Oh my goodness thank you for showing me your "before" and saying that it takes time and engaging my core and glutes more because I kept thinking I was doing something wrong but I just need to strengthen my muscles and practice!

@@aerialpractice yes I've done a few where you start in a hip hang, crochet your legs and pull up and then either dive forward into a hip hang or dive sideways into a gazelle but I would strongly recommend having a spotter for those since it's scary!

I recommend getting a freestanding frame bc they tend to go higher and u can have different settings and u won't have to check if your ceiling is sturdy enough. It can also go outside

I dont have plenty of fabric to work with haha! If i need more space i need to get rid of my swivel, but i m looking into new swivels that combine with the carabiner into one, so maybe that will help me to get just a little extra inch.

I was also like that too when I first learned this trick. Really painful. I wish I can tell you easy tips, but in reality it's quite a lot of strengthening to tighten so that your muscles are so tough you wont feel this pressure anymore. You can try the 10 days workout challenge, it's specialy designed to build aerial strength. After that when you try this again, remember to keep your leg muscles as tight as you can, keep imagining it and very soon you will be able to feel comfortable doing it! True story!
Juli do you find it easier to do this hook once you are in the flow? maybe it is harder (2:40) here because the hammock doesnt wrap properly like it does in the flow.
I feel like it takes more strength and flexibility to do the version in 2:40 . If you also find it challenging when you are up, send me a video let me see where you are at now.

Glad you enjoy the video! My ceiling is not high at all. I have a lot of limitations so got to test and safely do what i can. It's about 2.8M
