I actually bought SIFU the other day, but quit the game because it's basically a roguelike. Every time you die, you have to start the whole level all the way back to the beginning. I never would have bought the game if I knew that. So buyer beware.
Assuming you misspelled Sifu, but you don't respawn if you die. You just age, until you get too old. Each death during a level will exponentially increase the years you age, so maybe if your skill was below bad, you may actually have died and respawned lol The game is punishing, but it's for a very good reason (to push you to learn the fighting mechanics/combos etc). One of the best games I've ever played.
@@blurgle9185 Yeah. I meant Sifu. When I was dying, my age was not increasing. If I recall, I was always 20 years old. And when I died, the game would put me back to the very beginning of the level. I definitely would have enjoyed the game if there was actual checkpoints. I don't have the patience when it comes to any kind of rouguelike. I value my limited time, and when game developers want to waste it, by forcing me to do the same thing over and over again, I immediately quit the game.
@@TurnerTurnip Like I said, death doesn't restart the level; you simply age. No checkpoint needed (though there are those too). Sounds like you were doing something wrong. That said, this game is skill-based. If you aren't enjoying the best system of all fighting games and willing to learn it, it will be a grind. It's not a game you play for story/progression but for the gameplay. I don't like Roguelikes either, except Hades.
@@blurgle9185 Well, I died three times if I recall, and I wasn't aging. I was remaining at age 20. Clearly I was doing something wrong. And for the record, I never play any game for the story. LOL. Good gameplay is all that matters to me.
@@TurnerTurnip I suggest you give it another go then. I've sunk countless hours on it, the gameplay is wonderful and its depth just never seems to end. If you do try it again, just remember that when you die you are given a choice to restart level or *rise*
My type of games. I'll say a little about a few of them. Dishonored 2 has some of the best level design I've personally seen in gaming history. I would've liked Control more than I did if it didn't have respawning enemies which led to the combat becoming stale and feeling like it just bloated the game. A Plague Tale Innocence is excellent and Requiem (not on this list) takes it to another level.
So true. I liked Control for the first few hours, but by the end, I was bored to tears. Game becomes so mind numbingly repetitive, and it's very long. Took me over 40 hours to finish. Game would have been much better if it was in the 10-12 hours mark.
No LucasArts games on the list?
"Heavy Rain" is a must play. If you like deroit: Become Human.

Alan wake 2 for me was boring as hell but graphics are really nice. Robocop is 10x more fun and no one is mentioning this game.
holy shit right? alan wake 2 put me to sleep so many times 😂 way overrated game
very good job!
Thank you!
You gamers have learnt a new word NARRATIVE!!! Well done education system!!!!!
Rather presumptuous of you.
Wouldnt God of War 2018 and Ragnarok be considered linear?
No
No but then they wouldnt be considered entirely 'open world' either. But who needs pointing out about of those games are good or not
doesn't the politics forced into alan wake 2 put you off?
And here comes the boomer with an off putting pfp moaning about woke.
What politics are there? I thought politics are problem in games made in US.
I watched a similar video before this, and I'll say here what I said there - Control is a boring, overrated game.

That Marvel trash made me laugh. Yet no Bioshock or Max Payne.
