Pak still occupies poin 5353 kargil hill a very strategic point that overlooks national highway, Leh and srinagar. Pak fortified the bunkers there andade multiple links and connections through gilgit blatistan and chinese side hence pak can strategically do anything from there indian forces tried hard to retake it but failed 1965 was a stalemate however pak did pretty well and 71, was a civil war woth no shared land border or sea connection unwinnable for any power. Pak hasn't really been defeated its pretty strong

India's capturing Siachin was not a good step, nor would its capturing by Pak b a good step. The glacier should have been left alone. Musharaf's Kargil misadventure was a fiasco executed by a ruthless cowboy general without thinking of consequences. Kargil should not have happened after nuke tests.
In the 1999 Kargil war/conflict, Nawaz Sharif said that if India crossed the LOC they will use nukes. And first nuke was to be dropped on the national capital. In response some loudmouth at that time said that if Pakistan used nukes against India then whole of Pakistan will e wiped out of the map.
In response Pakistan developed more nukes and is estimated to have about 160-170 nukes today against India's 155-165 nukes.
India has a bigger size...pak is smaller...that is why pak developed more nukes to counter it...
