I'm holding my phone in my tent on our airmattres watching you. We have been homeless for 2 years but living in a tent since April 1'st in maine. We have come a long way and are getting ready to buy a canvas hot tent that we can put a wood stove in. Now that we have been living off grid for so long we have come to love it. I have learned so much from watching youtubers like yourself. I absolutely love the woods and the peace and quiet. My husband always says we're living off grid in the grid. I hope you're home doesn't get affected by the fires. I live in maine and we have had the smoke and smelt it coming this way and we pray for you all!! God bless and keep you safe.
Hi Jay! A suggestion on your squirrel problems with your pan. Store them upside down. It will keep any unwanted guests from making any unwanted deposits. 😊
Jay i watch A LOT of camp videos, Kent Survival, Joe Robinet etc but you are my favourite. I love how you love food and your humility and willingness to learn. Lets not forget your sheer guts to try the untried shall we say. Carry on my friend 🇨🇦🇨🇦
Yeah, you guys need all the rain that you can get, it's in your best interests to stop all those forest fires and get everyone back home and get on with their lives. As always I'm praying for the people the north who I adore!
Dear Jay, youl'll never be alone! We all are with you in our minds. I watch every episode of your videos. You made the right decision, to go to this spot in the woods. And it seems to be a great adventure. And I guess, you and the land needed this rain very much! I wish you all the best out there, many greetings from Wuppertal, Germany, take care, yours, Wolfgang. 👍💫🏕👋
"I've been in a can flavor."....😅 It was nice seeing the Big Dipper in your view of the sky. I see it on clear nights in my view of the sky from the southern shores of Lake Ontario.
Hey Jay, we love that you talk to us on your phone video so we know you are safe. Outdoor showers are the best…so refreshing. Hope all the rain somehow helps with the fire situation. Hang in there…😊
I love that you just put words on the difference between being by your self an being alone, being by yourself is by choosing and being alone is a situation forced upon you ❤
Hi Jay, I live in Toronto but grew up in northern Ontario. Love watching your videos because the wilderness reminds me of home 🌲🌳 and you’re always so positive! Take care & stay safe.
I also grew up in Northern Ontario Canada Kirkland Lake, where are you from. We just came back from vacation in KL I miss the bush. I currently live just outside St.Catharines in a small town called Fonthill. Not far from you in TO.❤
Vinegar in a spray bottle is really handy to have on hand. Buy a Gallon , it makes for an awesome cleaner. Just spray it on your dishes and wipe off with a hand towel.
As you said, I am laying at my bed bed and watching your video but at the same time I feel that I am with you. Thanks for sharing such moments with us.
Yes you are right are talking to me hella there, just to let you know you're video's give me so much peace and relax me. Love them keep up the good work I'm stuck watching you and the outdoors boys on UA-cam. Love youre guys videos.
Hey Jay! Great video. Try folding your excess flooring under to them size and shape of your tent. That way it won't collect water that could run inside.
Yes you're absolutely right Jay, in my case my phone. I'm so happy that you're all still ok during the awful wildfires! You have the survival skills and your family is safe.
Hi Jay, I stumbled upon your video today while taking a sick day. This is extremely healing and therapeutic for someone who doesn't reside anywhere near the wilderness and is living a hustle-bustling lifestyle. Thank you for sharing this! New subscriber here.
I live in Illinois in the United States and we had horrible smoke from the Canadian forest fires last summer. The smoke was so bad down here, there were air quality warnings issued, telling people to stay indoors. I can't imagine what you all were going through up there!
Hi Jay the northern lights are so beautiful, the squirrel wants food, sorry you are still on evacuation notice ,praying everything returns to some form of normalcy soon stay safe
Hello Jay, a shower after a few days of roughing it. Is the best feeling ever. Mac & cheese w/dogs or sausage. Even baloney too 😋😋 rodents are nasty. Turn pots & pans upside down. Hopefully you can return home soon. Thoughts and prayers are with you as well as your country men/women. Stay safe be well. Praying 🙏 for more rain for the fire areas
Hi Jay! So sorry you are still on evacuation notice! Praying for rain over the fires. Next time you go to a supply run, pick up a squirrel trap cage. Put some peanut butter and a few nuts as bate. Works every time! Bring it away about 8-10 miles away.
Jay we've talked a few times before.. I changed my channel name before I put out videos. But my wife thinks Im nuts because I consider Mac n cheese or beans n wieners gourmet. But like u said, it's so delicious I'd still be eating it if I were a billionair lol. Glad to see you're thriving during the evacuations. Most people are wildly stressed out trying to figure out what to do... then there's you, just chilling out in the woods making the best of it. Very admirable. Hope all stays well and ends well for you. Have enjoyed every video since the beginning. Thank you for the good content.
Right on Jay, its been raining here to but were not complaining at all, its better than forest fires, soon it will be snow, Keep your stick on the ice and stay safe
Jay you are right we are right here with you all the way. We are listening to you every video you post it sends us notifications and we are there. God Bless you and stay safe.
"I hear something rubbing steel". I can imagine those Canadian squirrels all sitting around putting on war paint and sharpening their bowie knives to raid the camp. Whatever you do don't let them into any energy drinks. We saw what can happen from the movie, "Over the Hedge".
Hey Jay, best to you buddy keeping it upbeat and positive. Your experience with the squirrel reminded me of a book called “my side of the mountain”, and your tormentor should be “the Baron”. If you haven’t read or listen before, I think you would appreciate.
I like your set up There's a lot of new items in your equipment this time I like your shower…looks like it really felt good..good job on the blurring I didn’t think they still make Klik and it’s brother Kam! Mr Squirrel is now your official camping buddy Hoping all goes well and you have plenty of movies and shows to watch at night Take care 🇨🇦❤️
Next time, just clean the pan with water and then heat it over the stove for a few minutes. Temperatures of 150-200 C (or higher) do far more to disinfect that pan than all those wipes. Cast Iron should easily be able to withstand that. I usually shave my head by washing it with a washcloth or in/after a shower to moisten and soften the hair and then shave it with a cartridge razor like a Gillette mach 3. No electricity is needed and a single blade lasts for around 10 shavings (I only have to shave it twice a week though as my blonde/grey hair is not really noticeable until 3/4 days after I shave).
Hello, i am watching because we have a hurricane coming to Florida. We also have possible tornado warning as well. So I am stocking up and praying. I'm praying for you as well. Stay safe
Greetings from NJ Jay. Im so glad we can keep you company. You could also do the shower inside one of your tents by bringing along a blow up kiddie pool to stand in. Thought about it for my pop up camper. You said your Buddy Dave was near by. Maybe you could visit with him at his place to break up the monotony of your time there? Or he could visit. Never miss a video!
Lunch ala tent, culinary arts in the wild. Jay you got great taste. Glad the rains came you need all you can get. From the start I thought you were going to get rained out.
Glad you've been safe. I have one of those shower units, and I found they need plumbers tape on the hose to head part. They work great though! Great camp you have there, and all that rain helped alleviate the fires a bit. Stay safe!
See things from the squirrel's perspective. You roll into town, set up a tent, have food and tools all over, just getting in the way and crimping his style. Squirrel thinks (in his best Bugs Bunny voice) "You realize ... this means war." At this point it's either you or the squirrel, and he's not quitting. Best resolution may be to declare a truce and get used to it. :-) Things could be a lot worse. You've got a pretty comfortable setup going there. Hopefully it will be over soon. Hang in there.

Yep, squirrels and mice can be a BIG pain the in rear camping. They can poop all over and chew up stuff. Not a bad idea to bring mice traps and maybe even a small squirrel cage/trap. Have to get one of those shower nozzles. Looks pretty good.
Hi from Winnipeg Jay! Glad to see you're thriving out there. Not sure if anyone else has mentioned it, but if you're going to have one of those power stations around most of the time it might not be a bad idea to look into a 12v portable fridge/freezer. I know Ecoflow has just come out with a new one, and their power stations look to be pretty sweet.
Hi Dear Jay, Good to see you are well and in a good mood. It's sad with the animals that tease you, they are incredibly persistent. I sympathize camp in my garden in the tent with pouring rain and wind.😉😁 I live on a peninsula with the North Sea and the fjord around my house is close to the water and a mega bird sanctuary. Here it roars with thunder and storm surges. But I love it and get to read a lot, but my labrador male Anton wants to sleep inside the house with my son.🤣 Hope you can return home soon to the dog and your sweet girlfriend. Take care now, many warm thoughts and hugs to you Maria Denmark,❤🙏😊

Them Fairydiddles will chew a hole to get into your tent if you are not watching. Chewed a hole into my cabelas kitchen canvas cupboard and all it had was canned food inside. They are just nosey at times.
Hey Jay! I've got a suggestion for you. For your shower, if you have the stuff to make it with, make you a shower curtain and a frame to hang it on , for the purpose of the camera. That way nobody can see you on camera. I like how you are surviving out there. That's what we call " roughing it ". We use to do it alot during hunting season. When deer season rolled around we would spend weeks out on hunting leases. I remember taking baths in the cold creek. Talk about making you feel like a new man lol! Anyway, continue to stay safe out there !
Looks like you could use a "camper" top (not sure what they call them up there, but i mean like what Mav uses). Lightweight aluminum ones are easy to put on and take off and would keep critters out, they have a rack top on some too so nice for hauling a canoe.the brands ive been looking into for solar powerstations are jackery, bluetti, anker, and ecoflow. When charging with solar (hit and miss) i want one that will handle 3000+ charges, they are not all equal in that regard.
Hey jay, here is a thought for your cabin, i have a solar Fridge at my cabin. The brand is solstice. That is if you are going with solar power at your cabin. And it will save money on propain. I hope you can make it home soon. Stay safe and sound and take care 😊

I feel like I'm watching one of those movies where the main character goes out to camp and slowly looses his mind on camera Lol. :)
I totally agree Jay. Nothing beats Kraft Mac n cheese and hotdogs when your camping. I absolutely love it.
Thanks for sharing your feelings, during the hardtime.

I agree that the squirrel wants food, but I do not suggest feeding it. Then it will only get more aggressive, and you will never get rid of it.
Jay I always leave dishes, pots, and pans upside down just in case, the bucket and big pot can collect rain water stay safe and enjoy

No shame in that food, my man. I ate all sorts of that growing up. Not sure if they have the same in Canada, but lots of hamburger helper and Kraft.
Hey Jay, the Buffalo segment was cool. He walked by you and looked as if to say, "What's up"!
A cool moment for sure
I always store pots and pans upside down when not using them. This ensures any little critter doesnt climb in and do his business in my stuff!!
It's mouse poop. Store upside down as others have said. Mouse traps will help. Get the easy reset, a must for your camp as well. Also use silicone utensils on your pan to keep the finish good. 😊
Hey Dave, you should have built a tripod 6 feet high and attached the shower head to it... try that for the next one....
Good tip
amazing way to shower Jay you seem to have covered all the bases as for the rain over in the uk we have had our worst summer july/ august just a total washout wishing you all the best
