Thanks! Finally got this malware removed. Shame I did it too late, onedrive wiped every atom from my hard drive of 4+ years of work. RIP my college work lol. Finally it is gone!

@@mikejones-vd3fg im on windows 11 and I was able to remove it. I guess if you really want it gone, backup/save everything you have and factory reset your pc. It should appear for Uninstall then.
This app is so annoying! Every time I try to save a file, the numbers come out as 1J^2J^3J^, etc.

Thank you. Simple and clear. This thing has made the simplest activity - receiving emails - a nightmare! I just found out essentially nothing on my PC is actually "on my computer", but instead on the OneDrive. I've been fighting for an hour trying to get the files off but even when I tell it not to back up my desktop, it would do so immediately upon dropping a file there and then I could not delete it out of the OneDrive because it would then be deleted from the computer! What an absolutely malicious and toxic backup program.

Bro idk why or how but it installed everything from my documents fder into OneDrive and it said some like 4000 files were moved or deleted

I don't have apps and features in the settings/apps list.what should i check under in that case??
I use to uninstall it from control panel but have some junks in c/user/admin/one drive/ some ass files

Is there any way to delete my files from the cloud that went there because I didn't know OneDrive was sending them there? I have some very sensitive files that I need to get down.
MS makes this as difficult as possible. I do not have an "Apps and Settings" menu item but "Installed Apps" instead. There is a search window inside that allows me to follow the rest of your steps. I assume we have different versions of Win11.
HELP!! When I deleted the files in my onedrive folder I lost every file on my pc. I signed in to onedrive and put back all that was there but the current ones were not there.

Hey so I deleted OneDrive from file explorer and it deleted almost everything on my PC. All my pictures, and my games. Before I did, I unlinked OneDrive from my PC, but it still deleted everything. Is there any way I can get the files back?
Very good, except the step where you clicked on search apps, in my computer, it is installed apps on the very top. Then you just select from the menu or on the very top, you can type in the keyword. Thank you.
Uninstalled OneDrive and even the logo vanished but after an auto Windows update after a period of time, the OneDrive logo reappeared on my 'Account' window in 'Settings.' How? Why? And how do I remove it? I don't even have OneDrive showing as an app or program on my comp'. Thanks in advance!!!🙏

It does not work properly. I can unstall onedrive from settings-apps option. But, it remain in user account (C-drive-windows containing drive) and working and synchronise the data. I can not do any things: no unstall, no delete, nothing can do from that.
This is correct, OneDrive is a virus that will slow your computer down and drive you crazy. Have you found a solution?
Great video - I got rid of the app.... I have an excel document open (that was saved to OndDrive) - I'm trying to do a "save as" and put it on my folder on my desktop, and it still is defaulting to OneDrive (even the the Onedrive icon in the task bar is now gone) - do I need to re-start my computer to clear this? I don't want to lose this file - thanks.
I had the same problem. You can change the default save location in the excel options. I think it's only for local saving though. So you'll probably have to manually Ctrl - S every time. I'm still working on resolving my own Onedrive catastrophe lol.

The name has been changed from "OneDrive" to "Microsoft OneDrive" in the settings, so make sure you search the word "one" when looking to uninstall it.

I got 500gb only and suddenly I saw myself with very limited free disk then I found out that about this abuse of MS putting one drive by default on windows 11. I hate windows but I need to use because some specify software but I hate how intrusive microsoft is.

These instructions will delete one drive but be aware. after you uninstall it, all your files will be gone.

one drive is not installed on my computer, like the worst virus from hell it refuses to show up when I search for it like you showed. It is not in the task bar either. Yet somehow EVERYTHING on my computer is saved in the OneDrive folder, including the whole desktop folder. NOW MY SHITTY UNWANTED ONEDRIVE IS SO FUCKING FULL I CAN'T EVEN REVIEVE EMAILS! IM GOING TO COMMIT SEPPUKU!!!
THIS DOESN'T WORK NOW. RIGHT CLICK ON MUSIC ON YOUR DESKTOP AFTER UNINSTALL AND GO TO PROPERTIES. LOOK AT WHERE THE FILE IS LOCATED. IT'S GOES TO ONE DRIVE AND THERE'S NO WAY OF CHANGING IT. I HAVE SPENT HOURS TRYING. M.S. IS BLACKMAILING YOU TO BUY MORE SPACE.

I wonder how many people this will drive to iOS / Linux. Windows has been a confusing mess for years but has never hijacked my stuff and held it for ransom before.

I literally think OneDrive is malware. I couldn’t open a single file in file explorer and when stuff did load it took 5 minutes just to open a folder. Every file thumbnail was the default image too. Deleted OneDrive and it was completely fixed running at normal speed 💀
