The thing with Michael is that he must have a crazy blood clotting factor such that he never bleeds out. He doesn't have a wolverine healing factor like Thorn Michael does. But he never seems to leave a constant blood trail after being wounded. So he's not constantly losing blood which is why most people die rather than the tissue damage itself. Laurie had to make sure to slice open three major blood vessels; the carotid (throat), radial (wrist), and subclavian (armpit) arteries so he bled out quickly.
I think the mask made it easier for him to kill, but it didn't give him super strength. The simple truth is, DGG. most probably along with JLC's input, made the personal decision to end him and make Laurie victorious. He thought by making Michael Myers take a backseat, presenting him as weak, and putting the emphasis on the Corey story, viewers will lose their fascination with the character and easily let him go in the end. It was a total letdown for longtime devoted fans.
I would've been fine with the ending we got in 2018. I was disappointed last year and even more so this year. Hell if they'd just leave us with the ending we got last year without the part where he gets to and slaughters the angry mob I'd be fine with that too.
Mike Myers originally was supernatural, You don't have your head chopped off you don't have your body electrocuted, you don't get set on fire, short numerous, numerous stab wounds , falling down a mineshaft, Then you say that's just a normal person, If that's normal person the army would love to sign people like that

It's Sad that JC didn't put his heart into it after the success of the first. He really had something special , but just wanted to be done with it .

I don’t think him not killing is what made him so weak enough to get killed, because you remember when the bum told Corey people always go in the sewer and never come back out implying that Michael has killed some people within the 4 years. He spent 40 years in Smithgrove without slaughtering anyone and still came out on a rampage so I don’t think that’s a reason. There is no way in hell Laurie could’ve beat him realistically. DGG had no idea what do with this final movie so he gave us all these stupid plot distractions to keep the focus off Michael and made him purposely weak when we did see him so it would be easier and more understandable to accept him dying. My theory: The reason that Michael Myers, AKA: The Shape is extremely weak in Halloween Ends, it was because from all of the injuries and damage he sustained in the last two movies, (Halloween 2028 & Halloween Kills) and also later on the town of Haddonfield began to lose fear of him from his legend as the boogeyman.

People are looking at the "The more he kills, the more he transcends" quote too literal. The full quote is "The more he kills, the more he transcends into something impossible to defeat. Fear. The people are afraid. That is the curse of Michael." It's not meant that he literally gets power. It's the fact that he scares people makes him feel powerful. The less people are scared, the more useless he feels and therefore goes dormant and such in this film.
See here's the thing, if the movie wasn't marketed as a MICHAEL MYERS film no one would bat an eye at what happened or how it turned out. I was born in 95 and every single Halloween movie has been marketed as Michael Myers movies. Season of the Witch has been irrelevant since it came out and no one brings it up except for reviewers or cult fans. The main problem with the current trilogy is retconning details people have literally GROWN with. Like Michael suddenly not caring about Laurie, Michael suddenly being human, Michael suddenly being killable, Michael suddenly not being related to Laurie. What attracted me to Michael's story when I was a kid was him being unkillable and mysterious. Making him a regular guy who gets affected by age, disease, wounds, regular people problems and the like drains everything intimidating about him. Michael was clearly supernatural in Halloween Kills. 100% and in Ends we see him rejuvenate when he kills someone. With all those details he shouldn't be easy to kill. It was just done to be done in my opinion. It wasn't story driven it was glory driven.
He wasn't dead, he went dormant like he does after being seriously wounded. It was in that dormant state that Laurie dumped him into the metal muncher, that's what killed him.
Also there’s evidence to support this. In 78 he freaks out when the mask is removed. In 2018 he’s reignited when put in close proximity to it and kills to get to it. In Kills he freaks out and stops attacking Lindsey when it’s almost removed and he also chases after Karen for taking it. Also the original ending somewhat goes with it too in that Michael dies and because Laurie keeps the mask around, she gains a darkness and in the original ending they cut around her home like in 78’s ending while she breathes. The power is def the mask. I really think a sequel to the trilogy should happen with incorporating Halloween 3 in a reboot way. Would be so fascinating and a great way to revitalise the essence of Michael while telling that H3 story.
I think he was weak from the street fight and being stabbed in the back by Karen. His childhood home was demolished and he was homeless with no nourishment plus he is old.
He also was without his mask for 40 years, yet the night he got it back he was instantly superhuman. If bring away from it for a long time weakened him then hiw did he get that strong in one night with it back? And if it charged him in a night after being without it for 40 years, then sure being without it fr less than a ray didn't weaken him that much. Plus he had it on for most of the movie and could barely walk even before losing it
I believe a number of things contributed to his death. without the mask for too long and not enough kills to give him his strength. The both combined was the reason and the Evil within felt Michaels weekness and wanted to find a new host
Simply put, age can't lie, no matter how much effort you put into it, it's still different from when you were young, Mychael is also a human, there must be a time when you die, unlike Jason, who is immortal.
@joextreme I do know that Jason became a Supernatural Entity in Friday the 13th Part 6, when he was Resurrected by lightning. Immortal means that one can live Forever. Never dying or decaying. Jason was a Decaying Corpses, who got killed in every movie from Part 6, until someone or something brung him back to life. Immortal Beings can still be killed. For Example, I would say that a onscreen character like Superman is Immortal. Because No Conventional weapons on earth can kill Superman. However Superman can still be killed by Extraordinary Means. Jason is Unkillable for the most part, but Jason isn't Immortal because Jason can still get killed with Regular Weapons. Jason is still Earthbound. I hope that's explains, what Immortal means.

Well Michael also didn’t have the mask when he was incarcerated for almost 40 years too. So how was he still powerful when he got hurt by the journalists and still killed them in Halloween 2018?
Michael was clearly growing stronger throughout the movie. I think he used whatever power he built up to survive and recover as much as possible from that biblical ass beating he took in Kills. If he had carried out more “training wheels” kills with Corey he would have regained his strength fully. However because he sort of steeped Corey in some of his power (Corey also clearly growing stronger and more evil through the movie) had less to build on. Then his external battery Corey dies what you wind up with is Michael at 30% tops. Not to mention whatever fear he conjures as the “boogeyman” being lessened by the lack of awareness of the new killing spree and anyone who knew about it not fearing Michael anymore would dampen that effect. Of course this all assumes some supernatural stuff but it makes sense on screen that way.
Agreed, it wasn't anything to do with the story, it was Jamie Lee Curtis wanting this lackluster ending so as to send off her character with the ultimate win against the male antagonist and live happily ever after. I believe Curtis had more creative control than she will admit to and in my opinion she and David Gordon Green ruined this franchise for the fans. Really disappointing.

That's why I wasn't really upset about the showdown not being the main plot of the film, Michael doesn't care at all about Laurie. He only tried to kill her because she was there when he retrieved his mask. She was just there. He, doesn't, care, about her.
I read a quote from DGG and he says his Michael Myers is just human and him being more than a man is just a theory of Laurie's which blows my mind. So apparently Myers has no powers in this timeline I wish I can show you the quote cause it contradicts everything especially what Dr. Loomis says about Michael in the original. I don't think Green or Jamie had any idea what they were doing and that's why Myers died so easily. The mask was just a mask taken from a hardware store
The whole reason why he was so weak was bc of all his injuries he had taken with no medical attention. He got beat down by a mob & stabbed with a Pitchfork his fingers were blown off so that basically told us that he's not supernatural. Think about it he's not showering & cleaning his wounds putting Neosporin on & changing his bandages.
Pretty sure Micheal had a multitude of injuries that haven't healed and he was aging. If injuries aren't treated properly they can affect the person's capabilities as they age.
His body was also riddled with infections and illness from past injuries, being in his 60s and living rough for four years. The vessel of the Evil is essentially decaying.
He also hasn't had the mask for 40 years and yet he was fine in Halloween 2018. Your theory doesn't make any more sence than the one about him not having killend anyone within the 4 years between halloween kills and halloween ends. Also he had the mask for this 4 year period between kills and ends and yet Corey youst took the mask from him. By the way, it is implied that micheal did kill people between kills and ends. That homeless dude that draged corey to be killed by michael said: "why did he let you live? You're gonna get me that mask" That implies, that he had done that before and michael had both his mask and a couple of kills between between kills and ends

I mean I'm conflicted about Michael's end. One one hand, the fight is great between him and Laurie and I love how the town came together in the end to dispose of Michael's body. But just having his neck and wrist slit? That's the blow that finally does Michael in? I mean I'm glad it was Laurie who ended it. Just thought that maybe she'd stab him in the head at least or something abit more fitting. Just him getting pinned and cut like that just doesn't feel satisfying.
I kinda felt like Lourie moving on with her life and stop being afraid of Michael stopped feeding him his supernatural energy. Like they are connected some how. He was way weaker in Ends then he was in Kills and he still had the mask. They keep calling him the Boogy Man. While she was killing him, she proclaimed she even tried to forgive him. Just whats been going through my head. Also the house he grew up in was demolished so there might be something there too like him standing at the window recharged him somehow. Who knows. I think alot was left for us to speculate.
I think Michael was weaker because his house was ripped down. You think about it he killed his sister inside the house. He always hid inside his house at the end of every movie. So logic would suggest that without the Myers house Michaels power is being drained and he becomes weaker.
The filmmakers state multiple times that he's just a human in this trilogy. He's not supernatural. He was probably weak because he's old and lived in the sewer where he didn't receive care like he did when he was locked up. They say the pandemic was supposed to play a role so it's likely he was meant to have caught COVID leaving him weaker.

In my opinion, I think Myers was so weak because he never took so much damage like in the ending of Halloween Kills ( in this timeline). If they were still going with that " he is human but with a supernatural edge " it explains why he survived so much scars, but the beatdown probably let him weak after the rampage. He may slaughtered all those people at the end as an instant reaction, because of the supernatural possibility, but after that, he was so wounded that he felt he needed to recover, hidden from everyone.

No theory makes sense. The "not enough kills" doesn't make sense for reasons you explained(going 40 years without killing and still being powerful). The mask doesn't make sense because he had the mask for all 4 years he was inactive and yet Allyson's ex-boyfriend/the cop and Corey were both capable of overpowering him. Michael needed Corey's help to take down the cop and Corey overpowered him and took the mask from him. It's just all around terrible writing that makes no sense. Not even "the inuries he suffered in Kills is why he's so weak" makes sense, seeing as right after suffering all those wounds and injuries he gets up and kills the entire mob, then sneaks back in to the house and kills Karen. David Gordon Green should be ashamed of himself for the trash he's produced for us with this trilogy(2018 was ok, but the overwhelming stench of Kills and Ends eliminates any good will he created with that), and John Carpenter and Jamie Lee Curtis should be ashamed of themselves for signing off on it.

The 4 years between Kills and Ends he's damn near 70 years old and has been living with open wounds in a Sewer for 4 years after his house got destroyed. He was weak without killing in ends because if he goes a while without killing his strength returns too a base level which is still strong but because he’s gone through so much damage that base level reduced significantly so in 2018 he was at say 50% at the start with no kills then in kills after killing he’s at 100% but after not killing he would be at 50% again but due to being injured and not killing he was reduced too 10%

I think his Ending has Alot to do with John Carpenter!! Because He created The Shape, then sold the proprietary rights to Halloween and Michael Myers became an ICON while Halloween III did Ok but was more like a James Bond type movie than a Horror movie. Now Carpenter Originally wanted to do 3 movies, 1 involving Obviously Michael Myers or The Shape, 1 as a Ghost story and 1 a Witch Which was Halloween 3. He sold the rights to Moustapha or whatever his name was for Halloween II and was around during the filming of Halloween II but only as a consultant type position. Because these New movies don't follow the Brother/Sister storyline which I actually thought was better than this iteration! Because seriously in the first movie did he only stalk Laurie because she went up to the front door of the old Myers house or did he feel a Connection to her and That's why he went after her. I think Carpenter dropped the ball and decided to put an End to Michael Myers because of own Short Sightedness on how Popular this Movie ICON could be!!

The mask is his identity. I totally agree with your theory. The longer he wears it the more he solidifies his place in the world. You can see this in the first scene of 2018 when that podcaster holds the mask up to him.

My personal theory is similar to this, but I believe age is a factor as well. It's like multiplication. Let's say when Michael myers was in his 20s, he was a 4. Let's say the mask would multiply his power by 10. So obviously, his power would be 40. But as he aged, he turned into a 1, and therefore making his power 10. Hope this makes sense 😅
My personal opinion as to why Michael was so weak was because after 4 years of not killing the evil inside him started to fail him. Plus he took so much damage from previous movies so he’s body was not in good shape either so the combination of both things lead to his downfall
Just the same with Laurie anything anyone says about Michael should be taken with a grain of salt as he is an enigma. No one knows the facts of how he operates and the what evil force drives him. What we hear from characters are more or less clues of those things.
Here is a definitive answer to the whole Michael being locked away in Smithsgrove and still coming out powerful enough to do his job in a primal state is because even though 40 years has passed he still has that power retained from killing before smithsgrove even if it wasn’t an entire spree. He died because JLC wanted her moment. It makes no more sense for him die from his injuries in Ends than those received in Kills. They "jumped the shark" in Kills so to take him out like she did in Ends defies logic, but the actress and the directors/writers wanted it to be personal. An explosion, decapitation, crushing etc would have been more believable than him bleeding out. He had more holes than a tea bag at the end of Kills

I would say definitely not the mask as he was already becoming what he became without it starting at the age of six. The mask was just a convenient store Halloween mask that he stole from the local town store in Haddonfield. Laurie talks about Michael's transcendence from when he kills but the facts about how it works isn't told. How things played out in Kills most fans made the assumption that he was going to be like The Hulk and/or that the number of people he killed would sustain his strength. But again that was never said or confirmed. True in Halloween 2018 he was fine not having killed while having been locked up. But he was also away from his mask all that time too. And the key factor in that was that he had not been attacked and had excessive damage done to him. I believe that made all the difference as to why he was weak in Ends.
You make a good point on the mask thing. Yes Micheal was 6 when he committed his first murder and yes maybe the evil was inside of him for god knows how long. But what I’m more thinking, is that the power went from Micheal into the mask.

It’s still up for debate whether or not Michael knew who she was. He sure acted like he knew who she was. He went after her in a different way than he did. I think it was a copy cat mental patient that was killed at the end. A mental patient who escaped and copied Michael even to the extent of his fingers. Michael does not team up with other people nor leave people escape. I don’t think it was him in the movie
I agree it's more likely it's the mask than the kills but if you're going to use the excuse he hadn't killed in 40 years and was still very strong and wouldn't die so therefore it can't be he gets his strength from the kills, the same would be True for the Mask. He hadn't worn the mask in 40 years either, yet he was still strong that night. So by that logic you'd have to conclude it's not the mask either.

Your theory does not completely answer the question. Michael did not have the mask when he escaped the prison either yet he seemed very strong when he killed the podcasters in 2018
It shocks me how many people out there didn’t understand what Laurie said in Kills. It wasn’t meant to be taken literally. When Michael kills, he doesn’t actually “transcend” and become unkillable. Rather, the more he kills, the more fear spreads throughout the community, and the idea of Michael Myers/The Boogeyman/The Shape becomes more popular, which allows evil to continually spread (and never die). So, it’s not Michael that can never die, but rather the idea of the Boogeyman that gets stronger and can never die.
Just a theory I don’t think Micheal died I think it was Corey and here’s why I think this!!! When Corey was thrown off the bridge he needed glasses then when Micheal grabbed Corey Micheal saw the memories and let him go then after he didn’t need glasses ? His eyes were black ? Just like Michael’s ? I think Micheal is now in Corey’s body and corey died in Michael’s in the grinder and where did Corey go ??? They didn’t say anything about it ??? Just a theory
Ridiculous to say he died because he didn’t have the mask. He kills with and without the mask. If the power was in the mask how could he manage all the kills in 2018 before even getting to the journalists to retrieve his mask. Gordon green just humanised Michael and ends more showed that with his injuries. He was just a wreck from injury. If you watch ends closely, there’s so many sub plot stories that are never explained and don’t make sense. One off the top is Corey showing his hand wound to Michael or checking it after a kill like he was healing from killing. The other is why did they show Michael watching Laurie while Corey went upstairs with Alyson to have him do nothing else for the rest of the film except stand in a sewer. The scene Michael killed the cop to me looked like it invigorated him and gave him energy so why not go terrorise the town again or show us him stalking Laurie again like a call back to H1. In fact I’m sure there’s a scene in a trailer where Laurie says she keeps seeing Michael. So maybe it was used and they dropped it to steer it towards the new ending of Corey dying. I’d love to see the original scripts and endings before all the changes because as much as I like ends. It’s been massively sliced and diced like halloween 6. Taking different versions and editing them together. But do I believe the mask had power. No. I believe Michael possibly felt more powerful when he was wearing it due to the fear it gave people and also that sense of a comforter of being hidden.
Good video! but the theory is not a good one. The shape is pure evil and that gives him the strength to do the things he does and withstand damage like no one else. He is not Jason as we saw in Kills he stopped the bleeding on his hand so we know he cures his injuries just don't show that because that is part of the mystery. I agree with everyone that Laurie and the shape should have died together in a much longer fight scene than what we got. Hell, I would have had Hawkins in that final fight as well to try and redeem himself maybe saving Allyson from the shape, and then Laurie jumps in and blows the shape's arm off completely with a shotgun and we see the shape and Laurie both dying together would have been a much dramatic ending in my opinion.

I think it was that Micheal transfered some of his power to Cory and between that and Michael's advanced age and all the previous damage inflicted on him during the other films that the spirit possessing Michael was looking for another to possess and that person betraying Micheal so weakened Micheal it didn't give him the ability to recuperate from his injuries like usual and thus enough damage was done to keep him in the cycle of recuperation but he didn't make it before they dumped his body into the shredder
Let’s face it, they made so much money with the last trilogy, they’re going to bring him back. We all know there’s a clause in the contract that Michael can never be killed so theyll probably pull the “it was just some homeless psycho guy who found Michael’s mask and happen to come into Laurie’s house and attack her” or something. There were parts about Ends I hated and really liked, but it was far from an appropriate send off for the franchise. The whole ‘Laurie not really giving a f$&k about him anymore” was really dumb and introducing a new character in the last movie and making the entire movie about him when we haven’t invested in him was insane. I can’t stand Alyson as a character so I’m hoping she’s not involved in the next one. I enjoyed the 2018 and Halloween Kills )(except for the “Evil dies tonight shite, that was cringey as hell) but Ends was just horrible. As a stand alone movie, I could’ve liked it, but as a Halloween movie, especially the ending of it, it failed miserably.
Idk about the mask because in 2018 he had been locked up for 40 years and when he got out he brutaly killed 3 people before even putting the mask on so is it really the mask that does it or is it just him. 2018 and kills happen in the same night he murdered like 40 people 1 for every year he was locked up I just don't understand how 4 years later he's a weakling, also when Michael had just started killing again and him and Corey killed the Dr. And nurse you see Michael actually like speed walk at that nurse and hold her up by the throat before pinning her to the wall. So your telling me that he can do that but in the very next scene Corey can just go down to the sewers and beat Michael in a 1 vs 1 and take the one thing he cares about nah I just don't buy it, feels like they had an original plan and shit got messed up when the pandemic hit they just started pumping out random ideas thinking it would be great but in reality this movie isn't horrible but it's not good by any means

The thing with Michael is that he must have a crazy blood clotting factor such that he never bleeds out. He doesn't have a wolverine healing factor like Thorn Michael does. But he never seems to leave a constant blood trail after being wounded. So he's not constantly losing blood which is why most people die rather than the tissue damage itself. Laurie had to make sure to slice open three major blood vessels; the carotid (throat), radial (wrist), and subclavian (armpit) arteries so he bled out quickly.

I think the mask made it easier for him to kill, but it didn't give him super strength. The simple truth is, DGG. most probably along with JLC's input, made the personal decision to end him and make Laurie victorious. He thought by making Michael Myers take a backseat, presenting him as weak, and putting the emphasis on the Corey story, viewers will lose their fascination with the character and easily let him go in the end. It was a total letdown for longtime devoted fans.
I would've been fine with the ending we got in 2018. I was disappointed last year and even more so this year. Hell if they'd just leave us with the ending we got last year without the part where he gets to and slaughters the angry mob I'd be fine with that too.

My theory: The reason that Michael Myers, AKA: The Shape is extremely weak in Halloween Ends, it was because from all of the injuries and damage he sustained in the last two movies, (Halloween 2028 & Halloween Kills) and also later on the town of Haddonfield began to lose fear of him from his legend as the boogeyman.

People are looking at the "The more he kills, the more he transcends" quote too literal. The full quote is "The more he kills, the more he transcends into something impossible to defeat. Fear. The people are afraid. That is the curse of Michael." It's not meant that he literally gets power. It's the fact that he scares people makes him feel powerful. The less people are scared, the more useless he feels and therefore goes dormant and such in this film.
See here's the thing, if the movie wasn't marketed as a MICHAEL MYERS film no one would bat an eye at what happened or how it turned out.
I was born in 95 and every single Halloween movie has been marketed as Michael Myers movies. Season of the Witch has been irrelevant since it came out and no one brings it up except for reviewers or cult fans. The main problem with the current trilogy is retconning details people have literally GROWN with.
Like Michael suddenly not caring about Laurie, Michael suddenly being human, Michael suddenly being killable, Michael suddenly not being related to Laurie. What attracted me to Michael's story when I was a kid was him being unkillable and mysterious. Making him a regular guy who gets affected by age, disease, wounds, regular people problems and the like drains everything intimidating about him. Michael was clearly supernatural in Halloween Kills. 100% and in Ends we see him rejuvenate when he kills someone. With all those details he shouldn't be easy to kill.
It was just done to be done in my opinion. It wasn't story driven it was glory driven.
He wasn't dead, he went dormant like he does after being seriously wounded. It was in that dormant state that Laurie dumped him into the metal muncher, that's what killed him.
Also there’s evidence to support this. In 78 he freaks out when the mask is removed. In 2018 he’s reignited when put in close proximity to it and kills to get to it. In Kills he freaks out and stops attacking Lindsey when it’s almost removed and he also chases after Karen for taking it. Also the original ending somewhat goes with it too in that Michael dies and because Laurie keeps the mask around, she gains a darkness and in the original ending they cut around her home like in 78’s ending while she breathes. The power is def the mask. I really think a sequel to the trilogy should happen with incorporating Halloween 3 in a reboot way. Would be so fascinating and a great way to revitalise the essence of Michael while telling that H3 story.

Michael was clearly growing stronger throughout the movie. I think he used whatever power he built up to survive and recover as much as possible from that biblical ass beating he took in Kills. If he had carried out more “training wheels” kills with Corey he would have regained his strength fully. However because he sort of steeped Corey in some of his power (Corey also clearly growing stronger and more evil through the movie) had less to build on. Then his external battery Corey dies what you wind up with is Michael at 30% tops. Not to mention whatever fear he conjures as the “boogeyman” being lessened by the lack of awareness of the new killing spree and anyone who knew about it not fearing Michael anymore would dampen that effect. Of course this all assumes some supernatural stuff but it makes sense on screen that way.

Agreed, it wasn't anything to do with the story, it was Jamie Lee Curtis wanting this lackluster ending so as to send off her character with the ultimate win against the male antagonist and live happily ever after. I believe Curtis had more creative control than she will admit to and in my opinion she and David Gordon Green ruined this franchise for the fans. Really disappointing.

So apparently Myers has no powers in this timeline I wish I can show you the quote cause it contradicts everything especially what Dr. Loomis says about Michael in the original. I mean I'm conflicted about Michael's end. One one hand, the fight is great between him and Laurie and I love how the town came together in the end to dispose of Michael's body. But just having his neck and wrist slit? That's the blow that finally does Michael in? I mean I'm glad it was Laurie who ended it. Just thought that maybe she'd stab him in the head at least or something abit more fitting. Just him getting pinned and cut like that just doesn't feel satisfying.
I kinda felt like Lourie moving on with her life and stop being afraid of Michael stopped feeding him his supernatural energy. Like they are connected some how. He was way weaker in Ends then he was in Kills and he still had the mask. They keep calling him the Boogy Man. While she was killing him, she proclaimed she even tried to forgive him. Just whats been going through my head. Also the house he grew up in was demolished so there might be something there too like him standing at the window recharged him somehow. Who knows. He was probably weak because he's old and lived in the sewer where he didn't receive care like he did when he was locked up. In my opinion, I think Myers was so weak because he never took so much damage like in the ending of Halloween Kills ( in this timeline). If they were still going with that " he is human but with a supernatural edge " it explains why he survived so much scars, but the beatdown probably let him weak after the rampage. He may slaughtered all those people at the end as an instant reaction, because of the supernatural possibility, but after that, he was so wounded that he felt he needed to recover, hidden from everyone.
In Halloween 4 or 5 (cant remember which) he gets shot by the police department about 500 times and still cracks on.

No theory makes sense. The "not enough kills" doesn't make sense for reasons you explained(going 40 years without killing and still being powerful). The mask doesn't make sense because he had the mask for all 4 years he was inactive and yet Allyson's ex-boyfriend/the cop and Corey were both capable of overpowering him. Michael needed Corey's help to take down the cop and Corey overpowered him and took the mask from him.
It's just all around terrible writing that makes no sense. Not even "the inuries he suffered in Kills is why he's so weak" makes sense, seeing as right after suffering all those wounds and injuries he gets up and kills the entire mob, then sneaks back in to the house and kills Karen.
David Gordon Green should be ashamed of himself for the trash he's produced for us with this trilogy(2018 was ok, but the overwhelming stench of Kills and Ends eliminates any good will he created with that), and John Carpenter and Jamie Lee Curtis should be ashamed of themselves for signing off on it.

Michael has only been shown to kill laurie in 1 movie in the franchise and this trilogy did nothing but prove that they didn't want laurie to die because Michael had many chances to kill her but plot armor
He was weak without killing in ends because if he goes a while without killing his strength returns too a base level which is still strong but because he’s gone through so much damage that base level reduced significantly so in 2018 he was at say 50% at the start with no kills then in kills after killing he’s at 100% but after not killing he would be at 50% again but due to being injured and not killing he was reduced too 10%

I think his Ending has Alot to do with John Carpenter!! Because He created The Shape, then sold the proprietary rights to Halloween and Michael Myers became an ICON while Halloween III did Ok but was more like a James Bond type movie than a Horror movie. Now Carpenter Originally wanted to do 3 movies, 1 involving Obviously Michael Myers or The Shape, 1 as a Ghost story and 1 a Witch Which was Halloween 3. He sold the rights to Moustapha or whatever his name was for Halloween II and was around during the filming of Halloween II but only as a consultant type position. Because these New movies don't follow the Brother/Sister storyline which I actually thought was better than this iteration! Because seriously in the first movie did he only stalk Laurie because she went up to the front door of the old Myers house or did he feel a Connection to her and That's why he went after her. I think Carpenter dropped the ball and decided to put an End to Michael Myers because of own Short Sightedness on how Popular this Movie ICON could be!!
But Michael was after Laurie! Remember in 78 she dropped off keys at Myers house, then he became stalking her, following Tommy because he was the kid Laurie babysat, would stand outside her window, and stand outside her school window. Frank Hawkins was actually wrong and Laurie was right!

The mask is his identity. I totally agree with your theory. The longer he wears it the more he solidifies his place in the world. You can see this in the first scene of 2018 when that podcaster holds the mask up to him.

@@mechajason Obviously Michael had food, water, and rest down in the sewers cuz he was there for 4 YEARS and wasn’t a toothpick. It’s already shown to us that he needs to eat to survive (the dead eaten dogs). I like the mask theory A LOT, it just doesn’t add up at all pretty much anywhere lol. It could’ve been such a cool idea too, and would’ve made the ending more impactful.

My personal theory is similar to this, but I believe age is a factor as well. It's like multiplication. Let's say when Michael myers was in his 20s, he was a 4. Let's say the mask would multiply his power by 10. So obviously, his power would be 40. But as he aged, he turned into a 1, and therefore making his power 10.

My personal opinion as to why Michael was so weak was because after 4 years of not killing the evil inside him started to fail him. Plus he took so much damage from previous movies so he’s body was not in good shape either so the combination of both things lead to his downfall
Just the same with Laurie anything anyone says about Michael should be taken with a grain of salt as he is an enigma. No one knows the facts of how he operates and the what evil force drives him. What we hear from characters are more or less clues of those things.
Here is a definitive answer to the whole Michael being locked away in Smithsgrove and still coming out powerful enough to do his job in a primal state is because even though 40 years has passed he still has that power retained from killing before smithsgrove even if it wasn’t an entire spree. The time between didn’t drain his energy
He wore the mask for 4 years and was gimping around until he killed Doug. Splain.
He died because JLC wanted her moment. It makes no more sense for him die from his injuries in Ends than those received in Kills. They "jumped the shark" in Kills so to take him out like she did in Ends defies logic, but the actress and the directors/writers wanted it to be personal. An explosion, decapitation, crushing etc would have been more believable than him bleeding out. He had more holes than a tea bag at the end of Kills

My theory is that it’s because they stopped fearing Mike. Just about everytime anybody had no fear for the shape they bested him.
I would say definitely not the mask as he was already becoming what he became without it starting at the age of six.
The mask was just a convenient store Halloween mask that he stole from the local town store in Haddonfield.
Laurie talks about Michael's transcendence from when he kills but the facts about how it works isn't told.
How things played out in Kills most fans made the assumption that he was going to be like The Hulk and/or that the number of people he killed would sustain his strength. But again that was never said or confirmed.
True in Halloween 2018 he was fine not having killed while having been locked up. But he was also away from his mask all that time too. And the key factor in that was that he had not been attacked and had excessive damage done to him. I believe that made all the difference as to why he was weak in Ends.
You make a good point on the mask thing. Yes Micheal was 6 when he committed his first murder and yes maybe the evil was inside of him for god knows how long. But what I’m more thinking, is that the power went from Micheal into the mask.

It’s still up for debate whether or not Michael knew who she was. He sure acted like he knew who she was. He went after her in a different way than he did. I think it was a copy cat mental patient that was killed at the end. A mental patient who escaped and copied Michael even to the extent of his fingers. Michael does not team up with other people nor leave people escape. I don’t think it was him in the movie

I agree it's more likely it's the mask than the kills but if you're going to use the excuse he hadn't killed in 40 years and was still very strong and wouldn't die so therefore it can't be he gets his strength from the kills, the same would be True for the Mask. He hadn't worn the mask in 40 years either, yet he was still strong that night. So by that logic you'd have to conclude it's not the mask either.

It shocks me how many people out there didn’t understand what Laurie said in Kills. It wasn’t meant to be taken literally. When Michael kills, he doesn’t actually “transcend” and become unkillable. Rather, the more he kills, the more fear spreads throughout the community, and the idea of Michael Myers/The Boogeyman/The Shape becomes more popular, which allows evil to continually spread (and never die). So, it’s not Michael that can never die, but rather the idea of the Boogeyman that gets stronger and can never die.
It's like some twisted law of attraction at work, the more they project on him as being literal carnage and death then that is what he becomes.

When Corey was thrown off the bridge he needed glasses then when Micheal grabbed Corey Micheal saw the memories and let him go then after he didn’t need glasses ? His eyes were black ? Ridiculous to say he died because he didn’t have the mask. He kills with and without the mask. If the power was in the mask how could he manage all the kills in 2018 before even getting to the journalists to retrieve his mask. Gordon green just humanised Michael and ends more showed that with his injuries. He was just a wreck from injury. If you watch ends closely, there’s so many sub plot stories that are never explained and don’t make sense. One off the top is Corey showing his hand wound to Michael or checking it after a kill like he was healing from killing. The other is why did they show Michael watching Laurie while Corey went upstairs with Alyson to have him do nothing else for the rest of the film except stand in a sewer. The scene Michael killed the cop to me looked like it invigorated him and gave him energy so why not go terrorise the town again or show us him stalking Laurie again like a call back to H1. In fact I’m sure there’s a scene in a trailer where Laurie says she keeps seeing Michael. So maybe it was used and they dropped it to steer it towards the new ending of Corey dying. I’d love to see the original scripts and endings before all the changes because as much as I like ends. It’s been massively sliced and diced like halloween 6. Taking different versions and editing them together. But do I believe the mask had power. No. I believe Michael possibly felt more powerful when he was wearing it due to the fear it gave people and also that sense of a comforter of being hidden.
He gets his powers from killing you see in the sewer after Cory gets him to kill that dude. Michael clearly appears to get stronger after he kills him
Good video! but the theory is not a good one. The shape is pure evil and that gives him the strength to do the things he does and withstand damage like no one else. He is not Jason as we saw in Kills he stopped the bleeding on his hand so we know he cures his injuries just don't show that because that is part of the mystery. I agree with everyone that Laurie and the shape should have died together in a much longer fight scene than what we got. Hell, I would have had Hawkins in that final fight as well to try and redeem himself maybe saving Allyson from the shape, and then Laurie jumps in and blows the shape's arm off completely with a shotgun and we see the shape and Laurie both dying together would have been a much dramatic ending in my opinion.

That's stupid because as you pointed out he didn't have the mask while incarcerated so what now smart guy! I think it was that Micheal transfered some of his power to Cory and between that and Michael's advanced age and all the previous damage inflicted on him during the other films that the spirit possessing Michael was looking for another to possess and that person betraying Micheal so weakened Micheal it didn't give him the ability to recuperate from his injuries like usual and thus enough damage was done to keep him in the cycle of recuperation but he didn't make it before they dumped his body into the shredder
Let’s face it, they made so much money with the last trilogy, they’re going to bring him back. We all know there’s a clause in the contract that Michael can never be killed so theyll probably pull the “it was just some homeless psycho guy who found Michael’s mask and happen to come into Laurie’s house and attack her” or something. There were parts about Ends I hated and really liked, but it was far from an appropriate send off for the franchise. The whole ‘Laurie not really giving a f$&k about him anymore” was really dumb and introducing a new character in the last movie and making the entire movie about him when we haven’t invested in him was insane. I can’t stand Alyson as a character so I’m hoping she’s not involved in the next one. I enjoyed the 2018 and Halloween Kills )(except for the “Evil dies tonight shite, that was cringey as hell) but Ends was just horrible. As a stand alone movie, I could’ve liked it, but as a Halloween movie, especially the ending of it, it failed miserably.

So your telling me that he can do that but in the very next scene Corey can just go down to the sewers and beat Michael in a 1 vs 1 and take the one thing he cares about nah I just don't buy it, feels like they had an original plan and shit got messed up when the pandemic hit they just started pumping out random ideas thinking it would be great but in reality this movie isn't horrible but it's not good by any means
