I've always known something was off with the clothes I make from different patterns. You've just taught me an extremely valuable lesson. This is a GAME CHANGER!! I feel so blessed to have found your channel. You make everything plain.
I had to stop this several times in order to have laugh breaks. "Band-aid" dress for Vegas, OMG too funny!! All laughing aside this was fabulous. I've never been good at fitting the "real" way. I know how to make it work for me but now I see how to do it the real way. Thanks Lady!!

You just blew my mind! I've been struggling with fit for so long (bust and hip) and it's prevented me from tackling more complicated patterns or using more expensive fabrics. I'm going to have to rewatch a few times to make sure I understand, but I absolutely loved your video! I never considered cutting the pattern based on finished garment measurements and adding in my own ease. Brilliant! Oh my goodness!THANK YOU sooooooooo much!. It sounds like your daughter has the same curvy body as me. No wonder ALL of my adjustments and muslins never fit properly. I never knew HOW to make the adjustments. What a blessing ! You are making so much sense! My butt sticks out in the back. But the pattern is assuming the back and the front are the same. Again- I loved this. Gotta run now-to watch more of your videos. Amazing information! Nobody wants to admit that sometimes, African American women have body shapes that are not like Barbie. As a result, our alterations need to look different too. Thank you for changing my life.

What an amazing class, its as if a lightbulb came on in the whole room. I recently lost 175lbs , i was once a size 26 but now i am a size 2 or 4 depending on where the garment was made and they still don't fit right so i have decided to start making my own clothes. But i want to learn the proper way to do this, it is all so life altering,. Thank you so very much for being such an amazing teacher. I went to a class at one of the "craft" stores and walked away more confused than when i went in. Almost walked away from my new found hobby and passion till i found you. Weight loss changes and shifts our bodies tremendously and having the knowledge to adjust with the changing sizes is important.

Wow! I just found you and I'm so glad I did. I am a voluminous curvy lady that also happens to be short. I'm talking SHORT! 5 feet tall short. I'm so sick and tired of buying these things that are humongous to fit my hips and then the top gapes, the length comes down to my knees. There is no accommodation for a short waist. The waist comes down to my hips. I've been sewing for a long time, but for everyone else but me. It's time to take back my clothes and with your videos I know I can do it. You are a funny sassy lady and God sent you to me because he just couldn't take seeing me walk around in fish tail shirts anymore.

OMG! I could have used your instructions years ago! I look be to watch you, and you have taught me so very much! I have been seeing since high school. And sad to say, I have never really learned about fitting. I have seen for myself, and my daughter, and we both are big girls. I am a quilter also. And honestly, whenever I did make anything just according to the pattern, it really didn't fit very well. I will probably watch your videos again! Thank you so much! ☺️

Fantastic videos with great advice! This has helped me measure my daughter properly. She's been blessed with some extra assets and has trouble finding youthful clothing.

Oh wow--- Very informative. I was wondering why I should be almost three sizes bigger according to the pattern I am attempting to cut. Thank you for this nice tutorial.
Thank you for this particular video. It explained things that I was not aware of as far as the fitting issues I was having with my muslin. I'm trying create my own sloper pattern and could not figure out why my muslin samples did not come out right. Thank again so much I will continue to watch your videos because you explain why fitting and exact measurements are a plus. I will be working on a commercial pattern that I liked and making my measurement adjustments to make my body sloper. God Bless You.

You're awesome. It is so true about using your high bust measurement to determine size. I am a DDD. If I used my bust to determine size it would be gigantic on my arms and shoulders.
