Alrighty Than, Picture this if you will, We got our Krispy Kremes, X Files, Area 51 Bob Lazar Documentary, DMT, Ayahuasca, Phycobilin threw on our headphones and got abducted off into outer space by the alien species know as TOOL. If there was ever a song that captured the feeling of the mind altering psychedelic experience Tool absolutely nailed it. Come and hang out with us later for the premier on the channel later today/tonight and we’ll see you all in the live chat/comment section. Also, if ET ever comes down and tells you “you’re the chosen one” head to the ER. GAME OVER
If you are a Tool fan, then you should check out a band called Battling Delirium and the song Tantric, and tell me who you think the singer sounds like, and once you hear them there's a surprise twist with this band that I think you'll love. When you do react to them I'll tell you the surprise in the comments section. Definitely a rabbit hole y'all should check out.
You SHOULD have heard Lost Keys with this. It bleeds into it on the album and helps the context here on Rosetta Stoned. It helps you understand why she’s so stoned, so to speak
I remember the first time i heard this song. It was like my entire brain melted. There is so much going on in this song if you dont appreciate it you dont know music.
When you listen again, please listen to Lipan Conjuring and Lost Keys. This sets the stage for the protagonist getting high in Lipan Conjuring and then visiting the hospital in Lost Keys where the doctors interrogate him. Then this song, Rosetta Stoned, is the protagonist telling them what happened to him with him being locked up in a mental ward. Strong influence from Phillip K. Dick and Robert Heinlein stories.
One of those incredible songs you can listen to years after you first heard it and still pick out new details. The bass riff down the stretch is absolutely hypnotic.
I am so happy to see ya'll come back to this one. Easily one one of my favorite songs to listen to and play--just get lost in the repetition and fuzz. Covered my eyes and threw this whole album on last time I made myself some mushroom tea to help process the passing of my brother. When this song came on, I could have sworn I was being lifted by the sound and wrapped in it like a warm, fuzzy blanket. I could feel the notes on my fingers as if I was playing. Each bass hit created these lightning-like flashes of colors behind my eyelids. There were eyes everywhere I "looked" and right about here - 7:26 - an alligator showed up. I couldn't tell you what it was trying to say to me, but I felt so much relief and couldn't stop myself from crying for a solid 5 minutes. Tool will forever hold an incredibly special place in my heart, and I have loved every minute of this journey with you guys. Thank you for sharing
I saw them twice in 2006 and they opened both shows with Lost Keys and Rosetta Stoned. Unfortunately I didn't get into those songs yet, since Rosetta is probably their most complex song. And at the second show I was lucky enough to witness a performance of Wings and.....there are no words.
Love the way you edit the end of your vids, always. This one was awesome in particular. "Holy f'n sh't, holy f'n sh't" 😂 Very fitting for the track and experience 😂
Years ago I ate some “candies” (Pez) by myself and decided to revisit this song. I don’t know what it was, the altered state, the state of mind, the environment… But tears fell out of my eyes when “I forgot my pen” happened. Had to go outside and laugh my balls off for like an hour 😆 One of the best experiences I’ve ever had
I live by Area 51 in Nevada no joke. I listen to this album every night and get stoned and trip as I look at the stars. It's crazy I never heard Area 51 mentioned in this song till now WOW
First time I saw Tool live they played a 9-song setlist because they played mostly their longest songs. Was pleasantly surprised when they played this one.
This album brings back so many memories, probably because I basically played it on repeat for the better part of a year after it finally came out. I know every damn word🤘🏼😅
Never could associate any lyrical meaning with this song till I watched your reaction: My thinkin is that it's an ode to all the brilliant ideas/thoughts that were forgotten during trips/when you're in an altered state; and that it's a big, comical analogy that says to not dwell on what could've been. (Some instrumental symbolism too when you hear the clapping. The clapping that's also at the end of The Grudge. A song about letting go.) 🤘
The spider riff has got to be one of the most amazing musical parts put to recording really drags you in and won't let go. Love Rosetta Stoned my fav Tool song next to Schism.
There, my name is Coimbra and I love hearing your comments, especially about my favorite band. They performed in Lisbon (Portugal), but unfortunately I couldn't see them. Maybe in the next tournament. Please listen/comment 10,000 Days (Wings for Marie I and II). Thanks. Hugs!
Thanks for doing more TOOL, now you should do some more TOOL...LOL ...JK guys, you're channel has done nothing but get better over time, thanks for all you do!
Most fans of the band know the many jokes and references peppered in this song, but I'm not sure if many of us catch the "Bob, help me" near the end as a reference to Bob Dobbs, the salesman prophet of the Church of the Subgenius. I'm surprised Tool hasn't referenced it more.
I like it when people say tool sucks. Cuz i know that we will never ever have a band like them ever again. And those people can keep listening to there britney albums. Its like there those people that believe there was only one god at the time of our creation. There were 4. Adam Justin Maynard and Big Dan
Man I want a girl that can sit there with me and enjoy this good kinds of music and really enjoy listening with it too me. I turn down so many girls for a serious relationship when that comes up bc every girl I hang out with, idc if they are white as snow lol they all are obsessed with trap music and I am just done with it all and I have come back to this music because it's my true love for music. Hopefully I'll find one who appreciates it and enjoys it with me if I have to introduce it to her otherwise bc I'm not desperate so I have the patience to find her lol.
There is more context to this song if you listen to Lost Keys before it. It’s the beginning of this person narrating the songs story. Definitely I recommend the next time you hear it that way.
A song about a stoner that was literally abducted by aliens, they told him how the world would end. So he tries to explain it to people, they think he's crazy, and lock him up in an asylum. And he laments about how he wouldn't be in that situation if he just had a pen on him. The initial chaotic lyrics are supposed to represent what he tell people. And they just assume he's crazy. Like the child's "There's a monster in my bedroom" claims. Just go back to sleep, honey.
Theres no available link with the two combined on UA-cam ever since Tool made their music available on streaming platforms. Or yes we would have done the 2 together

The only one wanting this song to be over, is Danny's drum kit.

agreed and that monster build into "Overwhelmed as one would be......" Man thats such a badass song.
First time I heard that verse it took my breath away and i nearly crashed my car
I once learnt all the lyrics of this song for a fishing trip, just to shock the boys that I could sing along to it 🤣
I'm so happy that Adam knows what guitar tone I like.
Thanks Adam.
This entire album is a masterpiece.

True, but they all are so....

Exactly you won’t understand this song until you listen to those two first 💯

Would love to see wings
I saw them in Ohio around the same time and I wish I appreciated the album then like I do now because it would be an even more amazing experience.
This is gonna be dope.
At first I didn’t hang long enough too like this ..then I was like lol hold on fella ..this is a masterpiece for real🔥❤️

I was addicted to this song got like 3 months…
One of Tool’s most fun and enjoyable songs and my favourite off of 10000 Days
You guys have got to see Tool live it's worth whatever they are charging now I promise it's life-changing
Can confirm. Seen them a handful of times going back 20 years and each time it’s like a religious experience. There is nothing else like them.
Got to see them for the first time at OKC few weeks ago! I was stoked the moment they played Jambi, Rosetta Stoned, and Invincible!
Some of Danny's best work on this one. Insane.
It is the album before Fear Inoculum, but there were 14 years between them.
What a song and what an album. This is arguably the best song they ever did
One of my favorite Tool songs.
ustedes son los mejores que reaccionan a tool
This song gets a big chefs kiss from me!
Stay Metal!
🤘😎🤘
Gawd damn, shit the bed

The song is actually about a friend of theirs that tripped out in the desert and came and told them about his experience.
You can look the lyrics up
My fave but one of the legit best bands in history ✌️
Whole Nother level 🖤🎸
The Tooliest of Tool songs. Beats out Third Eye by a hair.
Nothing beats Third Eye. Greatest song ever written, ever
Third eye is way more intense
@@jessietaylor790 I was dubious but that second ever won me over, over.

That clapping at 8:36 is Danny´s left foot.
This song in the middle is like a crazy time signature lile 7-12 or something crazy.

Massively underrated
This really deserves to be heard after the previous song, Lost Keys (blame hoffman)
For anyone who hasn't already Please for your own good look up the lyrics for this one. I laughed my ass off reading them.
Thanks for doing more TOOL, now you should do some more TOOL...LOL ...JK guys, you're channel has done nothing but get better over time, thanks for all you do!

Have you guys done a reaction to "of the leper butterflies" by ne obliviscaris? If not I would recommend it 😎🤘
Damn, could you imagine if this was true? Maynard had the fuckin answers and forgot his damn pen! Hopefully it wasn't that important;]
Gotta do wings 1 & 2 next
Yeeesssss man
Forgot my pen
Fucking love tool:)
This is like Primus's Tommy the Cat and Tool made a mashup.
Jambi the Feline
You have to listen to Lost Keys(blame hoffman) first to get the full feel of this song
"Dead head chemistry" =
Bad LSD passed around by The Graleatful Dead fans in their shows.

Should of had to lyrics up for you guys. But it's all good. Reading prolly would if taking away from the music

Really wish you guys would've started with Lost Keys first, it bleeds into Rosetta Stoned
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Don’t forget your pen
You got to play Lost Keys before
Yup, I was just going to write the same thing, as it is a prelude to the whole "story" in "Rosetta Stoned". Lots of Tool "reactors" miss that.
Can’t listen to it without the Lost keys lead in though…
You cannot listen to this song without Lost Keys. ????
Theres no available link with the two combined on UA-cam ever since Tool made their music available on streaming platforms. Or yes we would have done the 2 together
Take some LSD before the show it's an amazing experience man
Doing this song alone always seems wrong
