Hi Chris, thankyou for time, in making your film. Personally, I love the look of the R10. In my humble opinion, BSA are where they should be with this rifle. I'm a great believer in, you get what you pay for. I've heard issues with leaks, with yhe R10's, but this may be an issue in transportation from factory, to individual outlets. They're not allowed to be transported with air inside. So with no pressure inside, the seals may move. When charged up again at the shop/store, obviously, the seals may have moved and won't seal. The Air pressure would have kept the seals in place. If the gunsmith doesn't check them over, there will be air pressure issues. From what I can see from the reviews, the new R12, released on 1st Sept, this year, the action is a one piece block, so hopefully less seals will be required, and less chance of problems. The R10 and R12 both look fabulous kit and when you think, what BSA have done for us, they are where they ought to be in air rifle manufacture. The two BSA's are fabulous air rifles. Usually light pellets for springer's and heavier for PCP with exceptions of coarse! If you suddenly get a shotgun patern always check the suppressor is tight and the internals are tight as most are can be stripped so check both end caps and remove the silencer and check with a torch for lead marks on the inside edge of the exit end, You did not mention head sizes, unfortunately for our wallets this is a pain but so worth it buy a couple of mixed test sets, Generally Weihrauch 4.51 or 5.51 in .22. Air Arms 4,.2 or 5.52 in ,22. FX toss a coin! BSA variable from model to model and I will stop there as your probably bored by now, call me a know it all but I am 60 and been shooting for at least 50 years including firearms the silencer problem happened to my Father in laws .22 rim fire and he was pulling his hair out, when I wandered in and showed him the lead marks he was delighted it was fixed but I think he hates me! I don't know which part of the country you live in but would love to meet up for a shoot.
Don’t use jsb pellets in testing as they are not the best for quality control. I test with mainly Bisley/H&N these days(namely LRG, baracuda ft/8, FTT).
Sorry but such tests should be provided after sorting of pellets per grains and pellet diameter resizing (special tools needed_) , next in no-wind weather or closed range... despite of best producers like jsb/qys/h&n ...

Shouldn't need to be told the basics if they are doing these tests, they normally have a gun rest on a very wobbly table, brilliant

I know the BSA r10 is regulated as I have one in 22 but is the rm8? I know it's a lot cheaper 👍
Yes. The RM8 is regulated.
@@southwestshooters it is cheap then I must admit I'm not a fan of the plastic trigger but apart from that seems a good rifle. Good review mate just subbed 👍
@@mrvoorhees2627 thank you!
Hi chris you called the weather a raine but its a rotex rm8 colin
My bad.
At 30 meters I wouldn't call any of those groups particularly good and certainly not exceptional, I've used both the R10 and the RM8 both are capable of far better accuracy than you can shoot.
You are absolutely welcome to your own opinion Michael. Feel free to upload any evidence of your superior shooting. Thanks for the comment.
yes i would say that was like some kid shooting petty poor effort
@@malmal5158 feel free to show everyone evidence of your superior shooting. I'm being totally serious. I'd love to see it.

R10 is a fab little rifle
I would check the crown and the silencer alignment on that R10. Something not right there.
What calibre are both rifles and are they Sub 12.ft/lbs
177. Sub 12.
@@southwestshooters great thx for the info, any chance you could do a review of FAC R10 etc as looking to purchase either.22/.177
@@cockneykevan1 I am sorry, I won't be able to as I don't have a ticket for FAC! I can only speculate that one of these in FAC would be awesome, but I don't think I will be able to review one.
why do not write the distance down in the target?

Shame you didn't do the 10.34's!!
for Walther Rotex RM8 only jsb heavy is perfect try it and you will see
anyone tell me what a flyer is ?
Do more reviews comparison with pellets
walther rm8 .177 using qys 9.56 heavies ..... 100 shots at 30 metres fall within a 3mm circle of aim point repeatedly
sir test with px100
Don’t use jsb pellets in testing as they are not the best for quality control.
I test with mainly Bisley/H&N these days(namely LRG, baracuda ft/8, FTT).
R8 How much
Sorry but such tests should be provided after sorting of pellets per grains and pellet diameter resizing (special tools needed_) , next in no-wind weather or closed range... despite of best producers like jsb/qys/h&n ...
Is the rm8 in your experience any good for hunting
Hello Nigel, I don't hunt. But I'd imagine it would be perfect! Super accurate and robust.... Perfect in several ways.
Try to clean rotex it will eliminate inaccuraci
Great review!
Thanks for doing some pellet testing. It makes such a difference!
R10's are great, especially the Super Carbine you've got. I'd go for the black soft-touch version, just so you can be a little more carefree when in the field - wouldn't want to damage that lovely Minelli Walnut.
Maybe you could get your hands on an HW110K as another slight upgrade from the Prof's RM8?
Really enjoy your work!
Shoot well and stay safe.

Thank you sir. I will see if I can get a HW110 or HW100 to do a comparison. I think that would be a wonderful idea! Thank you for your kind words. I have been struggling to find motivation to keep making videos, but nice comments inspire me to continue! Take care.

I enjoy the vids! Looks like you and the prof have a good deal of fun. I’m in the process of try to tempt another young dad in my village towards buying an air rifle - I’d love a shooting buddy. Hunting on your own is great but a plinking buddy would be just as welcomed. 👍
You definitely need a sturdier rest!
Working on it!
Rm8 was under a lot of movement and re positioning so not a fair. Trial
trying not to seem like an ass you should definitely tries the JSB 10.34
Both eyes open
Not always my style. But I do sometimes.
To cut a very long story short.................simply buy an FX Maverick .25 tuned at 65fpe & 33grn ZAN slugs.............everything you could want from an airgun.
I am so pleased you have a gun that works so well for you! Not my thing, but totally understand that you dig it.
I love my R10 with a vector veyron scope it’s accurate and looks beautiful
I’m sure the rm 8 is also accurate but my god it’s ugly 😖
Loose the tripod and get a decent one, bench rest shooters wouldn’t give those plastic things houseroom!.
I understand. But its just a start. I will look into it.
Don’t see the point in comparing 2 guns where one is twice the price ?? & I don’t care what u think ??
I think you are being slightly ignorant here John. Firstly, someone might enjoy knowing that despite the price difference, the RM8 still holds it's own against the R10. This might be valuable for some people to know. Secondly, not caring what I think is something you are totally able to do. Either way, you are the one who took the time to tell me how you don't care, so I guess, realistically, you must care - because you took the time to comment. Still, thanks for continuing to feed what has been, by some margin, my most popular video ever.
never never the RM8 is so bad ! i think here is a battle england vs germany and england must win...
The prat forgets to lock the catch for the mag and then wonders why the group is not very good. der.
Your sheds fell over
