I cannot understand how can they have a program like this that simply uploads files from your machine without permission.. from install of windows 10 ..it is forced on you...and to remove it is so complicated... should have been illegal!

@@Jeff99 What part don't you understand?? OneDrive parasites itself onto all your business and/or personal folders and files and pictures and anything else they can leech onto, - - and has more control over them then you do.
@@thomasroberts1427 I never installed OneDrive when I installed Office666. And after I cancelled my subscription to Office360 MS wiped out everything related to it. I use iDrive for backup. And iCloud.

Wow! Wow! Wow! This has made it so easy for me Brian. I was seriously struggling with onedrive with two users which I need to create my husband's website. Onedrive blocked all our photos, website training videos... everything. It has been a nightmare and so is Windows so called support system for getting rid of onedrive. You made it easy even though I had already made the mistake of just uninstalling the program and then having to reinstall it so I could use your method to uninstall it and all it traces. So very greatful for help from downunder.
Thanks Brian I had forgotten all about the Revo Uninstaller as I used to use it back in the days of Windows 7 quite a lot and I found it great to get rid of those AV softwares that were so hard to eradicate. Just out of interest did you uninstall One Drive for any specific purpose or just for demonstration of the Revo?? Plus you did mention in the last video I think it was you are starting a second channel will anyone be able to access it or just members of your group?? I am waiting for the video on setting up Linux distro on a USB stick as it has my curiosity stirred up😉
Tip:
Don't press the "Select All" option in the scanned files and folders. Since it may delete some files regarding other windows apps. Would recommend to select them one by one or just the main branch which it will select all other files associated to "the mentioned app"!

Thanks for this video, I tested out the free one and it worked OK on Win10 64, so I bought the commercial version and fully "de-crapped" the entire installation. A reasonable investment as the cost was low and the extended version did a lot more.

Great video! That is especially a good guide for those who are running Sysprep with copy profile as well since by default Sysprep does not fully remove all one drive traces.

So I uninstalled OneDrive but there are leftover folders like the SetUp.exe in WinSxS & SysWOW64, can I remove this or do I just have to leave it there?
This pissed me off so bad. I just uninstalled it from the menu thinking oh, that's fine, I'm glad they give me an easy way to uninstall it :D Only to find it was still there and I had to click off it every time I tried to save a file, including today where I accidentally saved something to it and had to manually go in and delete it. I don't want my files anywhere near any sort of 'shared space' thank you very much, especially with how much more prevalent shit like AI data scraping is becoming.
All you got to do is uninstall onedrive on Control Panel, where you uninstall programs, then after that, everything will go back to normal as icons being able to shown, no lag, Very Perfect!
The uninstall from control panel leaves many traces, the revo uninstall works but it isnt perfect.
Make sure you backup the files you want to keep. Uninstalling one drive may delete your existing files associated with onedrive

Question: New laptop and I used This in Windows 11 to remove One Drive.... But I'm still seeing all the One Drive file extensions when I look at file paths in Explorer. Will Revo see this and correct it after One Drive has at least partially been uninstalled?

Windows Explorer will/should have a Onedrive folder so you can just copy from there to Dropbox. I did the opposite at one point before deciding not to continue with Onedrive.

This video shows an advanced option that the free version is not showing for me. I already did the Microsoft OneDrive "Control panel>Programs>Uninstall a program". Upon opening this app, I have a OneDrive option but not a Microsoft OneDrive option so tried uninstalling just the OneDrive and advanced option never appeared. Then scan was followed by a popup said all "remnants" are gone BUT I do have a User>Name>OneDrive>Desktop directory. So confusing.
What happens to all files moved to cloud and changed directory paths?
I have a question. Why dont you suggest installing drivers through ccleaner etcetera? What harm can it have on your PC? Because I personally use Ccleaner to update drivers.
Not a good idea to update drivers very often, except maybe for the video card. Newer isn't always better. "Harm" - worst case scenario you crash your OS.

I used Revo as suggested because I was unable to get Dropbox to backup the desktop and it said can’t back up to both at the same time. I checked my PC for Onedrive remnants but didn’t find anything. I get the same error message from Dropbox. Any suggestions? Is it an issue with registry keys left behind that has a file association. Cheers for the great video Brian
Maybe try to reinstall Dropbox again and then try to remove it using revo uninstaller
Why did you choose the "Portable" version of Revo?
After fresh 10 install ,will remove all oem programs and registries?
A good point here, is to do a system restore point before making those changes
This method is not complete, so it seems. I did use Revo portable and it reported that everything was uninstalled. Although it did not find Onedrive in the Applications Tab to begin with. Only in Uninstaller tab. Then all steps about finding remaining registry keys were performed. After rebooting OneDrive disappeared from the windows menu and explorer. BUT, it remains in the MS Office "open file" dialogue - in Word, Access etc...

I was recovering massive amount of files from an incapacitated drive and couldn't figure why our internet was so sluggish and "OneDrive is running out of space, please upgrade for more" window kept popping out and then it hit me, all those gigs of files were being synced to the effing OneDrive cloud!! 🤬
I knew just deleting the program wasn't going to be that easy, I'm very glad I found your video and the Revo Uninstaller, made it much easier!

I followed your instructions, "windows apps" in revo does not show onedrive but it is in "uninstaller" part. Next when saving a word document onedrive still appears, revo does not remove all traces maybe there is some regedits to remove. Im using office 2016 less problems. My office 2019 seemed to insist saving to onedrive even though i removed it. the 30% off code is a good deal thanks! The solution was this: Open Word > File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Privacy Options > Uncheck Let Office connect to online services from Microsoft to provide functionality that is relevant
Great video, thanks! I downloaded the freeware exact like you showed. But to my bummer One drive never showed up in either place. I've been pulling my hair out trying to get one drive GONE from my pc a while now. Drop Box also. But most of all one drive. It has major messed me up. Had to reinstall Windows 10 on my pc a while back because of Microsoft would not let me in on a forgotten keyword. Which is BOGUS too. So after I installed 10 this crap showed up. It was working great with my old pic system on my pc. Then was all destroyed by this JUNK. I need to free up memory.....and this CRAP is taking it OVER. So....anyway....how do I do this when it would not show up in Freeware. Thanks.
If there's anyone wondering of the validity of the windows key site, I can confidently attest to the fact that it's 100 percent legit. I've so far purchased a windows 10 pro and 11 pro. There was a slight delay for the key to take effect. Mine worked on the 2nd or 3rd time inputting it, but that's my personal usage case, may not b that way for everyone. Sorry didn't mean to shill for them, but just spreading the word on it for anyone that may be on the fence like I was
Does it matter if I do this before or after the Microsoft account is converted to the to local account? Will all files still be in file explorer? As I understand it I will still need to go to the onedrive on cloud and delete any files too and hopefully that cloud drive completely. Please correct me if I am not on the right track. Thank you!!!

I use the free full version of Revo free version. I don't mind having it installed on my PC as I use it a lot. It's the best app to remove unwanted software, but beyond that, I use it daily as the Junk files remover is excellent for keeping things tidy and efficient .
Dose this delete gpu drivers like DDU
The installer version 7/7/2022 I downloaded has the "Trapmine" virus. Also, their Privacy Policy says they collect personal data. A lot! And Win 10 can't uninstall Revo Uninstaller. It just hangs.
I used Reno Uninstall to get rid of OneDrive and, by magic, restore the Windows 10 shell like (I followed a video).
Thank god, it's a fresh air! Since I moved my file outside OneDrive folders before, my files are intact!

This is great, and I'll use it on Edge as well, but it only addresses half the problem. Microsoft has already without permission stolen ("backed up") all my data. It does that automatically. The other half of the problem is to delete it from their cloud without them taking revenge by deleting it from all my devices.

Your documents and pictures folders, the path still has Onedrive in, and you cannot Move the folders or change the parth after you've uninstalled Onedrive.
Followed your instructions to the letter. No OneDrive ... perfect! Until, that is, my computer updated. Now OneDrive is back ... everywhere. I've got to go through the whole palaver again. In summary, there ain't no "easy way" to remove OneDrive.

Revo Uninstaller as of September 2023 still does not get rid of all remnants of OneDrive. Even when doing the deep scan and removal of all footprints the OneDrive folder is still left behind. Not your fault, but something to be aware of.
What about XBOX? Can I delete that also?
its not that easy, I uninstalled from settings apps section and ascertained that onedrive doesn't exist in the apps section and not existing under control panel, programs, I also used revouninstaller and ascertain that one drive doesn't exist there but the shortcut of onedrive still exist in the start menu and all the installation files of onedrive still exist under USER\user\local\microsoft\onedrive\19.033.0218.0011\ and all those files are never removed.

Great way to get rid of stubborn software. I've been using it for ages. It's great if you want to try software then get rid of it if you don't like it.

I followed the instructions but when I do a search for "OneDrive" I STILL SEE A FOLDER FOR IT! ugh, this program is tenacious! I will say that the second part, going to Windows Apps and uninstalling there....OneDrive didn't show up for me there! Maybe I need to unhide it or something?? I don't know, but could use some further instructions if possible!

Easy - Use revo, there you've got a "search" field, left corner, up.
Just type "Edge", will be found, after that do the same as you did with the onedrive.
There is a debloat command which allows you to remove onedrive
If you're an NVDA user and you want to use Revo, forget about it. Haven't tested it with JAWS yet, though.

Guys, need update on this. desktop, documents is inside c:\users\xxxx\onedrive\ , even if onedrive is removed the normal location of desktop, documents, etc will not change
So I downloaded that uninstaller took a look on the virus total and first result was a Trojan so thanks good thing I deleted that and didn't open it

just deleted all my files trying to remove all the onedrive junk. too late for me. I thought it was strange that it was 100's of GB, but after all it had been backing up and uploading my files to the internet without my knowledge or permission. Everybody should know: YOUR ENTIRE USER FOLDER IS A ONEDRIVE FOLDER. IT WILL ALL BE UPLOADED WHETHER YOU COMPLY OR NOT. IT CANNOT BE DISABLED
