If Plunderstorm is the future I quit.

  • @kingk1974

Totally agree... I would not play WoW if there was no PvP. I pretty much haven't raided since the first season of CATA.

  • @andresousa8806

plunderstorm doesnt have anything to do with wow pvp style...if they want to play plunder go do it, dont axe the wow pvp lol stop your own agendas thanks

  • @Erathoor

i want wow pvp! not plunderstorm! its not the same. and all the ppl complain its the old players like hydra. maybe move on if you burned after 20 years. split of the game? than its dead. you think you do but you dont

  • @drewwil891

I hope not.. I love PvP but that ain’t it

  • @alexanderpondarius8586

This misinformation about cata needs to stop...yes people left pvp cata for mobas...because moba was the big new shiny...pvp in cata was good....i remeber cdew in wod saying cata was one of the best versions of wow pvp....also steering wheel mage was wrath where you just spammed icelance all day. The biggest exodus from cata was from casual and pve due to the increased difficulty of the game and the world revamp.

  • @ign0bilium

If no PVP, I would quit instantly and never look back

  • @wideout7838

plunderstorm has a very very low skill cap which is one of the single biggest draws to pvp in wow imo. theres absolutely no chance plunderstorm would EVER replace real arena lol...

DF and the new talents were good for the game, but not good for PvP. M+ hasn't felt this good since Legion, and world content has been popping off. Only PvP has declined this expansion due to mobility creep, micro-CC, micro-slow, balance and just general lack of effort from Blizzard.

  • @rawrbawr1656

Only PvPers could see Blitz and one extra BG next expansion as "blizzard investing in pvp". We've been neglected for so long and it shows. Can you imagine if next expansion there was 1 new M+ dungeon and they made it slightly faster.

  • @Kronosbattlemaps

Pvp at end of mop was the most balanced the game ever was. Just keep class tuning constant and pvp will be popular. None of this endless weeks of broken classes eg the ret, dh plauges.

  • @andrewshandle

In MoP by Blizzards own numbers, PvP was more popular than PvE, so it wasn't that long ago when the average player used to play some casual BGs and Arenas on a daily or weekly basis. Participation was incredibly high, and class design was pretty great back then too.

We need an arena server with geared and ready to go characters. No addons allowed.

Something I think is worth pointing out if Plunderstorm becomes a stand alone game with huge success and a bustling competitive scene. A large portion of the praise I see coming from the OG arena wow streamers is how fun it is relative to being chill and not taking itself serious. That will go RIGHT out the window if it lands itself a healthy pro scene/league. I don't want to sound too harsh but if that happens, every single one of the pvp streamers outside of MAYBE snutz would be a few league ranks lower than actual pros coming from other BRs to compete in real tournies. I'm not sure they realize just how insane the younger BR players are.

One thing ive noticed is we do glaze over things with nostalgia goggles.

  • @yuno3166

Yeah, i only pvp in wow....

  • @jacksonlittle5993

I think plunderstorm is fun and could stick around but to be the sole future of WoW pvp I probably wouldn't pvp anymore. In no capacity can it replace arena and is so far detached from the style of pvp so many WoW players love. I feel like it's way easier for someone Like Hydra to say this because he's already been r1 so many times so he's essentially done everything possible to do in rated arena. So of course he wants to move on, there's nothing left for him to chase. TBH it would be better to ask a random community member who's like 2400 exp or something. I hate using an extreme outlier such as a multi R1 as a person to ask because their view may not be shared with a large portion of the community. You should always go with what happens most often and a more general example the common player can relate with, not cherry pick a 3500 exp player which is like 0.1% of the population. That way you target a larger demographic and satisfy more people overall. Using an outlier means generally their pov will be at one extreme end of the spectrum and you most often want to be somewhere in the middle.

I think the key for WoW to go forward and make both sides happy is, build each class out in a basic form. This is what you get if you pick it. That's it. Reduce mobility down again, reduce crowd control. Them build a pvp talent tree and a pve talent tree. Here, they can focus on mobility, crowd control, and utility for each side. Activate pve tree, it increases dmg to pve content. Activate pvp tree, get a trinket and resilience.
