- Though he lived the majority of his life in the United States MF DOOM was denied re-entry into the U.S. in 2010 after an extensive European tour in support of his final solo album Born Like This. As someone who’s had family members deal with immigration and attaining residency in the US, I’m really sad DOOM had to deal with all that shit too. US immigration is so fucked.
Unless you rush the border apparently. I'm not joking by the way, get a flight to Mexico and cross the border then get to New York and you're golden.
my mom is an immigrant, and is about to get her residency. I've seen her suffer so much during my life, just because she can't apply for a house so she can raise us right, and stuff like that. I'm just praying to god when she goes back to her country for her appointment, she will come back home safe and sound. I'm really thankful for everything she has done for me and my siblings. I understand what DOOM went through and it's unfortunate. Rest easy MF...

Here is a conspiracy theory that i came up with; Ben Grimm, probably one of the closest to DOOM, said back in mid ninety's DOOM was on a Greyhound bus coming to stay with him at a University in Georgia. The bus was pulled over and several kilo's of crack cocaine were found taped under the bus. DOOM went to prison for a minute, and ultimately the case was thrown due to a mistrial. He got very lucky with his case. I believe the US Gov't aka the Feds and law enforcement basically held a grudge, and would do anything to mess with him and his re-entry to the U.S.. Meh. The way simpler and logical explanation is he is facing the bullshit broken immigration process of the US.
This whole document denial issue is widespread and the case for the MAJORITY of people.
Hear it from the immigrants. You don't need some conspiracy. They are way way understaffed to give a fuck for that.

I always wondered what happened to him health wise and how he spent his last days alive approximately?
I saw a video on it by this guy called BlackySpeakz.
Basically, DOOM apparently had been diagnosed with a kidney disease, and had a bad reaction to some medications.
Apparently they made his throat close up and tongue swell, making it hard for him to breath. According to his wife, he was in an old room in the hospital, and due to the hospital being understaffed (probably due to the pandemic), they were unable to take care of him properly
It got so bad that apparently DOOM himself had to get out of his hospital bed to ask for help. Eventually, on October 31, they asked his wife to come to the hospital to turn off his ventilator

Ever thought bout doing an ADHD vid on DOOM? IMO he exhibited heaps of the symptoms and could have influenced his writing style.
I’ve considered many concepts for DOOM related projects but never has Dumile possibly having ADHD been one, lol.

It was very unfair to doom and he was lucky that the country he's was left in was a first world country that speaks the same language it would have been worse if it was a 3rd world country with a war going on

Your video fails to mention why Doom was denied re-entry to the US. The problem was his criminal record. The US won't let non-citizens with criminal records back into the country, even if they're a US resident.
What I'm surprised to hear is that Doom apparently didn't know about that. Because growing up in Germany and listening to Doom I (and many fans of his) was aware that he would never do a Europe tour because of these circumstances. When he did that first Europe tour in 2010 (which I attended) I figured he had decided to move to the UK and not return to the US.
if you've been convicted of a felony in the US you wouldn't be able to leave the country in the first place. his misdemeanor charges do not bar him from a right to citizenship or exclude him from being able to leave or return to the country.
@@tweadz9846 The Pitchfork article does say though that he wasn't able to return to the US because of a "crime involving moral turpitude". That plus some shit about an "over 1 year unlawful presence" in the US.
