Just because a level has rolling balls and it's annoying... Doesn't mean that level is bad.. 😂.. figures why this this little subscribers.. and also "DS2 is a shit game" was a deal breaker..
@@CosmicEye597 DS2 is definitely bad. Also, I'm glad someone else agrees with me that the Door Guardian is absolute TRASH for a gimmick fight. It is what it is though.
Considering this is their first game i can see that , but it will take time and a few more games for them to go even more in their own direction. The Devs seem really passionate about lies of p,dlc and future game , so its definitely not a stretch.
I completely agree with the level design part. Although the levels are linear, they are great, but I would love to see more expansive levels. I love getting lost in a game and only Dark Souls 1 and Hollow Knight have truly given me that feeling.
@@CosmicEye597 Hollow Knight's world made me feel all the emotions one can feel. I was against playing it before because I didn't know what a 2D game could offer. I have never been so wrong in my life. IT'S A FREAKING MASTERPIECE. (shameless plug but I have a walkthrough series on my channel if anyone's interested 🙂 not complete but I wish to do it soon)
I think its highly likely that the levels will be more open in the upcoming DLC, as it will probably be new end game content so scaling wont matter as much meaning you can have multiple paths :)
I am guessing that since Round 8 and Neowiz are smaller studio and publisher, they hoped that they would be able to do DLC/sequel but they had to hit their sales targets before Neowiz green lit either. Fromsoft probably had Elden Ring's whole life cycle planned out including DLC from the start because of their track record. You said you want the DLC to continue the adventure from the end. With the DLC the devs could address the linearity criticism of the game by expanding the map and creating alternate routes through the game. If they follow through with the Fables Extended Universe hint then I expect a new mc in the sequel. No more puppet arms but that could be replaced with magic or something.
I suppose it is all down to the player and their preferences. I have really enjoyed all the souls games and found Elden ring to be one of my top games EVER... BUT, I really, really enjoy Lies of P's linear level design. I have kind of been getting bored of the modern games advertising every single game to be open world, more to explore, etc. I love the linear, go here, do this. It's something I hope the DLC continues but if not, I'll still no doubt enjoy the expansion.
Okay technically there was one completely optional side area, the Hermit's Cave altho ig that was just to get some quartz and a new weapon. I really enjoyed that. And personally I dont have a problem with the rolling balls, I feel like St Frangelico's Cathedral was almost a remade version of Sen's Fortress, interesting in general and spiced things up. I also think that we will probably jump into the dlc in the middle of the game and not the end - right after beating Andreus and leaving the cathedral there's that green overgrown stargazer. Altho who knows - they could spin it any number of ways, maybe a cryptic vessel that leads u to a clue to reactivating the green stargazer. It will probably be outside of Krat and have to do with the Alchemists. I completely agree with what u said tho abt the Dark Souls 1 level design - the first half of that game is smth that no one has ever recreated in terms of interconnected areas, without being a true "open world". What Im hoping is that the entire dlc is one big web of connecting areas like the first half of DS1. Other than that I have full faith in Neowiz, they've made what could be the best Soulslike ever and this is only their first crack at the genre
I completely agree about the level design. If lies of P had even a fraction of the type of levels Lords of the fallen had. The game would be near perfect. Considering my biggest gripe was the level design. Virtually no exploration. However I still enjoyed it immensely.
Level Design is what matters most to me in these kind of games. Lies of P is great all around but I also left the game surprised with how great it was, but also wishing it had more exploration. The Combat and Bosses is where the game shines IMO

One thing they should fix is distinguishing grab attacks from regular attacks. They can't be standard blocked but they don't glow red, which they should
Very hard to say that the dlc will be better than elden rings dlc but i hope it will come close because i love lies of p to and definitely consider it one of 2023s highlights 😊❤
I really wish they add bossrush mode. Some inner laxasia too maybe lmao. Also new endings as the ones we have now suck ass and break the story. Also fuck it let us use arm of god as a prothetic and go full DMC4
I didn't play Lies Of P till fairly recently, so maybe I just benefited from the nerfs, but Lies of P was by far, and I mean by faaar! The easiest Soulslike I've ever played I'd never finished a soulsy before LoP, despite spending way longer in DS1 and Eldenring. I never even got close. DS1 I got halfway, and Eldenring, who the hell knows. But I opened most of the map. LoP though? I marched through that game like I knew what I was doing, age that felt good. No wall felt insurmountable, nothing held me back for more than a few hours, it was tough, but I did it. Didn't even grind (unless you count really looking for everything I could find as grinding). I'm genuinely surprised that people press on LoP as hard souls. Maybe it was just my build. I went for speed. I heard the speed weapons got buffed
Yea, I think the nerfs to the bosses and buffs to the player were probably a bit much. The game was very hard at launch. Every boss was a wall that took a while to beat
I finished the game before the first update dropped and after beating it several times after the latest patch I can confirm that while the game is easier, it´s now game changing. It has more to do with balance than anything else.
Sorry to disappoint, but I played AC for about 7 hours and stopped vibing with it. Maybe I'll love it in a year or two when I try it again. But I stopped wanting to play it after a short time.
I am glad that you and your wife have a hobby to share together. I was going to pick it up on sale recently but got invested into Cyberpunk. I do plan to get around to it though :)
1:23 I don't know about that. Both Black Rabbit Brotherhood fights are dogshit. I also think the clocktower in the cathedral and the door guardian are slogs

Hopefully we get more gameplay variety, weapon movesets and more variety in the boss design, as opposed to too many parry checks - would massively improve the replayability. Also more varied P-Organ upgrades that affect gameplay rather than things like more cells or fable charges. Definitely going to play the dlc and sequel regardless.
I loved Lies of P and for the DLC I hope formore, dramatical, subquest to make me cry. And no more difficulty spikes like the second fucking fase of the nameless puppet
I would like to see their hand at it. I agree they usually don't work out. So maybe its best for them to give us great content instead of an experiment.
We need to ask why the game is hardest in souls I think because we have short dodge and we are limited to face melee to melee combat even in sekrio you can troll bosses from range also the timing on parry super tight and in some bosses their attack are super fast with no rest between
@AbelMusa well, technically, that a deflection and both means to ward off an attack or to counter attack in Lies of P perfect guard also a parry in some boss as you able to deflect their attack on them to do free damage
