- This is the first in my new series 'The Discography Timeline' where I take a look at the entire discography of an artist from start to finish. Who better I thought for the first episode than MF DOOM, the rapper who everyone seems to enjoy hearing my ramble about. Which I'm more than happy to do since he's one of my favorite musicians. I knew people wanted to see more DOOM-related content so I figured I'd get this video out first, it was created over the course of 58 days. This is pretty good considering the video is the longest video I've ever made as of now.

• That's That - an excellent showing of his lyrical ability and one of his more cryptic songs. Still haven't deciphered it completely myself
• Fancy Clown - one of the coolest ideas for a rap song I know of, and also the way he rhymes along with the sample is just brilliant
• Can I Watch? - not exclusively a DOOM song, but a great example of his creativity and the best female performance on any of his projects (there's one on each)
• November Has Come - yeah it's a Gorillaz song, but it's one of the few features we've actually gotten from DOOM and he definitely delivers
• Rapp Snitch Knishes - a classic DOOM song and an obvious pick, the chemistry between him and Mr. Fantastik is through the roof. While DOOM is the better rapper, Mr. Fantastik might just give the better verse here

God, I can't express how much I love the music you choose for background. Cowboy Bebop and Bully? Damn, finally some good shit on the background without having stupid royalty free beats that sound like an ill diseased chicken having a seizure and a heart attack at the same time.

IMO, he has over 5 legitimately amazing solo albums
The Villain rapped like every verse was his most important.
Including his stuff with KMD and his features and you already have one of the best rappers.
But add in the collab projects and you have THE best rapper.

I'm so lucky to have watched MF DOOM live in my own hometown in Leeds! It was so unexpected. I never seen his name on the lineup, but nobody could mistake the sound of FIGARO FIGARO coming from a nearby festival tent. I remember the pure joy at seeing the masked villain on stage with madlib in person.

Dooms real point to the characters and live impostors is so we don’t see him as Daniel dumile, a guy rapping a bunch of great songs, but as a character who will live on through our hearts while continuing to amaze us. That’s why I don’t care for the doom impostors, he wanted it to be that way and we should respect it
Daniel made DOOM , effectively, immortal.... Like a hip hop Messiah...Kareoke, DOOMposter etc, DOOM is STILL there/here, even though Daniel isn't... Because DOOM is music and a character. THAT IS FVCKIN GENIUS to me!
Fazers is one of my favorites because it is so dope but it's literally about nothing. Just verbal gymnastics and punchlines. Licupon is also very good.

The fact that this video was released in the grey area between DOOM's death and his family's announcement of it, is eerie in and of itself.
i really love these videos, i discovered DOOM about 2 years ago when a friend showed me te song doomsday, i always just thought it was a really chill song, then a couple months later i decided to look into more of his music, i remember hearing ALL CAPS for the first time and immediatly thinking: this shit is fucking dope. i'm only now really learning about how much of an icon he was to the rap scene, and about how he has such a deep persona. nowadays i listen to DOOM every single day because that shit slaps hard af.

Such a vast discography. I made a spotify playlist and it's upwards of 19 hours lol. And there are definitely songs that I missed either due to not being aware of a DOOM feature or a lack of availability on the streaming platform such as Venomous Villain. RIP to the supervillain.
I hope some more Special Herbs albums drop as well as some more lyrical gymnastics from MF DOOM. Rip MF DOOM.

DOOM was a character that represented and tried to bring awareness not just the stagnant and greed-driven ways of the rap genre, but the entire modern music industry as a whole. Villains that pretend to be your friends then send out stand in's after you travel half-way's across the country just to see them sing, just like a Doom-bot would do to you. DOOM had integrity and a respect for his art and his audience that most just don't see anymore, think of all the money he turned down just to make sure his voice was always HIS voice. In a endless sea of phonies he had a purity and passion that he wouldn't trade for anything and he really did leave when we needed him the most.
R.I.P MF DOOM, You taught me that super villains are real and that hero's can be too.

Talk about Red and Gold and Hey! in that video you mentioned at the beginning. Both are super underrated DOOM songs from Operation: Doomsday. Red and Gold has to be one of my all time favorites as it is one of MF DOOM's grim songs. It talks about seasons changing from summer to autumn and how gang violence rises in autumn because it becomes night time earlier in the day.
I always come back to "Take me to your Leader". From Fazers to The Fine Print, it's just perfect. And "the next levels"

I’m pretty sure I was recommended a bunch of MF DOOM related videos because I was watching a bunch of DOOM related videos but I’m pretty interested now. I’m definitely going to give some of these albums a listen if I can.
Just throw them on while you're at the gym or walking home, driving somewhere, etc. If you're not into rap it may seem really alien at first. Have fun!

Dangerdoom is my favorite album because that was my first introduction into DOOM the production the mixing the concepts all fire

BORN LIKE THIS is definitely my favorite DOOM album
Now it’s a certain that we’ll never see a follow up to “Madvillainy” due to DOOMs passing. I mean, it wasn’t going to happen anyway but now it’s 10000% not happening. Which is fine with me. Because like Madlib himself said, it would just be a continuation, just more songs. So people would nitpick it way too much.

- Count Bass D did have a couple of tracks on his album(s) featuring MF DOOM (Quite Buttery...Though I think MF DOOM may helped in the production of the Dwight Spitz album)
- Oh No made a compilation album that had MF DOOM, Phife Dawg, and Erick Sermon to name a few (Ohnomite)

@@AnAbsurdExistence I haven't played that in a minute, damn. Love that shit, the intro drums with the Hoe-cakes vibes, and 1,2 1,2 with the fenugreek; thats a solid album. Grimm may not be credited for any vocals, but I thought he had a hand in the production of it. I know that M.I.C and GRIMM hooked up for American hunger later on though.
You should definitely do Thats That. Its one of his best rhymes and fast paced songs ever made.

Have you ever heard the Yee Haw 12" with Molemen records? it's really overlooked in my opinion. It's two tracks produced by PNS of the molemen. He's the guy that produced Put Your Quarter Up ft. DOOM, Aesop Rock, and Slug from Atmosphere. It features the song Yee Haw which is the proto version of Kon Queso with Dooms old voice style (which i prefer in this case). It also has an even lesser known song "Is He Ill?" which later would end up on a Fat Beats compilation I think.
He definitely passes the 5 great album test
