    I am currently cutting all my lines out on my 2006 2500 ram rod and replacing them with steel braided lines and copper nickel . Similar to a race Truck 😂 I am done removing that tank just to replace the same line over and over .. It's a absolutely ridiculous designand job to do in the driveway . . And then once you start the process . If you live in the northern states you better be ready to replace every line from front to back . Probably one of the most horrible brake repair jobs to do as a normal dude in the driveway by far .

      I'm pretty sure it's a common failure point for many pickups. A lot of salt under there.

    stainless steel brake lines should be a manufacturer option, in my opinion.

    That’s a nice kit of fittings etc
    Did you try to put any coatings on the nicopp lines ?
    You are correct that is super awkward and hard on your body to work up under there, the older you get the worse that gets

    • @CTSCAPER
      @CTSCAPER  9 місяців тому

      The nickel copper lines don't need coatings. They may turn green but are supposed to either not rust or rust more slowly.

    Great video I have the same truck I hope you'll do a series on your truck check your fuel tank straps they break at weird times two from salt I love fluid film you may need to apply it twice in those spots has it collects Dustin works even better

      It's an awesome truck! I've already done both fuel tank straps and a lot of other stuff that goes with age. I figure rather than repair someone else's junk I'll fix a truck with a known history. There are a bunch of videos about repairs on the truck on the chnnel if you're interested. Thanks for watching!

      @@CTSCAPER I would be interested in watching those other videos I hear a fast fuel pump is good too cuz being injector pump with burnout if it ever loses fuel pressure costing big money to fix I know a friend of mine has one in Connecticut with 50,000 original miles completely rust-free always garage plastic still on the interior

      @@chuckb9867 I wish I garaged my truck in the winter or undercoated it yearly. I replaced the lift pump a few years ago with the OEM pump. I'm pretty sure it hadn't been working for years, when I changed the fuel filter and bumped the starter it didn't prime the filter. I check fuel pressure every oil change now and know I can change the lift pump in 2-3 hours for around $100 if I need to. My truck doesn't do any heavy work anymore so luckily no problems when the fuel pump wasn't working.

    Hi, Great video, I broke my vent tube trying to remove mine, you said you got yours from Rockauto do you have a part number for it? Thanks.

    • @CTSCAPER
      @CTSCAPER  Рік тому

      Here is a link to the part I bought for my truck on Rock Auto www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=7765976&pt=1000379&jsn=1 . Rock auto doesn't list it under the name of the truck. You can use the part number to find it either somewhere else online or at your local parts store. Please TRIPLE check for fit when you get the part. There are many different variations of automotive parts and you don't want to mess up your axle. Good luck!
