Saw you reviews and decided to buy a Walther Rotex RM8 .177. Fantastic rifle. Walther should pay you guys a commission. Thanks for your videos. I really enjoy them.
Hows the rifle been? thinking of returning to air rifles since I did it when younger and dunno if I should just get a HW99S or spend some more on Ultra SE/RM8
Thanks for the revue lads, was looking between getting the 177 walther, the 110 or the bsa r10, I think for the price I,will go for the Rotex, that was damb good shooting on a breezy day! Well done.
Great review guys. I was hooked on this rifle after watching your review so bought one today. It is superbly accurate and even the instructor at the shooting range was impressed with its accuracy . I used the air arms field pellets and was pretty much hitting the same hole at 25 metres. well within the size of a drawing pin. Cheers si and davy
Excellent review, I've since bought an rm8 matched with a hawke 4-16 x 50 airmax scope. It's the dogs danglies, 6mm spinners at 50 yards, every time. Keep up the good work men, i listened and I learned, thanks.
This review (and being able to shoulder / fire an RM8) helped change my mind. It was either a HW 110 or BSA Ultra, both superb guns but this Walther in .177 with beech stock is just as clinically and devastatingly accurate for a lot less money. Nice video thanks guys.....keep 'em coming. Perhaps see you at the NEC in February.
Just to clarify Si, my silencers are made in the UK & sold / sent only where legal to do so. No silencers are made, sold or sent to Australia as (unfortunately) such items are prohibited in Oz. Cheers Matt Winser
An awesome review as usual guys. I really get a lot from these videos. The RM8 really seems like a great rifle for the cost but on that note the both of you are excellent shots with a wealth of knowledge. Thanks for the videos and keep up the great work.
and again a great review and I get 110 shot count and I agree never fill above 200bar as 232bar is 3345.45psi and that's a great pressure and I do not go below 70 shoot to 70+ a great honest review thank you both for your time I use rws super dome in mine and its great to 50m and very accurate and I use a walther 4+40ao scope and thank you both again
Great review si and davy.very nice gun.the last two review have been very helpful.look at buying a multishot pcp.i have the air arms s400 which has been a good pcp.atb.
Hi si you said on this review it's wood underneath with the soft touch but I have taken the but pad of mine and it is hollow my is the .22 version cokin
Watching this now, knowing that Umarex reviewed the regulator of the Rotax series, one can tell the difference it made yet. This got the old reg watching the chrony, swinging 3-5bar shot-to-shoot. The new one is supposed to stay within 1bar. I would love to see what you guys can do with the new version.
I was thinking , will Davy let you get a word in , the man just won't be quiet. Great review on the gun , although i feel the scope mil dot's were a bit bulky, but a nice scope still. daz
To be honest the .177 has a better trajectory, the .22 is very good but has quite a loopy trajectory at sub 12ft/ib. Lots of people will say the .22 has harder hitting power which is not really true, it has the same inertia at lower speed as a 177 at higher speed give or take. But thats another conversation lol
After seeing this review I have took the plunge and bought my first Air Rifle I went for the 1.77 I would love to get it with that Silencer, I can't seem to find any contact details for Ian Blade Newman on FB, Do you have a contact email etc for him please? Also I wanted to thank you for a brill honest review very refreshing to see you guys being yourself and not playing upto the camera like many other youtube reviewers. thx again
Si my name is Joshua Smith. I love in the U.S. I am a proud owner of a brand new Air Arms Prosport 177. I had one prior but had to send it back to Pyramid Air because of cosmetic reasons. I would like to know if I should keep it at factory power level of 15-16fpe or go the 12ft/lb route. if the 12ft/lb route how to go about it. From whom I should get it from and/or who should I get to do it (tune/tuner)? lastly what pellets should I use to break it in and what pellets do most Prosports usually prefer? I know that every rifle is different and so will the pellets it chooses but is there a general preference? Thank you for your help. Joshua
Hello, Thankd for the RM8 vids! : ) Do you still have the gun? Any issues with either the bolt action loading mech or the regulator or any leaks? Thanks, Gary
Dont know if there is something with your camera, but the scope did not look clear at all, especially at full zoom It was clear only in the center, but further to the sides it was quite blurry Otherwise good review and even better shooting!
It's because the camera could not be fitted how it should be to the scope and so the needed eye relief changed as I zoomed in. The optics are very clear in reality.
torn between one of these and the gamo phox/coyote hmmm ....this black version do you know what the base stock is made of ? coated beech etc or some cheap composite wood like MDF ?
Si if you were only to own one air rifle which would it be regardless of weather it's pcp or springer and Is the sfs imp the best springer you have ever owned?
Hey, Good Show! I just came upon it and I really like it! I just Subscribed... Nice Gun! Ive been looking at one of these lately and trying to decide if its going on my short list. Is it regulated??? The one ive been looking at here in America is a .25 and i believe it is Regulated...
Is that an aftermarket moderator/suppressor fitted? Sorry Im kinda new to Air Rifles ( But a regular Airsofter ) The reason I ask is Im getting this rifle and wondering where to get the part from and what its called?
Can anyone please tell me what's the difference or any between the R8 and the RM8 ?? what's does the M stand for ? I can find no reference in any review other than some are marked R8 on the block and others RM8 maybe this is the later model ? also some reviewers say that the buddy bottle cannot be removed and only filled via the forehand underside valve, while others say it can be unscrewed when empty and a new fully charged one screwed in ?? with extra buddy bottles being available along with extra pellet mags, very handy when out for a days FT shoot, no need to lug around a divers bottle or pump.
RM8 is almost a Mk2 if you will. However, the rifles are more or less identical. The "M" stands for Magazine I believe and was only added after Audi threatened Walther with a law suit over a trademark of the name R8. The bottle isn`t intended or meant to be removed, but is removable.
hi guys im looking at this for sniping rabbits but i'm conflicted on what caliber. i am used to .177 what would you guys choose from your experience is better for small game with this RM8 .177 or .22? also what would be your preferred hitting distance?
benbikerboy I have this rifle personally and the weight of the gun is a disadvantage but it all depends on your strength but the .177 has a better accracy than a 22

They’ll do alright out of Walther and rightly so for the time and effort they put in they are better than any suited up salesman
Thanks for the great review. Nice shooting as always Si and Davey.

Great show lads. You've helped this first time PCP rifle buyer make his decision . Now just got to decide between polymer or beech.
This review (and being able to shoulder / fire an RM8) helped change my mind. It was either a HW 110 or BSA Ultra, both superb guns but this Walther in .177 with beech stock is just as clinically and devastatingly accurate for a lot less money.

Nice rifle you got there..👍
Two outstanding reviews on the RM8 guys. Now as a beginner in air rifle shooting particularly in PCP what would you recommend? .177 or .22.?
+Ratel Mike 22 without a doubt.
I bought both they awesome guns
To be honest the .177 has a better trajectory, the .22 is very good but has quite a loopy trajectory at sub 12ft/ib.

Great review, lads. Have you had the opportunity to try an FAC RM8?
Is the breach a casting or a machined block you can tell the casting may have a seam down the centre
nice video wow good job

It's because the camera could not be fitted how it should be to the scope and so the needed eye relief changed as I zoomed in. The optics are very clear in reality.
What pellets were you putting through it? If I missed it in the vid, I apologise!
torn between one of these and the gamo phox/coyote hmmm ....this black version do you know what the base stock is made of ? coated beech etc or some cheap composite wood like MDF ?
What a great video, your shooting is superb. Is that your big house?
Si if you were only to own one air rifle which would it be regardless of weather it's pcp or springer and Is the sfs imp the best springer you have ever owned?
Great review! I'm convinced, are you located in Sandwell (Midlands) too?

I've been reviewing the rm8 and the ultra se ate they both just as accurate as each other?
