This song has the best build up EVER in my opinion. I can't wait to get to "overwhelmed as one would be , placed in my position...." God, it's incredible
As all Tool music, this part is abolsutely timeless. It's almost as if the music shouldn't work, it's as if it where played in slow motion. Alien, sci-fi, eternal, ROCK.
This song has the most time signature and tempo changes of any song I've learned. I can play the notes and i got the timing...getting the effects and tone down on the guitar is downright impossible. starts in 12/4..then 4/4 & 5/8 alternating, then 6/4 for a bit before it switches to 11/8 for a bit, then has a weird shift with 2 bars of 9/8 to 4/4 and back to 9/8 before a single bar of 7/4 to continue with 5/4 for a few bars, a 6/4 rest, and then 11/8 for a while. Then the solo has danney carrey doing a 3/4:5/4 polyrhythym (and brings in a 4/4 halfway thru just for good measure.) all while the guitar does a solo in 5/4 timing. The bass is doing that polyrhythym as well. This song somehow all fits together and is perfectly mathematically sound. A musical masterpiece.
That part with Danny and Justin doing that 3/4:5/4 polyrhythm is one of the most genius things I've ever heard. How they managed to make something so insanely weird and complex sound so insanely groovy at the same time, is beyond me.

Yeah, I didn't like this one at first, but I get something more from it on every listen. Cool uses of 11/8 (I think?) time. The climax is very cathartic and weirdly beautiful though. Maynard's voice just soars.
kylestyyle987 It's a really complex song. Lots of sections and changes. I needed a lot of listens to get the flow of the song. Once you get it, it's fucking amazing. Justin's bassline during the solo is probably one of the most intricate things they've written.

Exactly, this one of their most esoteric and complex songs to appreciate, I used to feel it’s one of their weakest in the beginning, now I think it’s one of the strongest most interesting pieces.
I first heard Sober a few years ago and I didn't really like it but then recently UA-cam suggested I watch the video to Vicarious and after hearing it I had to look up the album. I have to say, Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned is one of my all time favorite songs now.
this is really the deep end of Tool. Something that really shouldnt be listened too until you are used to Tool and ready for a journey. Listen to 46&2 it is a great intro song
Well said. 46&2 is something in the middle: you know it's Tool, but not that much. A kind of half way from a conventional hard rock/metal song and Tool. In the end, if you like Rosetta Stoned, you like them totally.

CrAzYCaM 8 unrelated? Its the same tune played with different music for jimmy, not a necessity but it its definitely related, and Wings and 10000days literally say Part 1 and Part 2, you CAN do 10000days without Wings, ive done it countless times, but thats ridiculous for a first listen especially a reaction channel of someone who clearly appreciates the “art” part of music
I believe Jambi would be something that would resonate more with the vibe that got you into The Grudge, Jim. On Rosetta Stoned, if you want to dive deeper, I suggest hopping over to the johnkew channel. I find it easier to see all the complexities in the song when I'm watching him play. His second channel, johnkewdrums, has a 20-minute analysis of the time signatures when he was studying to do the cover. He has one about The Grudge as well.
towards the end of the song the drums guitars and vocals are all simultaneously in different time signatures. crazy! Edit: also this song is about someone who has taken DMT and trips the meeting with the Aliens giving him the meaning of life. apparently lots of people have this same trip when taking DMT Vicarious and Lateralus are my favourite tracks can't wait for your reactions
Just a shame about some of the lyrics, a few mistakes. "like the time Dave floated away" as in Space Odyssey And "Bob help me" near the end, in the typical placement of "God".
I heard you do Ticks and Leeches, and was gonna comment "DO ROSETTA STONED," but then of course, seen this video as a suggested play, so cheers. Love this song. As a huge fan of Karnivool, Tool, Porcupine Tree, King Crimson, etc, I knew you'd love it. Cheers mate!
If The Grudge is where you liked to be, then I'd highly recommend then just continuing with the Lateralus album. Next song is The Patient. There is a small fill in between The Grudge and The Patient called Eon Blue Apocalypse, which is pretty cool. The whole album was composed to be listened to all the way through without any breaks, kind of like Dark Side of the Moon. Will await this reaction sometime next week, maybe.
I’m so glad you chose this one. I love this one and it cracks me up every time I listen to it and the music is awesome. A bad trip turned into something great.
“ Sunkist and Sudafed, gyroscopes and infrared” has got to be, poetically, one of the best lyrical statements I have ever heard in music. Not sure why, but it’s just so satisfying to say!
There's an interesting "lyric video" for Lateralus on UA-cam that also plays with the idea of the song's timing associations with the Fibonacci. It's a fun listen/read. ua-cam.com/video/wS7CZIJVxFY/v-deo.html .
...and because of this, the pretentious ones who say they're TooL fans rave about how great of a song Lateralus is. If people knew nothing about TooL and just listened to the music, the majority of people would rate Lateralus as a middle of the pack song. There really are so many better choices.
“All you know about me’s what I sold you, dumb fuck.” Are you OGT back from ‘92 from the first EP as well? Honestly, the nerve you must have to call anyone else pretentious.
2catgumbo Your perception of where the song ranks in Tool’s catalog is beside the point. You can’t expect to call one subset of Tool fans pretentious and while acting all holier than thou and not get called out for being a hypocrite. I don’t think Lateralus is Tool’s best song, but to suggest that fans who do think it is are somehow inferior to you is the height of arrogance.
I love watching your reaction videos more than any other coming from somebody who understands music and really appreciates the effort put into the production and helps me understand it
Tool embodies the human experience In their music. It's bloody fantastic. You really should check out the track; Right In Two. By the way, Gojira rules.
Tool flat out says in a interview that their music isn’t something you can just tap your feet to. They want you to experience their music . Most of their music will put you into a hypnotic state of mind and send you on a journey if you let it. I suggest Aenima . Very hypnotic trance kinda track. And you will be in a different place in you mind.
This song is actually part 2 of a 2 part song. The previous song on the album 10,000 Days, "Lost Key (Blame Hoffman)", is the introduction to "Rosetta Stoned." The song itself is from the perspective of a person on an "trip". The beginning is him being able to vividly describe what he experienced during the beginning stages of the trip. As the timing signatures and pace of the song change, so do the characters attitudes towards himself and his current reality. The part of the song where he mentions "$#!% the bed..." has a double meaning. In some older cultures, the phrase "s*** the bed" is in reference to forgetting to do something, or "dropping the ball" so to speak. But due to the persons current reality, one or more of the instances it is in a literal sense. I suggest listening to both songs together for a broader experience on this song. It's nice to see someone discovering this band and these songs for the first time.
Jim... thank you! The best song, in my opinion, by TOOL, on one of the best channels on UA-cam. Keep up the incredible work and thank you for all of your contributions, especially to this amazing band.
Jumped right into the deep end from the start. This is one of their songs that, to understand it well, you have to take weeks to digest each part, break it down, especially Danny Carey’s polyrhythms. If you look at it as each part, and realize that Carey is playing 3 different time signatures at once, then you’ll understand how phenomenal of a song this one is
This song is freakin amaziiiiing! It is so exeptional, cause on one hand, this sounds like tool, but on the other, it's different than the other tool songs. This has been my ringtone fot the past 2 years and still gives me shivers 😍😍😍
When I saw them preform this song live it sounded so different. Maynard sounded like he was rapping the entire first couple of minutes. It was confusing but in retrospect it was very amazing
For a new Tool fan, this would be one of the last songs I would recommend. This one takes a number of listens to really appreciate along with a lot of the 10,000 days songs. Have to review 46&2, Jimmy, Pushit, Eulogy, Lateralus, TIcks and Leeches, Jambi, Vicarious....too many to list really. It's really interesting to see them being discovered for the first time by so many. Truly one of the most unique an talented bands you will ever here. So different, bands cannot even copy them.
dont worry man, you jumped head first into the deep end on this one. This is one of those songs that takes some working up to. I would suggest something like 46&2, Stinkfist, Jambi, etc...the more "radio friendly" stuff to start off. Then I would take it album by album. They evolve A LOT from album to album. Their attitude, complexity, and sound all change drastically as they go on. Their music really is a very good representation of their state of mind at specific points in their life, and grows as they do. Although sometimes they do just like to fuck with the audience a bit lol.
opiateofthemasses preach bro, this ones a tall order right away, hell this wasnt even on my radar as best songs on the Album let alone their catalog, but it can grow on you, its just so out there its a shock to the system, so many better tracks display their brilliance in a more pleasing, i believe he used “melodic” way, Vicarious and Jambi will rock him good and Wings/10000days....well you know 👊🌀
Not that they ever fall short, but the bass lines on this album are all especially good. I think I read somewhere that when they were writing Justin had a lot of stuff he brought to the table first this time around.
This song is one of the greatest creations in music (aside from other Tool songs lmao, I agree that this one isn't quite as good as others), but it contains indepth story, comedy, tragedy, spontaneous intricate design and flawless execution, and delivers what it's trying to deliver in such a profound way. Sucks that you didn't listen to the intro "Lost Keys (Blame Hoffman), but so glad you got the chance to experience it!
really have to listen to this song at least a few more times to really appreciate it. been listening to tool for over twenty years and this song at least dozens of times. it's complicated yet simple at the same time.
I enjoyed your reaction with the grugde (problaby my favorite tool song), if you liked it I recommend you to listen songs from the album lateralus, like the patient, schism, parabol/parabola, lateralus, reflection... Enjoy tool, there is a Lot of good songs, when you finish the album lateralus you can then listen Ænima and 10,000 days, and then with undertow and opiate, but I recommend you that order because of your reaction with the grugde and rosetta stoned.
I love this song. I think you would have enjoyed it even more if you had listened to the song “Lost Keys (Blame Hoffman)” as well in this video. It’s the preceding track on the album (Title: 10,000 Days) and is basically a long introduction to Rosetta Stoned.
From 10,000 Days, you may want to take a look at Jambi or Right in Two. Also, do some reading up on the singer Maynard's mother and the story that runs through his output..it might give you more grasp when it comes to tackling 'Jimmy' and 'Wings For Marie/10,000 Days'
My favorite part is Justin and Danny from 7:04 to 8:14! My current overall favorite part of any tool song... I say 'current' because they've been my favorite band since the mid-90s and my favorite song rotates all the time.
The song is take on Bill Manspeaker going out to see the integratron in Landers California. When he went to Tool's rehearsal spot, He told crazy elaborate stories with fear in his voice about being abducted by aliens, talking about U.F.O's, and jumping all over while kind of being "scatter brained" trying to explain it. This all quoted by Danny Carey and members on a UA-cam clip. Maynard then wrote a song about his way he interpreted the encounter. My view: The song was Maynard's take of the whole ordeal which seems to hint a little sarcasm at someone's psychobabble rhetoric and or prophet like persona of quite possibly a hallucinogenic induced experience
This was on their setlist last year on their 2023 Fall Tour. First time seeing them live. Maynard still has the same endurance. (Fun Fact: Danny's Bass Drum's are so low and loud live it almost restarts your heartbeat to his rhythmic time signatures.)
Love your reactions to TOOL. This, however, is an odd choice this early on. Great none the less. I recommend the song Lateralus, or Reflection, and Ticks and Leeches
Jim Newstead correct. you can't forget what you you don't know. i watch a lot of tool reaction. you are the one with most knowledge about music. love your reactions.
MOpeth mentioned a live stream.... Tool designs there songs to be listened to from the beginning of the album. But you could always listen to their hidden album, cultivated from The Golden Ratio... The Holy Gift
when you're able to count time signature this song could make you cry lol... swiss army triplets cut with 4/4 right hand... 3 different time sign at the same time ... it's change and change and change. Crazy polyrythm... wow
And finally, depedning on which Tool era you're listening to, you'll get a different identity. They are a band who go away for a long time, live, do their own thing, and come back to each other with new experience. They consdier that a vital part of the band's existence. Never expect the same thing twice.
It is a great song... My friend and I have disagreements. He says the narrator was high and that it didn't happen. I say it did happen and nobody believes him. That's what makes this song magical... it is up to interpretation.
People that have done psychadelics like DMT describe having experiences that are remarkably similar to those described in the typical alien abduction stories we've all heard.
I have to say, this is a tune that grew on me and it might do that for you as well. If nothing else, it is entertaining. I think you might enjoy a more technical song by them, of which there are many. If you think a cover might be cool then check out "No Quarter," if not a cover; check out either "Eulogy," or "Right in Two." Also. Enjoy your dinner.
Do people realise what is going on during "don't know, won't know" it just sounds like open strumming in time with each word of "don't" and "know" but actually its so much more delightful than it first sounds to the naked ear
An interview with the drummer of the band said that the lead singer read a story about a man's alien abduction account and was so fascinated by it that he worked it into song lyrics. Then again, the band is very into occult spirituality and are pretty open about the upsides of LSD use, so this could be his own personal account because he's also pretty notorious for stringing fans along. We'll never know because he doesn't divulge the meaning of his lyrics. Awesome song, though.
Its absolutely about an acid trip. When you do acid you believe that you get this great knowledge but after you have come down and try and remember it you cant.
Keep going man! You're in for a ride. A brief primer: Opiate/Undertow: Established their unique blend of crunchy/heavy guitars, primal intensity and intelligent lyrics and concepts. Songs of note: Opiate, Prison Sex, Bottom, Sober, Undertow, Flood Aenima: Maintained the crunchy heaviness and intensity, but evolved a step further. Songs became a little more complex both structurally and conceptually, a little deeper emotionally, and longer in length. More melodies were incorporated, interesting/weird segues were introduced, and overall, everything sounded just a little bit more mature and epic. Songs of note: Stinkfist, Eulogy, H., 46 & 2...well, shit. Just listen to the whole album. Lateralus: The next step in Tool's evolution. While still deep, raw, and emotional, this time it felt less angsty and angry, and more about positivity and self-improvement/enlightenment. Song concepts explored different emotional states of being a human: holding a grudge, staying patient in the midst of adversity, communicating to save a relationship, being grateful to be alive and staying present, exploring outwardly to discover and enrich your life, etc. The whole thing had a little more of an Eastern feel. Alex Grey's artwork was introduced (as you saw on The Grudge). Almost like an out-of-body experience more than listening to a music album. A complete epic, and IMHO, Tool at their best. Songs of note: The Grudge, The Patient, Parabol/Parabola, Lateralus, Disposition/Reflection/Triad 10,000 Days: Seemed to build off the Lateralus sound, while revisiting some of the elements in their back catalogue ("The Pot" had a bit of a "Prison Sex" vibe, for example. And "Rosetta Stoned" was reminiscent of "Third Eye" off the Aenima album.) To me, this felt like more of a side-step than a progression in their evolution, but still a very solid release - highlighted by the lead singer's Magnum Opus to his late mother, "10,000 Days/Wings for Marie." Probably the one you'll get the most requests on simply because it's the most recent. Songs of note: Vicarious, Jambi, 10,000 Days/Wings for Marie, The Pot Cheers!
lol.. the amount of amazing songs on those albums...specially Aenima, wow his head would explode. Or he'd just enter a constant psychedelic trip. Let's not lose him.
Listen to 9:56 again before judging the melody of this song, this climax is epic. That said, the song is written with an emphasis on rhythm, that's probably why the melodic section hits so hard. God damn, shit the bed.
Afternoon Jim. Hope all is well - just stumbled across your channel not that long ago - enjoy your reactions to the recommendations so far! If I may be so bold, I wanted to offer a few different selections that I think you'd enjoy, and give a very short description of the music afterwards, so you have a rough idea of what to expect. "Awakening" by Unleash the Archers. Canadian epic metal band. Female lead, very crisp and clean sound. "Creatures of the Mud" by Shokran. Russian progressive metal band that created an album based off of the Plagues of Egypt. VERY technical. Very talented! "Consume" by Polaris. Australian metalcore band. Mix of clean and scream vocals, dual guitarists, heavy. "Reclamation" by Lamb of God. Heavy/Death metal. Screams and Growls, exceptional drum work with hard riffs. "Demiurge" by Meshuggah. Band actually created a unique style called DJENT - down-tuned. Drummer is widely considered one of the most talented, ever. Bass heavy with time signature changes galore. Just a few for you to consider. Thanks again and keep up the great work! Tried to give you a little of everything to sample!
This wasn't one of my favorite Tool songs until I read the mumbling lyrics. Once you realize what it's about and how ingeniously they paint this alien abduction/acid trip scenario, it shoots up to top 3. But, I forgot my pen.

"Me? They picked me? And I didn't even graduate from fucking highschool"
Shit the bed again

Just a shame about some of the lyrics, a few mistakes. "like the time Dave floated away" as in Space Odyssey
And "Bob help me" near the end, in the typical placement of "God".
Also "sound like Peanuts parents," not "look," as in the WOP WOPWOP WOP instead of using actual words.
I always thought "Bob" was a reference to Twin Peaks and the character Bob in the show being an Alien
I know right..... Why would someone take the time to make a lyric video, and not triple check the lyrics they use???
I heard you do Ticks and Leeches, and was gonna comment "DO ROSETTA STONED," but then of course, seen this video as a suggested play, so cheers. Love this song. As a huge fan of Karnivool, Tool, Porcupine Tree, King Crimson, etc, I knew you'd love it. Cheers mate!
Poly-rhythms for days on the drums.
Also, sorry about that, dropping you into the deep end for your second Tool song :)
No worries fella - it's all good :)
For how many days?...10,000 maybe? ;)
You must be very sick man or pure genius to write that kind of lyrics! I'll chose second! J.M.K. is a freaking genius!
I've watched a lot of Tool reaction videos and everyone is left lost for words. Love it!
When i forget to buy tool concert tickets

Lateralus by Tool is based on the Fibonacci sequence. The time signatures and lyrics all relate to spirals and the golden ratio.
“All you know about me’s what I sold you, dumb fuck.”
Are you OGT back from ‘92 from the first EP as well? Honestly, the nerve you must have to call anyone else pretentious.
2catgumbo Your perception of where the song ranks in Tool’s catalog is beside the point. You can’t expect to call one subset of Tool fans pretentious and while acting all holier than thou and not get called out for being a hypocrite. I don’t think Lateralus is Tool’s best song, but to suggest that fans who do think it is are somehow inferior to you is the height of arrogance.
What the hell are you talking about? Lighten up!
I love watching your reaction videos more than any other coming from somebody who understands music and really appreciates the effort put into the production and helps me understand it
Tool embodies the human experience In their music. It's bloody fantastic. You really should check out the track;
Right In Two.
And you will be in a different place in you mind.
this song is like a PhD class when you're still in grade school.
Took me a few listens to fully appreciate this one. It's especially enjoyable knowing it based on real events.
Next time I would go for Schism or Parabol/Parabola.
He's already heard Schism, but definitely Parabol/Parabola
Currently learning this on bass. I love the epic nature of the song and operatic vocals contrasted with rediculous lyrics.
So did you manage to learn that?
@@franmartinez3317 Come on man, 2 years ain't enough
If you want Melody, listen to 'reflection', 'the patient', or 'lateralus'.
You're reaction made me lol. People at work wondered what I was joyfully chuckling at. Thanks. :)
This song is actually part 2 of a 2 part song. The previous song on the album 10,000 Days, "Lost Key (Blame Hoffman)", is the introduction to "Rosetta Stoned."
The song itself is from the perspective of a person on an "trip".
I’d say part 3. Lipan Conjuring makes me think of a shaman guiding someone into a trip.
Don't think it's about alien abduction, think it's about a DMT trip.
DMT, Ayuasca, mescaline or acid... Might capture it better than any piece of art other than Salvador Dali
I keep coming back to this one now and then. Your reaction to this is just hilarious throughout the entire song. Amazing stuff :D
I turely enjoy watching your love for music. I highly recommend listening 46 and 2. One of my favorites. Cant wait to see that video.
'Right in two' is an incredible tool song with poignant lyrics to boot
Jim... thank you! The best song, in my opinion, by TOOL, on one of the best channels on UA-cam. Keep up the incredible work and thank you for all of your contributions, especially to this amazing band.
Wow, thanks!
Please check out Reflection. Literally begging. It's such a beautiful piece of work.
Don't beg!
All tool songs are a beautiful piece of work
dont worry man, you jumped head first into the deep end on this one. Although sometimes they do just like to fuck with the audience a bit lol.
opiateofthemasses preach bro, this ones a tall order right away, hell this wasnt even on my radar as best songs on the Album let alone their catalog, but it can grow on you, its just so out there its a shock to the system, so many better tracks display their brilliance in a more pleasing, i believe he used “melodic” way, Vicarious and Jambi will rock him good and Wings/10000days....well you know 👊🌀
@@cyberdemon1702 🎢🌀🔚🌀➿
“Ride the spiral to the end”
And Spiral Out
That was a pretty intense choice for only your second song. You should probably check out their more accessible songs like The Pot and 46&2.
Ticks and leaches blow your mind
Not that they ever fall short, but the bass lines on this album are all especially good. I think I read somewhere that when they were writing Justin had a lot of stuff he brought to the table first this time around.
Tool is incredible!! You either get them or have no appreciation for genius!
goes same for Primus imo
Tool is the best band ever its my favorite band
@@dewmaster3944 APC comes in second :)
"Holy fuckin shit!!" Is what I said when I first heard this song
really have to listen to this song at least a few more times to really appreciate it. been listening to tool for over twenty years and this song at least dozens of times. it's complicated yet simple at the same time.
Must have been some WILD AS TRIP
I enjoyed your reaction with the grugde (problaby my favorite tool song), if you liked it I recommend you to listen songs from the album lateralus, like the patient, schism, parabol/parabola, lateralus, reflection... Enjoy tool, there is a Lot of good songs, when you finish the album lateralus you can then listen Ænima and 10,000 days, and then with undertow and opiate, but I recommend you that order because of your reaction with the grugde and rosetta stoned.
Love your tool reactions my friend keep it up!!
I love this song. I think you would have enjoyed it even more if you had listened to the song “Lost Keys (Blame Hoffman)” as well in this video. It’s the preceding track on the album (Title: 10,000 Days) and is basically a long introduction to Rosetta Stoned.
Thanks for the vid
Not many would pic this song to listen to
From 10,000 Days, you may want to take a look at Jambi or Right in Two. Also, do some reading up on the singer Maynard's mother and the story that runs through his output..it might give you more grasp when it comes to tackling 'Jimmy' and 'Wings For Marie/10,000 Days'
I think you'd be surprised how much melody is actually in this once you listen to it a few more times. Especially in the bass part and percussion!
Damn that part makes me feel like I'm in outer space
This song wears me out every time. So glad Intension follows the brutal beating afterward :)
Swiss triplets over polyrhythms....EPIC
Subscribed, I want to see more tool reactions, haha.
From a lifelong Tool fan. Listen to the albums in their entirety. They are not meant to be broken up. Enjoy and spiral out!
Love your reactions to TOOL. This, however, is an odd choice this early on. Great none the less. I recommend the song Lateralus, or Reflection, and Ticks and Leeches
Rosetta Stoned is one of my favorites. and you forgot the intro....
kingbassk83 I didn't forget it, I didn't know it had one!
Jim Newstead correct. you can't forget what you you don't know. i watch a lot of tool reaction. you are the one with most knowledge about music. love your reactions.
He is talking about Lost Keys
From what I understand, its about a crazy story from Bill of Green Jello tripping in the desert
You picked a great one. This is my all time favorite
hahaha I watched this when he uploaded it and I still can't believe he just happened to listen to this for his second encounter.
Shout out to Maynard for the Uncle Martin - My Favorite Martian reference! 🤘🏻
Crazy polyrythm... wow
Total f. awesome TOOL song here mate, probably my fav after reflection .
If you think a cover might be cool then check out "No Quarter," if not a cover; check out either "Eulogy," or "Right in Two."
Also.
That bass line at 8:23.... as good as it gets!!!!
Id definatly go with Pushit (Salival) for the next Tool song. Its just beautiful!
Psychedelic experience with humor.
The drums in this song are fucking insanely great
The Patient, nuff said!
Disposition-Reflection-Triad
Its absolutely about an acid trip. When you do acid you believe that you get this great knowledge but after you have come down and try and remember it you cant.
Dmt not LSD-25

Keep going man! You're in for a ride. A brief primer:
Opiate/Undertow: Established their unique blend of crunchy/heavy guitars, primal intensity and intelligent lyrics and concepts. Songs of note: Opiate, Prison Sex, Bottom, Sober, Undertow, Flood
Aenima: Maintained the crunchy heaviness and intensity, but evolved a step further.
Songs of note: The Grudge, The Patient, Parabol/Parabola, Lateralus, Disposition/Reflection/Triad
10,000 Days: Seemed to build off the Lateralus sound, while revisiting some of the elements in their back catalogue ("The Pot" had a bit of a "Prison Sex" vibe, for example. Songs of note: Vicarious, Jambi, 10,000 Days/Wings for Marie, The Pot
Cheers!
Yes!
just do a full stream of listening to Aenima and Lateralus
kthanks
MetallicOpeth maybe..... One day!
lol.. the amount of amazing songs on those albums...specially Aenima, wow his head would explode. Or he'd just enter a constant psychedelic trip. Let's not lose him.
drop acid, put lateralus on repeat and spiral out, keep streaming ;)
Agreed, but throw 10,000 Days in there and you got the entire trinity of what real music is all about. Like you name btw, MetallicOpeth
Listen to 9:56 again before judging the melody of this song, this climax is epic. That said, the song is written with an emphasis on rhythm, that's probably why the melodic section hits so hard.
God damn, shit the bed.
This is Maynards humor in song form.
Thank you Evan - it is a pleasure (most of the time) to do these, and the suggestions are a gold-mine for me! Thanks :)
Jambi or Pushit. The drums in Pushit are awesome, but Jambi is just amazing overall. Definitely more Tool though please :D
This wasn't one of my favorite Tool songs until I read the mumbling lyrics. Once you realize what it's about and how ingeniously they paint this alien abduction/acid trip scenario, it shoots up to top 3. But, I forgot my pen.
Michael Kofman this song is genius is you really think about it. Like how in the hell did someone listen to this music and decide that this song would be perfect to describe an acid trip. Insane.
one hell of a acid trip!!!!!
