  • In this video I use a JVC Everio Camcorder to try to see if I can create a UA-cam video. This was one of my very first cameras I used almost a decade ago and pick it up again to see how it handles.

    JVC is an overlooked brand when it comes to consumer camcorders. Even though new JVC camcorders are still available, reviews are hard to find on UA-cam or anywhere else.

      Back in the day everyone was using them tho.back in the mid 90s when my friends and I were getting our drivers licenses.we went to the pawn shop and got the mini vhs kind.i filmed endless hours of skateboarding and just hanging out the window driving around the city.i miss those days.

    the best part of some JVC everio camcorders are able to record full length video of your entire HDD storage size. 30gb record up to 37hrs on vga mode which my 2 x JVC does that.

    My partner and I are going to record a short teaser of a podcast that happens on the street. We decided to use this camera because the aesthetics it captures helps the narrative discourse we want. That and because we are from the mid 80's. Nice video :)

    I have a similar camera in storage that I bought back in 2010ish because it was on sale. Mine was a little different, but I'm thinking about pulling it out for dashcam type footage. It was only about $100 back in the day when I bought it. I'd love to get some good use out of it still.

    I have a similar one from JVC as well its the gz-mg150. with a 30 gig hard drive and a sd slot in there. It's still usable I find. SO long as you use the same resolution across camera. I'm using OPen shot with as my video editor at home as an example. Along with a gneric 1080p webcam on my thinkcenter desktop. I know like what you have mentioned that our cell phones today can record in 1080P even dashcams as well too.
    You just have to be inventive going across when making content that it should be set for a beginner or hobbyist to keep it at 720. Mine came with a standard battery with it which last however long it was until I upgraded to the 4 hour battery for it for those longer going outside shots,. Its fun to use something like that gets your Mojo going to think outside of the box of todays 4-8K cameras or 1080P camera high resolutions. Nothing wrong and I agree with you.

    I think my parents had some jvc (?) Camcorder with this flipping screen in like 2010-2013. This camera actually shoots 16:9 (but it saves movies squished, so you have to stretch it to get full potential)

    That camcorder records in 16:9, in fact your footage shows distorted. You would have to find the "interpret footage as 16:9" as it can be done in Premiere Pro.

    I have a canon one like that to me it does amazing videos. I use mine a lot. And it still gets comments when I use. People ask what camera is that ? Does it take a sd card ? And then they see what I filmed and they are stunned. Mine does not get small like that. It renders into 16.9 or smaller or bigger. I think mine might be newer than yours.

    Hello, can you show how to stream using this cam. Ive been trying ways to do so, but my pc cant detect the cam. It can only detect the files. I even used the pixela and play memories something app. btw nice vid. The cam still has nice quality and i think betetr than the webcams in store

    • @childrenofprimus
      @childrenofprimus Рік тому +2

      I came here just as a random Google search as I have a similar model Everio. I too re-purposed my old cam instead of buying a new one to do Live Streams, and it works perfectly on our channel. I might talk about one day. If your camera has the mini HMDI port on the side as mine does, you just need two things;
      1. A cable that is mini HMDI male to regular HDMI male ($5-$10 or a bit more depending on length needed)
      2. A Video Capture Cards, HDMI to USB 2.0 (between $20-$30)
      Once you have those items, the connection would be Camera -> mini-HDMI to Regular HDM -> Capture Card -> Computer. The PC will detect the Capture Card and automatically install the drivers for it.
      Both items you can get from a computer store or online. If you go to a computer store, take the camera with you just in case, and tell the sales person what you would like to do. Come back and mention if your progress.

      @childrenofprimus Рік тому

      @@Crystalaux You're Welcome and perfect. You're closer to making it work. Also, between the JVC and a webcam, the JVC's quality is a lot better, and does a better job handling any personal movements, whereas a webcam may stall for a second.
