- An enjoyable session spent at Hither Green station on the South Eastern Mainline where we see plenty of services from Southeastern.
The station was opened in 1895 by the South Eastern Railway, the station was built at Hither Green Junction which had been there for roughly 30 years already at this stage.
At first there was a booking hall that served the St Germans Estate, the booking hall itself is gone now but you can still see some evidence of it existing, the red gate posts still stand to this day.
The site of the booking hall was being used by a timber merchant for a long while, but the site has now been closed and is being refurbished for residential use.
The original station masters house is going strong at the same address, 69 Springbank Road.
My next station will be St Johns.
