Hey king, Thank you. M~
Michael, I'm loving your videos. You're informative and entertaining. Thank you. Quick question... what are the locations for your tuners? Are there any key dimensions to keep in mind when locating them? Much appreciated.
Thanks Mark, I cover that question and a lot more in my Pro Builders WorkShop. www.southernfireguitars.com/
Wow Michael...I did not expect that kind of great sound to come out of that CBG! Did you use the Acoustic Light Open G Modal string set for this build? Well done! Loved that hat also...
Thanks David. I was very happy with the sound. I was using string gauge 040 030 020 nickle wound. Cool hat. lol
Awesome as always! Thank You so much!
Your welcome, T. Thanks for checking it out. M~
i missed the part how you glued it together at the tuner end
GREAT JOB !!!!!!
Thank you, Hal. M~
Just subscribed 👍🏆.
Thanks Scott. M~
Hey Michael. Love your videos. Is the bridge free floating ?
Thanks Gary, Yes, it is a floating bridge. M~
Love the box and also the build What make cigar box is that one Michael ?
Thanks, Larz, That was an AVO Syncro box. It has a great sound.
I like it, sounds good 👍👍🇦🇺
Thank you, Brad. M~
When you say the neck is made from scrap wood not everyone can find or buy maple or such like, I wish you could achieve the Same awesome effect from a piece of scrap timber such as a pine?
Hey Billy, If you have pine, try pine. There are No Rules :)
Cool video, Michael. A couple of questions for you. 1. Do you use normal guitar acoustic strings and where do you get the template and guitar tuners from?
Thanks Marc, Yes, normal guitar strings, You can see the parts and setup tools I use here www.amazon.com/shop/southernfireguitars
Nice build Michael, when playing fretless, do you mainly use the fret markers or just the position dots? THANKS!
Thanks. I use the fret markers, or fret lines, but I guess if there's no fret lines marked, I would use the dots and my ear. 😎
Hi Michael iv always wanted to ask you all the little licks you play and make up . How do you know what note comes after the next one . Does a note always follow a set note? Just trying to progress my playing like you.
Thanks jason
Hey Jason, This video can help you out on the notes to play. ua-cam.com/video/42sfDLwqTmY/v-deo.html
Love your slide, where did you get it?
Thanks. The slide I'm using is the Dunlap 218 Tempered Glass Slide amzn.to/3eMvhlE
I’m working with a similar neck but it’s made of walnut. I think I saw you using boiled linseed oil in one video. For walnut, do you think the BLO, tru oil, or just a regular wood stain would be best for finishing it?
Linseed oil looks great on walnut. a lot of my fret boards are walnut. I add 3-4 coats. M~
@@SouthernFireGuitars thank you!! As always, you’re truly the best! I’ve done a lot of googling but trust your opinion more 😄
Was that mic’d? Sounds good
Hi David, no mic, that sound was right out of the guitar. I thought it sounded pretty loud. M~
Definitely love your videos!
Unfortunately, the fret saw you linked does NOT come with the depth guide that the one in your video has. In fact, no depth guide or screws at all - just the saw. I know this because I ordered the saw from your link and mine arrived today without the guide.
This link has the same saw with the depth stop for about $20 more.
www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077Y6NCR4/
Thank you TL, Very sorry about that, that link was linked to the other saw, because people have purchased it from that link. Not sure why it was changed, very sorry. You can send it back and get a full refund on it. Again very sorry about that.
That's weird.
@@SouthernFireGuitars No problem. Just thought I'd share my experience in case anyone else might've ordered the saw expecting to get the depth guide with it. On another note, I went to Harbor Freight today and picked up one of those small flush-cut handsaws like the one you use. Thanks for sharing your time and experience.
@@TLAS Thank you, TLAS. It took me a while, but I think I fixed all the links to the correct saw. That's a good little flush cut saw, stays pretty sharp. M~
I'd call it Frankenstein's CBG.
Thanks Eric, good idea. lol
Don’t forget to tell your fans, that the wood at the Big Box Store are not always straight. I always look at all sides, before I buy. We need to look out for each other.
Thanks Tim, good tip. M~
What part of Florida are you from. Im from north of Panama city
Hi Wesley, I'm in Brooksville. M~
Well I gave it a thumbs up. But the UA-cam fairy , didn’t put a dollar under my pillow instead he stole my pillow. O well just my luck
Thanks for the thumbs up, Terry. I hope you get a new pillow 😎
For a slider, what is your string height at the nut? Thanks
Mine are about 2 - 3 mm
What kind of string height did you go with?
String height was a bit high for this fret less. It was about 5mm at the 12th.
"If you're still watching this video" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I see you stayed to the end lol Thanks Seadog. M~
Generous
Thanks anthony. M~
