I disagree wholeheartedly 9:45 Having a boss that has such an insane special attack(waterfowl) makes it THAT much harder, which is what souls games are known for. Dont bash a difficult boss for being difficult. Dont fight her then. Its that easy

@22:55 Has he not heard of saving in a game. If you have a save file at the Malenia stage you can just upload it and fight her as many times as you like.

never understood the difficulty for people with ornstein and smough, beat them 2nd try on my first play through and on new game stayed under level and still easily beat them, literally all it takes is decent positioning and it’s a very easy fight

ngl for bloodborne bosses, not being memorable is seen as a fine thing for me ebrietas is one of my favorites just because i don’t hate anything, there’s always something annoying about most base game bosses and the boss quality in that game is dog shit and the blood vike system is one of the worst systems in souls games

Yeah ok so outside of your absolute hatred for the chalice dungeons that like them, gets real old real fast, you not properly explaining why the Shadows of Yharnam is straight up bad are my biggest contentions with this video.

Sekiro is simply built different

I keep fluctuating between thinking it's an 8/10 and considering it a 4/10.

IMO each game should have a "1st play through" rank and a "replay" rank. I fully agree with your top three from a replay standpoint. Sekiro literally just lets you re-fight bosses, and there isn't any real build variety, so replay, it's the lowest of the top three. Elden Ring is very tedious to start a replay with all the seed and tear errands you have to do, killing mama dragon, getting your weapon and leveling it up. And after you're set up you just kind of run past most of the open world aspects to get to the fun bosses. Build variety is high, but you can switch your build mid play through, so some how it's less satisfying. So yeah, still fun to replay, but kinda tedious, so second out of the top three. Bloodborne doesn't make you level up your healing, its a short game, so you get straight to the good stuff, and the build variety is excellent. So on a replay, it usually feels the best. But I would completely invert them for a first play through rating. blood borne has a challenging start that made me quit it for 2 months (it was my first souls game). I had a hard time figuring out where to go a couple times. Lastly, having to stop fighting a boss to go get more blood vials is immensely frustrating. Still a great game, but third out of the top 3 for first play through. Elden ring's open world is on full display your first play through. It's ability to let you change builds makes the first play through fun even if you mess up your build. Slightly annoying if you didn't find things like the physic flask your first play through, and the boss repetition is slightly annoying, but a great game, and still number 2 out of the top 3. Sekiro is a master piece on the first play through. Learning the combat as the game progresses is amazing, you can't mess up your leveling, exploration is fun and rewarding, and the story is told to you so you aren't insanely lost. And while agree some areas aren't super visually great, the area with all the monks is beautiful, and Fountain Head Palace is the most visually amazing level in any video game. Period. I feel like I speak for most players when I say, I wish I could play senior for the first time again.

Sekiro is the only fromsoft game i know ill never beat. My reaction time is juat always gonna be too slow for Parrying

Sekiro’s replay-ability isn’t build variety based. It’s based on mastering the combat system.

Sekiro is my first FromSoft game, I started playing a couple of weeks back and spent half that time stuck on Sword Saint. I finally beat him last night and am so relieved to have made it through. The game was so brutal, to the point of sometimes no longer being fun for me, but now I've done it and know I can do it, I'm actually looking forward to NG+.

I think that they should lean in to the Shadow of the Colossus vibes more in the future. I would have preferred less enemies and more empty scenery with unique art assets. I wanna feel like I'm walking through the abandoned ruins of a wiped out civilization.

Ill never forget fighting Orn and smough for the first time, at least a decade of hearing how tough these two were, fearfully walking into that boss arena….and beating them first try because I had unintentionally created a build that let me damn near 6 shot each boss. I struggled more on PINWHEEL than I did these two. I remember thinking “that was it?” After finishing the fight. I bet if I tried it today with a different build Id have a harder time though.

Even dark souls 2 is an absolutely beautiful game it’s just not as good as the rest of the masterpieces

I actually went Shura on my first playthrough, and honestly I have no regrets, early NG+ was a fun challenge and the One Mind skill I got was so freakin cool even if not the most effective. I love evil endings in games especially ones that have unique content far too many games don't do enough with the concept and while Sekiro does fall into the trap of having the bulk of the content relegated to one path what little is unique to the evil ending is at least very impressive.
