The best video for a double flare on UA-cam.I watched over 30 .They don't show you the part about measuring the tube with the side of the adapter. Most showed me to make it the whole length of it, and the filing part is better.I tried 10 times got 1 good flare and broke my crappy Pittsburg tool adapter.
I'm glad to know there is an easier tubing now available for making brake lines. This stuff may have been on the market for a long time, but I just didn't know it. It use to be if you looked and seen a copper brake line on a vehicle, you knew that it had been Jerry Rigged in other places. When making steel lines , I would usually heat the end with a flame to help aneal it between crimps. Always had problems with it splitting the flare without a little heat.
So very clear cut and easy to follow along. Thank you! I need to double flare a steel line on my boat. The fuel line is (was) steel and would vapor lock. I decided to test out removing a section of the steel line by the cylinder head and routing gasoline rated rubber line away from the source of heat. While that fixed the problem, the single flare i put on the steel line is a big no-no for this application, as the sharp edge is eating into the rubber fuel line. Now that I know the solution works, I'll be doing it right. I thought I'd be paying someone to double flare the line. NOPE! You've paved the way forward!
Thanks for the video I've just had my dad's car fail the m.o.t the bra K line burst whilst on the test in england . I was really confused with the double flare but you're a legend i now understand thank you so much you have a new subscriber from Oxford England.
Pretty good video sir. I never even heard of a double flare before. Ive never replaced any brake lines either. I learned how to do flares when i went to community college. I was doing flares on soft copper,im sure its a little different with this material. Thank you.
What if you have to flare the line while it's on the vehicle? such as the line running down from the master cylinder that doesn't need replaced. I guess I would have to remove it from the vehicle to flare it?
I never knew brake lines were double flared into I redid them all on a tug and filled the master cylinder up with brake fluid and they all dripped a little because I single flared them all. lol now I know why the double flared means
I have problems getting the line to stay where I put it in the tool itl slides back & I tightened the bejesus out of it ( steel) line I now use copper nickel line easier to use not easy to do & I pay attention !!
Just redid the lines on my car without a file or deburring tool. It's definitely *possible* to deburr with a knife like I did but uh...this way looks easier
Excellent tip on lubing steel lines with only brake fluid to avoid splitting the end of the line.

Glad it worked out for you and you got it figured out
The new "in-car" double flare tools are a game changer (Capri). Smaller tool, self centering die insert, & perfect flares everytime.

No you can take the tools to the car. I put it in the vise so it would be easier to video.
Just found your channel and Subscribed. Very nice video
Can you use that tool to do Metric lines or do they make a different one for metric lines
I don't know I don't do anything with metric line sorry!
thank YOU Anthony.
Thanks for watching Rus!
Thanks for the great job very simple and easy appreciations 🇩🇰🤣👌👍

I bought some copper nickel (so they say) 1/4" tubing off of Ebay. How can I be sure it is Nicopp tubing?
Great video, thanks 👍

what happens if your "anvil"/die doesn't have a measuring mark?
I'm not sure why they would do that to you.
