Trains at: New Cross, SEML/ELL, 11/05/24

An enjoyable session spent at New Cross station on the South Eastern Mainline and East London Line where we see plenty of services from Southeastern and London Overground.
There's a lot of history associated with this station but far too much to try and explain on here because of everything that has happened over the years since this station was first built.

the A B C D platfroms are to stop to confusions between new cross and new cross gate which are very close to each other. Both stations share the same staff so makes it easy when communicating assignments to platforms, eg platfrom A is new cross whereas 1 is new cross gate if they were both platfrom 1 it would lead to confusions. Similarly reduces passenger confusion too

Same with Waterloo East having platforms named A B C and D to avoid confusion with the main station as it’s linked to it
