I don't have much experience with birds, but I do have experience training dogs and cats and it's so interesting to see how similar it is. I frequently have dogs that get so excited that they'll run through every trick they know just trying to earn a treat or praise, and I can see that's what your galah is doing! it's adorable and frustrating when you're going for a specific trick, lol.

It was so great meeting you guys at that bird store amazing Peggy set up that you did a lesson/presentation on basic behavior, training, diet, getting started & all the great info in Rainy or really hot Fl! 😉 I'm Ryan (probably don't remember me) the short guy with lots of tattoos that got there a little late (sorry) & got to Talk to Dave for a bit but you guys were super busy so I didn't want to be rude plus I'm kinda shy. I've been following you guys for a really long time & have a bunch of your DVDs & did the magic training program for a while! Now I can cross meeting you guys off my bird bucket list but hope we meet again! I even got your bird thrill illusion DVD with a signed poster hanging in my room! You guys are such an inspiration & thank you for everything you do! I really hope to see you guys on a cruise I hope to go on someday! Lol or even a show! You guys are so amazing that you might not realize the huge impact you've had on me & many others. It help me do what I do today which I am an assistant manager at a small very responsible, amazing, super clean, & very well respected bird store. Tusa and Jinx are both 9 years old now but sometimes I can get them into a "baby" mode by talking sweetly to them. Jinx is harder to get to do it but will sometimes do it if Tusa is.
I will have to show that sometime. It's always changing based on the circumstance but mostly they're all good. Like all siblings they have their moments!
I have a new grey that i need to try and tame down. I can walk by her cage and shes calm. But you stand to long and ruffles her feathers and some verbal growling. Question , how to get closer to hand tame. Please help
What's the difference with Tusa being ok with Bondi being close and training a vulnerable position compared to it being a no go when Jinx is around? I'm guessing it's because Bondi is smaller than Tusa and Jinx and Tusa doesnt feel any sort of threat? And I dont mean threat in a bad way, I know none of your birds are threatening to each other, just a threat size wise being vulnerable is what I mean.
Hi, love your channel, I have a Blue and Gold Macaw, what type of nuts do you use as treats, I'm trying to teach my 34 year old Macaw new tricks but I need proper treats. Same as you to get him to goon his back, but it's going to take time.
Have any of your parrots had a problem with getting blocked nares? My girls love smooshing their face in their food n i have had to get pellets out of their nares aswell as veggies

@@n.r.2162 I have a serious life threatening problem. My 17 yr old yellow nape started cannibalizing her wings and body. Ripping the muscle off her wings down to the bone, chewing holes in her back and almost bleeding to death in the past. 2 months. Only way she will stop is if she gets cold enough to shiver or to tired to stay awake any longer. I can't afford an avian vet.
@@ng-iq4kx I would get her a collar. She really needs a vet, your bird could die without, its probably an underlying disease. Definitely get her a cone and try to figure out a way to pay for a vet, I dont know anything about vet payments but maybe you could look it up. Sorry you're going through this😢😢

Fatema Sairat pine nuts, because they're the perfect size! And almonds/other nuts for bigger rewards. Sunflower seeds also work. Some birds are picky though, so you might have to taste test a few treats with your conure and lorikeet!
Nopeeee! Bondi is not a fan of his, ha. Maybe someday but so far... definitely not. I rarely house them together because he becomes so dominant over food dishes and such, it's just not fair to her. She's too kind of a spirit for his feist!
Jynx seemed out of sorts....usually when he's on camera with you he enjoys socializing with you a great deal more than he did. Was he just having one of those days? Wow and as I was typing that I noticed he was trying to take care of Tusa which really surprised me.
I really need your help!!💗 I recently bought two young cockatiels. They are brothers i thought iT would be Nice to buy two brothers because getting used to a new Home would be easier for them. So one is mine and one is my sisters. Mine steps up nicely also when he’s outside his cage. And here comes the problem: sometimes he decides to fly of but he would most likely end up against a wall or window.. i don’t want him to hurt himself! How can i stop him flying against the Walls?💗 Please reply x ( i have been doing some small flight trainings and he does trust me to catch him but when he’s flying around the room he won’t land on my hand but i do offer my hand because otherwise he Will end up flying into something and fall down)
I would put stickers or decals on the windows or mirrors. I trained my clipped conure to not hit walls by taking him into a bathroom, no mirrors or open toilets, and flying him in there. They will learn with time how to avoid walls and windows. I have 3 cockatiels and they dont run into anything anymore. Sorry im not Jamie lol but this is what I did
@@emmelys5096 Was he ever clipped (I don't know how old he is.. maybe he's learning to fly for the first time)? When I got my amazon, her wings were clipped. When her feathers eventually grew back, she began flying but it took a while to get the hang of it and she flew into the wall several times. Her maneuverability is now astounding.. small turns, circles, (almost) straight up, etc. I'm actually surprised how good it is for a larger bird. I remember one time she hit the wall so hard, I thought she put a hole in it, so she's also more sturdy than I would imagine. Your bird will learn. I'll just make a point that when my bird learned to fly, she gained so much confidence that her overall well-being improved... very, very, noticeable. Happier and more assured of herself. I hate it when people clip their birds. I think it does more psychological damage than they realize.
Ola Haraldson-Dørum if I had to do it over again I likely wouldn’t get hybrids however, Comet and Tusa’s parents chose one another freely and lived on a freeflying area in Florida so they never were forced to mate to create the hybrids they are. 💛
Tusa and Jinx are such brothers. Hating each other but ultimately there for each other when they need a good scratch.

Jynx seemed out of sorts....usually when he's on camera with you he enjoys socializing with you a great deal more than he did. Was he just having one of those days? Wow and as I was typing that I noticed he was trying to take care of Tusa which really surprised me.

I recently bought two young cockatiels. They are brothers i thought iT would be Nice to buy two brothers because getting used to a new Home would be easier for them. So one is mine and one is my sisters. Mine steps up nicely also when he’s outside his cage. And here comes the problem: sometimes he decides to fly of but he would most likely end up against a wall or window.. i don’t want him to hurt himself! How can i stop him flying against the Walls?💗 Please reply x ( i have been doing some small flight trainings and he does trust me to catch him but when he’s flying around the room he won’t land on my hand but i do offer my hand because otherwise he Will end up flying into something and fall down)
I would put stickers or decals on the windows or mirrors. I trained my clipped conure to not hit walls by taking him into a bathroom, no mirrors or open toilets, and flying him in there. They will learn with time how to avoid walls and windows. I have 3 cockatiels and they dont run into anything anymore. Sorry im not Jamie lol but this is what I did
Also try targeting him to fly to your shoulder/head, ive never tried it but I assume it would work if your bird knows how

@@emmelys5096 Was he ever clipped (I don't know how old he is.. maybe he's learning to fly for the first time)? When I got my amazon, her wings were clipped. When her feathers eventually grew back, she began flying but it took a while to get the hang of it and she flew into the wall several times. Her maneuverability is now astounding.. small turns, circles, (almost) straight up, etc. I'm actually surprised how good it is for a larger bird. I remember one time she hit the wall so hard, I thought she put a hole in it, so she's also more sturdy than I would imagine. Your bird will learn. I'll just make a point that when my bird learned to fly, she gained so much confidence that her overall well-being improved... very, very, noticeable. Happier and more assured of herself. I hate it when people clip their birds. I think it does more psychological damage than they realize.

A vid on YT says that hybrid Macaw are really bad and you shoudent breed different Macaw! What do you think of hybrids Macaws?
Ola Haraldson-Dørum if I had to do it over again I likely wouldn’t get hybrids however, Comet and Tusa’s parents chose one another freely and lived on a freeflying area in Florida so they never were forced to mate to create the hybrids they are. 💛
So you think that normal Macaws are better then hybrids?
