Dude I thought it was gunna make things easier nope, not at all I tried syncing all my c drive and it almost deleted everything, then deleted everything from my main d drive, fuck one drive
All of my shit gets saved there by default it fucking pisses me off
Can't even get mail on outlook cuz my one drive is full tf. Give at least 15 gigs like gdrive.
OneDrive might be the thing that pushes me to pick up a mac or linux. It's absolutely disgusting that I moved very single file out of one drive, deleted one drive, and it still removed every local file.

Thank you so much for this! I tried to do this in a way that I thought made sense, but my Recycle Bin wound up with over 6,000 files in it (the ones I had wanted to remove only from my OneDrive). I managed to restore everything, and it is now available on my OneDrive and This PC, but they are also still in my Recycle Bin and I'm not 100% certain as to why. Your video has been invaluable to me, so again, thank you!
i did the same but i emptied the recycle bin and the files i wanted are still on my pc
How do you stop onedrive from "seeing" the copied file and just syncing it back up to the cloud again ?
use C:\users\username\Documents to copy your files to, that folder is never synced by Onedrive. by default Onedrive syncs the 'quick' Documents which was a poor example in the video.
Im pretty sure you just go to your onedrive in file explorer and select the icon in the top right-hand corner -> press the gear in that panel -> and then click "manage backup" and deselect everything it helps

Does it not just make you have a duplicate of everything on you copy everything on OneDrive to another place?
I did not need to place the file in my PC as it was already there. One drive synched and removed that one file. Does anyone have a solution? (Except I deleted all my OneDrive files and then all my PC files were removed. I had a back up but need to stop this whole thing. I do not need OneDrive.)

i deleted lots of things one drive has reached capacity. delete it from one drive then deletes all original files. wtf!! they can eff off user friendly my ass

This took forever, onedrive automatically synced my quick access files and it's not inuitive at all on how to delete them from the one drive without deleting them locally

It is not. I just lost all my files including photos. One drive deletes the file that is saved under C:\users\username\Documents
