These interviews would be so much better without Joe....Warren is so patient putting up with this guy....he is so disrespectful......Becky is great.
You can tell Becky knows a lot about fundamental analysis and accounting. The new rules concerning unrealized gains with marketable securities-- like Berkshire has-- will have a big impact on the bottom line of certain financial stocks in 2018, 2019 and beyond. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Joe is insecure. He can’t keep up with Becky and certainly not Buffet when it comes to value investing. Becky is definitely on her game. I think she’s been at every BH shareholder meeting over the last 10 years. She’s also been mentored by Buffet over many years. I’m sure she’s read Security Analysis and the intelligent investor. Perhaps she’s also picked up an intermediate accounting textbook or majored in accounting.

Even if you conservative and agree with Joe on the issues, you still have to cringe about his awkward way of talking, I had to skip past it. He added no value for the viewer what so ever.
Buffet agrees with Joe. He said so in this very interview. Buffet is an unabashed capitalist. I agree with joe on most economic topics. However, his delivery sucks and he lacks knowledge on accounting and value investing. Becky has a basic knowledge of both, just enough to keep up with Buffet and is well advanced compared to the average viewer.
After enduring an almost painful discussion of basketball, Mr. Buffett brilliantly explains: how deferred tax liabilities arise, such as through fixed asset depreciation rate differences, and how the new tax rates benefit Berkshire shareholders; how accounting for investment gains and losses through the income statement in future will cloud the operating results of insurance and other companies that hold a large investment portfolio; how there are three categories of where to put your money - equities, bonds, cash; how a shareholder can create a dividend by selling a small portion of shares and stay invested without affecting the tax of the remaining shareholders; how buying back shares at 120% of book value is good for continuing shareholders; how a margin of safety is built into even that decision; and how a principled wealthy person can hold true to his job as chairman of a company and true to his competent understanding of the role government plays in civil society.
We got a poser in the middle trying hard. WTF is up with that? Can't we get serious anymore? We have epidemic grown men who act like teenagers in this era. This is why I hate turning on these type of channels.
Such is the permanent adolescence spawned by today’s vaunted “progress.” Pitiful. Just pitiful.
Joe is sooo annoying . He ruins the interview
Joe Kernen is very ill-informed, rude and a waste of time to listen to. When he tries to draw an ultimatum for Mr. Buffett at 7:35 about "writing a check to the government", he doesn't even mention the fact that Mr. Buffett has pledged to gradually give away 99% of his wealth to philanthropic foundations. I find Joe Kernen's banter to be useless and quite annoying.
Whenever Joe starts talking, Mr. Buffett is polite, but his face says "Oh God, what's this buffoon going to say to me now."

Joe Kernan was really very annoying. He asked Warren Buffett questions but didn't allow him to finish his answers and also kept on interrupting him. CNBC should replace him.

Joe Kernen is just horrible.Hes been mailing it in for years now..He used to really do some decent work and ask the right questions and looked prepared.Such a shame that he has the greatest investor of all-time right there and waste everyone's time with silly nonsense.Mr Buffett is still right on top of his game as yesterdays numbers indicate.

I wouldn’t mind Joe talking to Warren in such an offensive way if he was the one donating 80 billion dollars out of his personal wealth to make this world a better place, but fortunately only Warren Buffett can do it.
Warren sets the standard for company chairman communications. Can you name a single other company so open? I can't.

The Becky and Warren discussion are great. However, the questions/comments by Joe could have been better edited to lesser(read zero) time . Ms Quick is very well researched.
The only thing that this Joe guy is good for is teaching the kids what a blowhard is, and why no-one should act this way in any professional situation.

Am I the only one that gets kind of annoyed when the talking heads on CNBC start talking sports instead of markets? I get that they have a lot of time to fill, but come on - you're not espn. I will be listening on my drive to work and these goofs are talking about football or basketball for a whole segment before cutting to commercial. I also understand that lots of public companies advertise around sports, but that's not what they talk about

Warren is definitely in favor of lower corporate ax rates. It allows his companies to profit more and retain those earnings. Charlie Munger is much more candid on the subject.

Is Berkshire Hathaway better than a good vanguard index fund?
Yes
By far
S&P 500 ETF is running circles around Berkshire over a 5 to 10 year chart so its no competiton really. I like Berkshire cause they are safe but wouldnt bet against Vanguard.
Yeah but once both Buffett and Munger die (which will be within the next 10 years for sure), Berkshire will struggle.
Even with Ajit and Greg at the healm, they don't have the advice of Buffett.

I’m so happy the rest of the internet finds Joe as much of a blowhard as I’ve always found him to be during these interviews. It’s jarring to go from the pleasant professionalism and chemistry of Warren and Becky to this guy. CNBC needs to sit him down and tell him to dial it wayyy back or leave him out of these
