This dude has a really signature sound on his beats. Something quite heavy and dark. In every tutorial I get this feel. I love it. Hope you keep doing your videos in your own way. You feel very different from everybody else. Awesome production style in the beats and in the videos/explanation. I caught your livestream the other day and you said something that really crushed me, but in a good way. I thought I was getting better, but my switch ups were just taking instruments in some parts of the beat, halftime, etc. It's really cool that you have a different aproach in that topic. Promoting a more organic way of composing, instead of doing the same trick all over again. I would love some more tutorials in arrangment/transitions!
Hahah thanks man, yeah at this point I do have a sound that I like to go for. It's typically heavy and dark, or relaxed and smooth (like in my lofi videos maybe). Thanks for popping by the stream. I guess my intention with saying that is making sure you guys subject yourselves to new techniques and styles in different situations. It's easy to fall into a rut and do the same process over and over again, but at that point you are sacrificing your learning. I think there is real value in making sure you don't stay in a comfort zone, so I want to try my best to push you guys.
It's definitely a fun thing to do! Word of warning, the learning curve is steep and you will likely get frustrated early on. But once you get the hang of it, it's very rewarding.
I've been making boom bap beats since the 1990s & I'm still learning things everyday. I'll be adding your techniques to the ones I already utilize in my production. You have a new follower, my friend. Thank you so much.
props to you brotha, you’re dropping a lot of gems in your vids. These are tricks of the trade that a lot of producers would not share with others, so much respect for your genuine attempts to make us beginners better producers

Other than that, it's the same process. This means I'm doing really well with my mixes. My friends say my mixes sound really good, but I find it hard to believe them lol but now I do. Well, interestingly enough, I don't really have a deep deep knowledge of music theory. And I wouldn't feel right giving you guys poor information, so as for now I am likely going to avoid music theory
Ayy Leon. Yeah those are some simple and straight-forward ways to create bridges and outros. I think next time I might mix it up if people want to see another one of these kinds of videos
Daaamn. This beat is sickkkk. I love sampling challenges like this. Can u do more please? Like maybe take a sample that’s not so great or doesn’t really fit the hip hop genre and make a beat out of it?
Your subtractive workflow is really interesting. Building pieces for the entire song then removing them in certain sections. Really different from how I compose, but I might try it out!
Thanks man! Yeah it's a technique that I like at times, it segments the workflows between creative building and then idea organization. For some people, it may end up yielding better results, only one way to find out!
Great video! I really like this as it gives a peek into your producing process and it'll help me shape mine. One of the reasons I like your videos is that you can take the most simplest loops and sounds and make them sound very professional. Idk if it's bc of mixing or arrangement or both, but a tutorial on that would be nice as well :)
🔥Brilliant!!! I thought using samples just meant dragging and dropping sounds that already exist into your own project, hence I didn't like the idea of using them as I thought they will steal from my learning process. From this video, I saw that you still need to use your own creativity to make the samples more interesting in endless ways.
Thank you Lesedi! Yeah I find sampling gets a bad reputation because people think it's simply just dragging and dropping sounds and that's it. But I am hoping to show how you can get really creative and unique with it
love the workflow and the techniques in arrangement. Just starting out and this has been the best I've seen in working with fl studio and arranging. thank you. Just don't have all the other tools yet, only stock. But a learning lesson in using the tools I have to have the same effect.
I learned all of this through years of hands on experimentation just to hear it all thoroughly explained in a matter of minutes. if i had this when i was 20 id be a billionaire.
