Nate, you guys are killin' it! Just got back from a ride on my '23 ZX10R which just happens to have a 2WDW flash on my ECU and all I can do is smile. It's a pleasure to ride and run the quickshifter- auto blipper up down through the gears around our lakes and mountains. I'll have it back at the track this coming week(in the "noob" amateur class) at the 101st Loudon Classic over here in New Hampsha'. Thanks again Nate and the whole 2WDW team! Keep yourselves safe! 😃👍❤🏍🏁 Randy
I hope the aftermarket nerds out on this 500 like they have the 400. Needs forged or carbon fiber wheel options now. I mean, why not? Also hope engine builders work on it like they have the 400. I've seen videos where the 400 is making 64 horsepower at the wheel (E85), WITHOUT increased displacement (extensive headwork, larger valves, increased compression, custom piston, OEM cam profiles). Would be a fun racetrack project to see just how far it could be pushed in power production and lightweighting, without reliability issues.
So the wheels and frame is the same as 400. You can easily slap carbon wheels on this As for the engine, 2wdw shows that it makes close to 60whp boltons and a tune. Building the motor can easily net 65+ maybe close to 70 which would be incredible
@@pratmak Found one builder discontinued their Ninja 400 work and reconfigured to do the same work for the Ninja 500. Also a major parts supplier for the Ninja 400 racing parts has a lot for the 500 already. The engine builder has quoted about 70 horsepower and 39 ft-lb. That's roughly better power-to-weight than a factory CBR650R.
@@exothermal.sprocket that’s incredible numbers! I guess my rough guesstimate was accurate haha! Who’s the builder, I actually may be interested in building my 500 motor for racing at some point.
@@pratmak I don't have any experience with this place, but digging around the internet it's what I could find published. Dano's Performance out of Hemet, California. By the looks of the website, they have tons of engine building experience, with many other models. Also Norton Motorsports for racing parts and Spears Enterprises for the needed clutch upgrade.
Bro could you please do a step by step on quick shift. Thanks heaps in advance 💯 👍 from Australia. I can't wait for the day I pull the trigger and buy everything you sell for my 40th ninja collection
2024 500 owner who recently got a 2WDW mail in reflash, which I love, with a question on this: Will this also work with GP/race shifting? I want to both make the switch to push down upshifting, and install this quickshifter. I have to say, the combo of the ecu flash AND adding a R6 throttle tube made it an entirely different, much easier and smoother to ride machine.
What if there is a bike and/or modification combination that you have not dyno'ed? Would you let the customer know? Or do you just use 1 that you know will work?
Nope. Ride-by-wire throttle’s allow you to have quick-shifters AND auto-blippers, but bikes with ‘physical’ throttle cables can only get a quick-shifter (via the ECU being reflashed to briefly kill ignition in the engine).
You think this bike would be enough for me? Im not a brand new rider, as I have had a little 250 cc cafe racer bike this past year living in peru, and I want something powerful enough for me to grow into and I'm deciding between this and the Yamaha R7. I'm 19, what do you think is the right choice?
This would be just fine in my honest opinion. These 400s have a lot of potential in right hands. Get it, and spend the rest in track training to make yourself faster :) it is always more fun riding slow bike fast than fast bike slow
I have a 500. Sometimes I want more, but this thing is about as fast as you can get and still get 80+mpg. I want speed and alot of it. But to be fair, it's a 0-60 monster. Yeah get it. 6/10 speed 9/10 mpg 10/10 style (black and red) 10/10 value for money
No. You can only have auto-blip if the bike’s fully throttle-by-wire (i.e. fully electronic), and the Ninja 500’s throttle is actually an “old-school” cable.
@sleeper.simulant7327 Nah many people who dtno, flash and tune are tuning ECU's! I have found 1 place that will mess with the ECM on my 1190RX! 5000 shops would my GSXR750 or my 2010 Fireblade! They do the same thing but they aren't the same I guess! PC/MAC!
So, can you tune a 2017 EBR 1190RX? It came factory tuned from EBR with a HMF muffler and mid pipe but I want to out a SC Project Crt70 on it to make it Very Loud, Big Block LOUD!
@@stylin60es idk, im from middle east. Chinese bike is far reliable than euro bike that's what i can tell you. Most of us use Japanese car and chinse bike for daily commuter. will this work with the 2024 ninja 500 abs bikes with DBC throttle, or do they have to be DBW? thanks, just got mine 2 days ago and up shifting at WOT is hard, you really have to pull up hard.. was really interested in this quickshifter 😁
All 500s are traditional throttle cable. The only differentiation between cable throttle and ride by wire is on RbW one is able to do auto blip downshift in addition to quick shifters. Cable throttle auto blip downshift isn't (easily or cheaply) possible, but typically you can still have quick shifters.
Ninja 500 owner. Saw this video as a suggest, went to your website and realized that I live 5 minutes away from you. Small world!
