Which do you think is better for dry skin? The lancome or the hourglass?
personally I do love the hourglass foundation more than other foundations like Lancome, Armani, Nara, etc. getting the correct shade at Sephora helped a lot and I noticed prepping your skin really makes a difference to all foundations. I normally have dry skin but I ALWAYS prep my skin regardless if I’m wearing foundation or not. I understand the purpose on why u didn’t, but I think it really depends on the preferences of what people want to use. Yeah I mixed with strobe cream and the CT Flawless filter and it was amazing for this foundation. I have dry skin as well
Yo soy fiel a Double Wear desde hace más de 15 años. Pero en verano uso una CC cream de Shiseido con protección solar 50+ porque prefiero llevar la piel menos cargada...
He probado muchas bases y (salvando la Sheer glow de Nars, que es mi otra favorita) siempre vuelvo a la de Estée Lauder.

Try half a pump, at least to start, to get a feel for the product, applying a thin layer, & go from there?..otherwise...not going to perform to it's potential...idk about anybody else, but I almost ALWAYS take multiple uses/trials before I have a true idea of how to use them best. Can you do a review on the Armani luminous silk foundation?
It is amazing the difference it makes when you turn the lights down. No wonder it is so difficult to select a shade for foundation. The store has light different from your home from the office from outside blah blah blah. And trying to use one of the online charts etc that promise to select your correct shade - total disaster. The challenges of being a make up lover !

So true. That's why I try to go in store and do swatches and then walk outside to see how it looks in natural light. You would think they could figure out the light situation so people don't have to end up doing returns😒

I haven't finished watching the video yet. I think you applied too much product to start with. I think the amount you applied to the brush side could have easily covered your entire face.

I agree. I use one pump for my whole face with a brush. And I have very dry skin. I use a serum and my Supergoop EVERY SINGLE DAY spf only underneath because it is SUPER MOISTERIZING. I don't like the MAGIC CREAM or a regular moisturizer or a primer because my spf has sooo much slip. I don't like more than 1 layer because the finish can look too heavy for my liking with more than one layer becauseof my textured skin. But one thin layer looks really nice. Any only a thin veil of powder.
I have a hack with applying foundations especiallythis one. I like to cross-hatch thin swipes all over one cheek with a small concealer brush, before buffing it in. One area at a time, but I feel this foundation can set a little faster than my other foundations. So one area at a time is best. And it ensures I get an equally distributed layer on rather than blobbing it on and having to drag it all over to blend out. I do one cheek, then the other then forehead, down the t-zone and under the jawline.
I love mine! We wear the same shade.

Great review Patty!!! I was very excited about this foundation and the new Lancôme foundation! I wanted to watch your review on this new Hourglass foundation before making a decision on which one to get. My skin has ALWAYS been super dry but as of the last few months I’ve become more normal/combination skin. I’m dry in certain areas but I get extremely oily in my T zone. I don’t know 🤷🏼♀️ if it’s the extreme heatwave we are having. I’m so torn on which one to get!!!
It looks nice on you. I have normal to combo so it may be ok for me. I say “may” because I live in a very dry climate so that does affect how foundations and products perform on my skin.
Oh wow im glad i watched this i was very excited to buy it. i have dry skin but can get an oily t-zone but i also have rosecha and excema and i hate mat foundations so ya think this will be a pass then for me.

I would use less than 1/2 a pump. The goal is some evening out not a mask!

Watch the way Tania applied it before deciding against it. It looks like less is more and it seems to stretch really well with a brush versus a sponge. Morgan and Tara Lynn liked it too and they both say they have dry areas. Maybe it just depends on the prep, application method and the right color match.

First day: I didn’t prep my skin enough so it was very matte and I looked about 100. 👵🏻 Second day: I used the Hourglass primer on one side of face and the Laura Mercier hydrating primer on the other. It actually went much better with the hydration on my dry cheeks but the Hourglass worked great on my oily T-zone. 🤷🏻♀️ I wore it outside while doing yardwork in 92 degree high humidity and it didn’t budge or transfer. I like that aspect of it. I don’t get the glow that everyone is talking about even though I do find it blurring and it didn’t settle in my not-so-fine lines.
It won’t be my favorite for every day because I have to fuss so much, but I may save it for outdoor events. A brush is the way to go for sure. One pump is all it takes, it spreads so well and the coverage is great even though it is very lightweight you can’t even feel it! It is like no other foundation I have ever tried, and I have tried MANY! However I’m not crazy about their shades. I don’t know why a big company can’t do better at creating neutrals. Pretty disappointed because one of the biggest selling points for me was that it doesn’t have fragrance! I do think the foundation is so unique it’s worth at least getting a sample if you can. 😘

I'm still undecided. I don't have "dry patches", I seem to be dry all over. My skin NEVER produces any oil whatsoever, not even a teeny drop! I do get days when it feels more normal, which is a great foundation day 🙃
I have dry skin and had the same experience with this. Really didn’t like it at first and felt it looked really heavy and masklike. It looked much better when my oils started coming thru but that took a few hours! I don’t want to have to wait hours for my foundation to look great 😏 disappointed so far but will keep playing around with it with different primers etc! 🤔
Wasn’t the color too light for your skin tone? It looks like a white mask. Also didn’t catch which color was this?
wish she stated it in the caption, but she said it was Shade 5. I did check the next shade, 7.5, and looks much darker than 5.

I agree with your first comments about hourglass foundation. It’s way to yellow on you (maybe you need one shade darker). It looks like your putting on this foundation to be in a Japanese Show, they white out there faces for that Geisha Look. I do like the coverage, just one more shade darker, then it will look perfect. Texture is always going to show even worse when the shade is bright and too light . Hourglass is a hard brand to find a correct color match 😢
