Join us in person for a Sunday service at 9:30amET at Grace Community Church located at Grace Farms (365 Lukes Wood Road New Canaan CT, 06840).
The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

I can not be sure, but he did seem like an unbeliever, and should not yet be calling himself a Christian. This is because He has a wrong view of God. He wants to blame God, and thinks he can judge God. But he does not know everything, so how can he rightly judge God? Questions are OK, when asked in faith. But, questions for the sake of unbelief does not please God.

    • @tigerl21
      @tigerl21 3 місяці тому

@@scottm4042As I’ve said, I’ve worked with a lot of students like this. I’m not saying he’s a believer, but rather it seems he was raised to believe he was merely by being born into and raised by a Christian family thereby making him a “Christian”. This is probably why he thought he was one. I heard him blaming humans more than God in this case.
We have a growing epidemic in the Church of sacrificing teaching and discipleship for acceptance. This student is clearly a victim in that. How can he know God if he has not been taught what it means to be in a relationship with Christ or how God’s Word is meant to reveal God’s character? So much of today’s teaching has become self-focused and sermons are becoming topical “self-help” or “self-improvement” speeches rather than teaching who God is and who we are in light of Him.
Students like this one are craving truth. I remember working at a camp one summer that offered apologetics seminars for high school youth hosted by Stand to Reason and every time, every week, without fail, the seminars would be so filled up they would have to turn students away. Equally exciting and heartbreaking because it was so clear they felt that the churches they have been to weren’t answering their questions and they were seeking.
I wouldn’t judge this kid, yet. At least he cares enough to ask rather than just walk away.
And God bless Cliffe and Steve’s patience to answer his questions I grace!

    Here is a good explanation
_Jehoiachin’s age in 2 Kings 24:8 and 2 Chronicles 36:9 is that 2 Chronicles records Jehoiachin’s age when he was appointed co-regent with his father, and 2 Kings records Jehoiachin’s age when, after his father’s death, he became king in his own right. Other kings also used co-regents. David appointed Solomon king while David was still alive (1 Kings __1:33__-40), and, when Uzziah was afflicted with leprosy, his son Jotham became co-regent (2 Chronicles __26:21__)._

Exactly still going strong after all these decades 💯. I was raised Christian but became an atheist and agnostic from 2017-2019 as a teenager dealing with mental health issues until I started reading my Bible again after my music teacher gave me his red Bible I read it from Genesis to Revelation. I would call Cliffe Knechtle and his family heroes because people like that look out for believers and unbelievers alike as human beings whether they agree, disagree or disrespectfully disagree. AMEN most people aren't looking for The Truth but feeling better or superior to others🙏👊❤️. We're all sinners trying to do Good or Evil in our actions and intentions. After reading The Bible in it's context I realized that The 7 Days of Creation in Genesis are actually 7 thousand years as a Day to The Lord God is a thousand years as Psalm and 2 Peter says so the Earth is actually older than 14 thousand years old so it could be millions to billions of years old. I'm glad brothers Cliffe and Stuart Knechtle's Apologetics ministry still going strong in 2024 after all these decades. After studying science I realized that Evolutionary biology from common ancestry has nothing to do with believing in a Creator we call God but it's a tool used by Atheists, agnostics and secular people to promote their own godless community and agenda against Christianity. Atheists and secular humanists are guilty of promoting a nihilistic reality where everyone and everything is objectively meaningless because of and in spite of religion and Atheism. This has nothing and everything to do with the video but please listen if you want to otherwise leave it alone and ignore it. Hello my name is Justin and I'm a fellow Christian and Apologist but I'm also a college student. I'm not a closed minded Theist as I have nothing against Atheists or unbelievers as I speak to them often to understand their reasons for unbelief but we as Christians are convinced of God's Existence due to many real factors). I'm not trying to convert anyone or convince anyone to become Christians as that's The Holy Spirit's job to help people believe but only explain why I believe in Jesus Christ. There's actually evidence of God's Existence in Christianity. First of all there's proof that Jesus of Nazareth existed in history since the writings of Tacitus, Josephus Flavius, Pliny the younger and other historical documents prove that He was living two thousand years ago that even scholars both religious and Atheists agree with historically speaking but not that He's The Divine Son of God because obviously they don't.
I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The people of Israel becoming a nation after The Holocaust in 1948 (ironically the melting point of gold as God compares Israel to gold that's tested in fire in Zechariah 13:8 and Jeremiah 16:15) exactly how Jesus The Christ said would happen since God us everything to come in The Scriptures and not just because people were working towards as Atheists claim which are impossible for any regular man to predict.
Just before anyone says Christianity is a white man's religion made to oppress blacks during slavery you obviously aren't aware that the first Christians were Jews in The Middle East and that Christianity just like any religion can be used by evil and corrupt people to oppress others but you forget that the first Abolitionists/Civil Rights activists were Christians who sought to abolish slavery, racism, segregation, injustice and prejudice throughout American history. Jesus The Christ loves you enough not to give you what we all deserve which is God's Wrath by His Own Blood. Charles Darwin didn't originally come up with The Theory of Evolution over 200 years ago as it is mentioned in the writings of Ancient Greeks who believed in Demons that gave knowledge to philosophers.
Evolution makes no sense when nothing has evolved after thousands of years of human history and supposedly the first creature came from primordial sludge several millions of years
ago funny how they won't believe that God an Eternal Almighty Spirit Being created us from the Earth) which came from a supermassive expansion of matter at high temperature that inexplicably created everything in the known universe that supposedly came from nothing billions of years ago. How did the organs evolve before there were bones, skin, substance and how did any creatures see before eyes evolved? I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" and I'm not convinced of macro Evolutionary biology whereas I accept micro Evolution like speciation and adaptation but not macro Evolution because there's no evidence of it nor clear observable examples of it where living creatures evolve into other kinds of species plus the fact that fossils don't show evidence of evolution and genetic entropy rules out evolution. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word.
Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. I don't mean this is any condescending manner but if you'd like to discuss The Scriptures with me or have me listen to your view on anything my instagram account is Savage Christian Kombatant.

Speaking on the hardening of Pharoah's heart, I've heard some explanations in that when Pharoah hardened his own heart, he was refusing to acknowledge the Holy Spirit and his conscience. But, when God hardened Pharoah's heart, he wasn't actively hardening it, but more like God "giving him over" to his sin because he had refused him so much even Pharoah could'nt feel the Holy Spirit. Romans 1:28 might be an example of this happening at another time. Not sure how sound it is, but thought i'd share the thought for discussion if anyone knows much else about it.

There's another reason too as I tried to mention the other day. But you're correct, but don't forget. If you read the scriptures, you'll see that. Basically, after many changes and he renewed the temple and so forth, it went through a conversion itself. And you know a physical transference and a new covenant. And when that happens, then he obviously was probably crowded again almost a game. I blocked my blessing. I'm not saying it right commanded. Howard was going to say at the other day but I'm tired so I apologize. But if you're setting the scriptures out, you'll see that.

I'm more than happy to agree with you on that, mankind is highly fallible in lots of aspects, I make lots of mistakes in life. You keep using lots of the same phrases, eg: "historically verified" .. how can you 'historically verify' *any* of the miracles mentioned in the Bible?. We humans have come up with this thing called "The Scientific method" .. it has a pretty good track record, it's not infallible, but it's success rate is incredibly robust. Rob, if a truly profound miracle happened somewhere in the world today, how would anyone go about verifying it was a supernatural miracle?

Jehoiachin was 8 when he started ruling. And became king at 18. There's a huge difference in the two sentences. He started ruling with his father at the age of 8 and didn't become king until he was 18. It was a common practice even in the most recent of monarchies for the king to give their heirs a little bit of royal responsibility therefore teaching said heir on the tasks of decision making and strategies.

  • @eradian1
    @eradian1 3 місяці тому +4

If I'm not mistaken the contradiction from the king being 8 or 18 isn't the only one I've heard where there are two Hebrew letters that are very similar. We don't believe the *copies* of the bible are completely inerrant. Furthermore, none of the claims he brings up are faith tenants. Notice the age of a king, the manner of Judas' death, the names of the authors even if they were contradictory, do not affect the claim(s) of Jesus and His life. At worst you could say this makes the exact events less trustworthy, but you still have to deal with multiple independent writers saying the same thing, thousands of eye witnesses, thousands of people being persecuted, hundreds of people dying for their beliefs, and the most historically well documented series of events since the printing press.

To anyone that will please listen whether you're an atheist or Christian who's kind of living a lukewarm life or thinking that they have got plenty of years to live their life as a Christian and just go happily through your day, time really is winding down like your watch that no longer works correctly. Not that you wear a watch, most people don't today, but I still do. Simply my point, the birthpangs are picking up the end times are here, but are slowly developing, but the speed will go much faster if you look all around you what's going on in the world with the war's economy, the multiplication of such things, the Earthquakes and the multiplication of such things including. The madmaid ones. Yes, we have people making Earthquakes on purpose, as well as real natural ones plus the fires in Hawaii that were set by man on purpose plus everything else. It's going on for increase or multiplication. That means it's only a speed up faster and faster. And our dollar is in trouble it's. It's going to collapse soon when I say soon. I don't mean tomorrow and might not be till next year as an example, but it's going to, and it's designed that way people behind the scenes are doing it deliberately. Our own government and other governments together are working hand-in-hand to destroy its own government and its own economy for a one world system, and the Pope will be part of that system. But it won't matter because before they can let the hammer come down to full throttle Christ will come.

@@jasonnoble7302 For the sake of anyone else, I will answer your rebuttal but only for the sake of other people as I've told you before Jason, it's very simple just like anyone else who likes to read ahead in a story but not pay attention to the context or just like anyone else skips the important. Parts and only hears or reads what they want to read. If you don't pay attention to the whole thing, you don't get the whole thing.
Simply put, of course it hasn't finished yet. Revelation has said when it will finish and when Jesus Christ will come, which it is soon. Now there's only a couple of things left to be fulfilled when people are making these predictions years ago, there were 2 reasons why they made the mistake one. They didn't read all of prophecy and follow its timeline. They were lazy and they wanted to jump the gun too. And most importantly, if you read your Bible in contacts clearly you'd see where one of the scriptures actually says no 1 knows the day or the hour, but you'll know it's near at the door or at the season, okay? You're not allowed to know that they are the hour, but the father who will send Christ. But as I said, there's only 2 more things in prophecy left to be fulfilled, one is being fulfilled as we speak, it's finishing right now and I'll probably take another year or 2 I don't know I can move real fast, and then there's just 1 other and then sudden destruction and Christ comes but I don't care if you both heave me or the Bible. I don't care if you read the Bible and find out whether it's true or not, that's up to you. I'm just speaking truth.

How was the Bible put together? Cliffe is right, but more needs to be said. The Old Testament books were written well before Jesus’ Incarnation, and all of the New Testament books were written by roughly the end of the first century A.D. But the Bible as a whole was not officially compiled until the late fourth century, illustrating that it was the Catholic Church who determined the canon-or list of books-of the Bible under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Indeed, the Bible is not a self-canonizing collection of books, as there is no table of contents included in any of the books.
Although the New Testament canon was not determined until the late 300s, books the Church deemed sacred were early on proclaimed at Mass, and read and preached about otherwise as Cliffe says. Early Christian writings outnumbered the 27 books that would become the canon of the New Testament. The shepherds of the Church, by process of spiritual discernment and investigation into the liturgical traditions of the Church spread throughout the world, had to draw clear lines of distinction between books that are truly inspired by God and originated in the apostolic period, and those which only claimed to have these qualities.
The process culminated in 382 as the Council of Rome, which was convened under the leadership of Pope Damasus, promulgated the 73-book scriptural canon. The biblical canon was reaffirmed by the regional councils of Hippo (393) and Carthage (397), and then definitively reaffirmed by the ecumenical Council of Florence in 1442.
Finally, the ecumenical Council of Trent solemnly defined this same canon in 1546, after it came under attack by the first Protestant leaders, including Martin Luther.

Cliffe and his son have great insight into the scriptures and have the Holy spirit to galvanize Christians and unbelievers. I truly appreciate words of wisdom that refer to the holy scriptures however when there's something contrary I become alarmed. Jesus is the son of God, the shepherd ,the messiah, a servant of God. He was risen from death by our invisible heavenly father. God cannot die!He not the father! He's the son with a specific spiritual job description according to the will of God. With Jesus free will he lovingly worked for his father until his prophesied death. God isn't a author of confusion and the bible says God is immortal and doesn't have a known beginning or ending. Jesus clearly had both! No one has ever seen God and survived but more than 500 eyewitnesses seen Christ resurrection. This indicates the perspective of first century Christians towards the divinity of jesus in relation to our heavenly father. The Trinity is clearly a man made unscriptural doctrine that causes religious division and convoluted misconceptions. The holy spirit, Jesus Christ and the heavenly father work together as ONE to complete the unstoppable purpose of God.
Similar to the old Testament the invisible heavenly father used various people along the timeline of humanity to achieve the plan of eternal salvation. Jesus definitely helps. Not all preaching is perfect but my honest assessment on this channel is 9/10 only because of the naive inability to explain the difference between God Almighty called Jehovah, Yahweh, el shaddai etc in comparison to a miraculous messiah with human flesh. The perfect man Jesus sanctified God holy name and we as Christians should do the same. May God bless you all.

I read my Bible more now as a non believer than I ever did as a Christian, the story of how and when the Bible was compiled is a fascinating story in of itself, I've mentioned a few times over the years that the first man ever to translate the original Hebrew/Greek scripture into English lived about 30 minutes from me in the UK. William Tyndale was a deeply religious Christian, he was burnt at the stake for his troubles. The prophesies in the Bible are lacking in any kind of pin point detail, there are no exact dates given.. it would be pretty powerful foresight if the Bible gave the exact time location and date of a powerful earthquake that was going to destroy a large town/city. That would be quite impressive and hard to explain. The people who wrote the New testament had access to the Old Testament, and could easily reverse engineer a Biblical prophesy into their story to make it seem as though it came true.

      Bible prophesies revealed:
Some time before 500 BC, the prophet Daniel proclaimed that Israel’s long-awaited Messiah would begin his public ministry 483 years after the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem (Daniel 9:25-26). He further predicted that the Messiah would be “cut off,” killed, and that this event would take place prior to a second destruction of Jerusalem. Abundant documentation shows that these prophecies were perfectly fulfilled in the life (and crucifixion) of Jesus Christ. The decree regarding the restoration of Jerusalem was issued by Persia’s King Artaxerxes to the Hebrew priest Ezra in 458 BC, 483 years later the ministry of Jesus Christ began in Galilee. (Remember that due to calendar changes, the date for the start of Christ’s ministry is set by most historians at about AD 26. Also note that from 1 BC to AD 1 is just one year.) Jesus’ crucifixion occurred only a few years later, and about four decades later, in AD 70 came the destruction of Jerusalem by Titus.

Bible writers and secular historians both record thirty pieces of silver as the sum paid to Judas Iscariot for betraying Jesus, and they indicate that the money went to purchase a “potter’s field,” used-just as predicted-for the burial of poor aliens (Matthew 27:3-10).

Some 400 years before crucifixion was invented, both Israel’s King David and the prophet Zechariah described the Messiah’s death in words that perfectly depict that mode of execution. Further, they said that the body would be pierced and that none of the bones would be broken, contrary to customary procedure in cases of crucifixion (Psalm 22 and 34:20; Zechariah 12:10). Again, historians and New Testament writers confirm the fulfillment: Jesus of Nazareth died on a Roman cross, and his extraordinarily quick death eliminated the need for the usual breaking of bones. A spear was thrust into his side to verify that he was, indeed, dead.

the term "witch" is kind of loaded. the bible talks about people who practice magic and sorcery and says in no uncertain terms that it's wrong. new age stuff like tarot and astrology are considered divination and shouldn't be messed with. and yes, there are much darker and very real magical workings that people do, and behind it all are demonic forces plain and simple. the bible condemns these acts, and just as with stuff like sexual immorality.. it's the behavior that is evil, and the people who practice them are sinners in need of Jesus Christ, just as we all are. it's especially difficult though with people who have devoted their lives to magical workings and who have become deeply enslaved to the demons they don't even know they are allowing into their lives. Those who are in Christ have nothing to fear from any demonic or magical powers.. just the name of Jesus Christ is enough to send demons running. but the people caught up in it in a deeper level are like addicts (in my experience). you can never go wrong by praying for them and speaking the truth and acting out love toward them. it can be a pitfall though to get hung up on trying to figure out who is a "witch" and who isn't, because it can lead to demonizing people. and it's important to remember that God is ultimately in control of all things and our job is to trust and abide in Him.

IF YOU HAVE EVER had suicidal thoughts, you’re not alone. It’s very common. And if you suffer from depression, you don’t have a mental disease. You are sane and you’re normal, because life is depressing. It’s filled with pain and suffering. As you go through life, your beloved dog dies. So does your sweet grandma. Then you realize that no one survives. We are all going to die and it seems that there’s nothing we can do about it. That’s very depressing.
      TWO QUESTIONS
What is the world’s best-selling book of all time? It’s the Bible. Are you familiar with its story of the rich young ruler who ran to Jesus, knelt down and asked, “Good Teacher, what should I do to inherit eternal life?” How would you answer that question? Before you answer, let me give you a quick scenario: Imagine you feel a painful lump under your arm. So you go to the doctor. He examines it, looks concerned, does some tests, and comes back with a grim expression and says, “I’m so sorry to tell you this, but you have lymph node cancer. It has metastasized. You have about two weeks to live. I will give you some medication to help ease the pain. I’m so sorry.”
You go home and lie on your bed. You’re too sick to see anyone or go anywhere. All you can think about is that one question: “What should I do to inherit eternal life?” This isn’t a far-fetched scenario. More than 600,000 Americans will die of cancer in the next twelve months, and over 8.2 million will die of the disease worldwide. Put yourself into that frightening scenario and ask yourself, “What should I do to inherit eternal life?” Do you know the answer?
      THE CAUSE OF DEPRESSION
According to the world’s best-selling Book, every human being is held in bondage to a haunting fear of death. The Bible says that what Jesus accomplished on the cross was so that . . . [He] might free all those who through [the haunting] fear of death were held in slavery throughout their lives. (Hebrews 2:15, Amplified Bible)

      FEAR’S ANTIDOTE
If you were standing on the edge of a plane 10,000 feet up, thinking about how you are going to jump and hit the ground face-first at 120 mph, you would understandably be terrified. But if I gave you a parachute, the minute you put it on, you will be able to control your fears. If you completely trust that parachute, you will now know that you will land gently at 8 mph, on your feet. Your fear will be in direct proportion to your faith. If you have total faith in the parachute, you will have no fear. Your faith will rid you of fear.
Let’s now apply that analogy to faith in Jesus. When He was asked, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” He replied: “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not bear false witness,’ ‘Do not defraud,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’ ” (Mark 10:18,19)
Jesus told him that only God is good; only He is morally perfect. Then He gave the man five of the Ten Commandments. This is because we may think that we are good, but the Ten Commandments show us that we’re not. For example, how many lies have you told in your life? Have you ever stolen something (irrespective of its value)? Have you taken God’s name in vain (including “OMG”)? Jesus said that if we look with lust, we commit adultery in the heart (see Matthew 5:27,28). Have you ever looked with lust?
If you answered “Yes” to these questions, you’ve admitted that you are a lying, thieving, blasphemous adulterer at heart. So if God judged you by the Ten Commandments on Judgment Day (we’ve looked at four of them), would you be innocent or guilty? No doubt you (like the rest of us) will be guilty. If you’re guilty on Judgment Day, will you go to Heaven or Hell? If any of us were judged by the Ten Commandments, we would justly end up in Hell. What then should you do to be saved from death and Hell?
Fortunately, there is an answer to the question, “What shall I do to inherit eternal life?” Just over 2,000 years ago, God became a perfect, sinless human being in Jesus of Nazareth. The Bible says: And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh . . . (1 Timothy 3:16) And the reason He became a human being was to suffer and die on the cross. When Jesus was on the cross He took the punishment for the sin of the world. We broke God’s Law (the Ten Commandments are called “the moral Law”) and Jesus paid the fine. That’s what happened on the cross. That’s why He cried out, “It is finished!” just before He died. In other words, the debt has been paid.
If you’re in court and someone pays your fine, the judge can legally let you go even though you’re guilty. God can dismiss our case, and legally let us live forever, because Jesus paid our fine on the cross: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Then Jesus rose from the dead, defeating death. Today, if you repent and trust in Jesus, God promises to give you eternal life as a free gift.

The KJV is not a bad translation, but unfortunately much of its language is outdated, making it exceptionally difficult to understand. A more accurate and modern translation would be something such as the ESV or NASB. KJV is good, but there are better ones out there. NKJV is actually just the KJV but with updated language, making it easier to understand!
      Edit: grammar

@charlestichy3167 ESV, NASB, etc, don't even translate the same text, they definitely aren't accurate. Only the KJV & NKJV are translated from the text which was passed down, the Textus Receptus. NKJV while being the only other one from the right text is still not accurate at all.

@@vashmatrix5769 The Textus Receptus is quite accurate, and like I said, the KJV is also accurate. However, using sources such as the Dead Sea Scrolls and the roughly 5,200 Greek manuscripts we have of the New Testament, we can extremely accurately translate the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek languages into English. The ESV and the NASB are based off of those manuscripts. Even if there were no Greek manuscripts of the New Testament, we would still be able to put together the entire New Testament except for 11 verses from quotes from the early church fathers. Unfortunately, there's just a substantial lack of evidence pointing to the KJV as a more accurate translation, although it is still quite accurate (just outdated)

@@robertmitchell-tv5yf Well first, let me make this clear. The NASB and ESV are not claiming to be NEW INSPIRATION. They are claiming to be DIFFERENT TRANSLATIONS of an already God-inspired text, which was the Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek manuscripts (the original autographs were inspired), which means they are safe from claims that they are new revelation. Second, a text that claims to be new inspiration has no ground to stand on, since the Bible is a closed canon. No more words will be added to what God has already spoken and revealed. Once again, different translations are not NEW words. If that were the case, the only truly accurate text would be the original languages, which most people don't want to spend four years or more learning. Third, 1 John has a bit to say about testing the spirits. If a spirit confesses Christ, it is from God. If it does not confess Christ, it is not from God (1 John 4). Fourth, there were a few tests a book had to go through to be considered canon. It had to be written by a Spirit-led person, it had to agree with previous revelation, and it had to be applicable to all generations
