Great review....just found your site!....Please review the new CHANEL LES BEIGES Water-Fresh Tint Foundation. I've heard it's wonderful and fine for dry skin.
Hi Jess! Here's my master list. At the top right of the spreadsheet, you can type in things like "hydrating" or "smoothing" or "blur" etc depending what's most important to you and it'll filter out the results ranked best to worst: geekoutofwater.com/foundation-fest/
Oooh that could make a fun video because I have a whole rolling cart of eyeshadow palettes in my closet that I rarely use because you can't get them anymore and most of the time in videos I only want to wear things you all can still get (because there's nothing more sad than someone getting all excited about something I'm wearing and then having to say, sorry you can't get it anymore!) but I'm sure I have some I've forgotten about!! I will add that to my to-do list for videos! Thanks, Vickie =D
I had to go with 4.5 too because the other colors were too YELLOW! I would have liked it a tad deeper for the Summer (it did oxidize a bit on me) . . . but such as it is, I will be wearing it in the Fall/Winter. I also feel like, based on your review, less is more.
Can’t wait for your review on Jones Rd! I have been eyeing that for my mature, desert dry skin……. Thanks for another great review. Love your hair and cat making an appearance in the background
Can I ask you if you've tried it and if so how did it turn out?? I have desert dry skin myself, no normal to dry but just dry as hell because of eczema and just being "blessed" with dry skin so I can only use hydrating products with no drying ingredients!
I used this today for the first time. So far so good. I heard a suggestion on other U-tube channels; use less product. I followed that advice and didn't have settling. I do agree that it seems more mat than glowy. Thanks for the review.
I agree! I have dry skin and on me, I see less of that light diffusing effect? It’s more of a natural finish on me. In the winter, it’ll probably be more natural matte.
I personally think u look really pretty...ur makeup is applied beautifully. Your eye shadda...ect. great video I just got this foundation and freaked out when it looked orange on my hand. I put it on my face today and I was surprised that it bleded in really well melted into the skin like u said ..have a good evening
Thank you for this one! I went without my Tretinoin prescription for a few months and I started breaking out. I can relate to the chin breakouts. Drives me crazy trying to figure out how to cover them. I’ve been very curious about this one and glad to have your opinion!
I wonder if slacking on my tretinoin is part of my breakout issue. This is the lamest excuse ever but when I got home from my trips I didn't unpack my skin care bag for almost 2 weeks and didn't use my tretinoin all that time. (I finally unpacked some of it! lol still not all of it).
Seeing the criminal on your chin reminds me that I'm almost glad I have rosacea. When my derm doc told me about all the things I could no longer have or do, I was sad at first. So now it seems my skincare routine has become rather boring, but I use the same simple products, read labels obsessively, and can say I've not had a breakout of any kind in several years. I'm 62, so hopefully hormones are completely stable - or absent - after thirty years of a dark scary ride with PCOS. I'm a happy camper, and I look like my mom did at the same age, which ain't too bad! Love your videos! Your explanations are wonderful, and my cats love my makeup routine too!
@@goow I chose to blame the lack of Tretinoin in my routine, but could be my skin changing. I will be 40 soon and have noticed more breakouts than when I was a teenager. Salicylic acid helps me as well.
Isn't foundation magic? However despite the many foundation shades Hourglass does, they always oxidize on me to something kinda too yellow, isn't that weird!? Anyhoo, thanks for another great review!
I have that issue with almost all of the Physicians Formula foundations (except they go blazing tangerine orange on me!) It's so wild. Body chemistry is fascinating :)
I do!! LOL I just got one TODAY from Nordstrom because I did not look far enough at the Ulta sale 😂 at least I got 15% off.... lol but now I'm going to get another because HALF OFF holy cow, can't pass that up! This stuff is like gold to me. I never want to be without it. Thanks for the heads up!!!
I wonder your opinion on the new Dior Forever transfer proof, as you & I have similar skin types/color etc. I haven’t tried it but many great reviews so far by influencers. Would love for you to review it. 😊
My favourite morning: breakfast whilst watching your videos. I enjoy them so much. Thank you for this honest review. I wanted to get the hourglass and was waiting for your review. I think I will refrain from this one though. Looking forward to the next video! Best regards from the Netherlands 🤗
Thanks!!! I'm having fun with it being short :) and it's so fast to dye now that I might be experimenting some more with that.... I'm about due to bleach my roots again!
I'm going to have to dig into my drawers because I thought I had it, but I don't have it in my foundation spreadsheet, which probably means I don't have it - maybe I was thinking of the Dior Face & Body. I do love that one and the Forever Glow. I've had good luck with Dior foundations. If I don't have the matte version I'll add it to my to-buy list! Thanks, Linda!
Hellofrom Toronto! First time commenting, long time viewer :) Thank you for this - your review is the one that I've been waiting for! Love your personality soooo much, so happy I stumbled across your channel (and btw where do we find your soaps??) sending virtual hugs and love xo
Added to my list!! I am hoping the WG comes back in stock. I wasn't able to get it before it sold out at launch and it's been out of stock ever since. :(
Hey I would like you to try The Huda Beuaty Fauxfilter Luminous Matte Liquid Concealer and see what you think apparently everyone says it’s a good concealer
That should be your signature lip color. It is GORGEOUS on you, especially with the purple hair. 😍 With the new omicron booster coming out, we’re hoping to go to a concert in November for my birthday. I’m thinking of going purple again. You’re my inspiration. 🤩
hello, I have a question please. I can see your reviews are honest and you have tried different products, my skin is so crazy dry. so among all of foundations you have tried, which one was the best for dry skins? Thank you.
My favorites right now are Haus Labs, NARS Light Reflecting, Guerlain Terracotta, Polite Society, Wet n Wild Tinted Hydrator, Missha Perfect Cover, and the silver TirTir compact.
Hello! I absolutely love your videos. I’m nearly 40 with fair normal to dry skin. Might you have a recommendation for a “gray”/taupe toned foundation like CYO Lifeproof was? Unfortunately, I am allergic to niacinamide and am prone to milia, so the Purito (so so sad) and Missha with mineral oil are out. Thanks!
I don't think the Yensa Skin on Skin BC Foundation has niacinamide - Light Neutral is the shade I have that is a similar undertone to the CYO. I miss that CYO Lifeproof!!! :(
Both this one and the Lancome were fine in terms of the dry skin component on me. If you're looking for a slightly more dewy finish I think I'd go Lancome.
I just want this to be elegant and beautiful, pore smoothing perfection. Let's tell them to do that. Have you tried those mighty patches? I am addicted to those. I'll wear one even w/ my makeup on, just to cover a beast. Life savers.
I had never tried the patches thinking I don't get breakouts, but now that I seem to have this recurring theme going on, I was thinking I should buy some!
Hi Meg! I have so many that they rotate in and out of my favorites. Right now the 2 I'm grabbing the most are the Nars Light Reflecting Foundation and the Bobbi Brown Serum Foundation - but anything on my list that ranks A- or higher is likely to be in my rotation at any given time! geekoutofwater.com/foundation-fest/
Wonderful video and review, thank you! You looked fabulous, of course; however, going to pass on the foundation. It seems nice enough, but I'm likely not the target audience. Caught a glimpse of the Beautiful Ziva earlier in the video, please tell her she needs more camera-time! ;)
I miss when Ziva used to sit on my cabinet behind me when I filmed! lol there used to be a separate background light back there and it was out of frame so she was actually sitting under the light but all you could see in the video was her sitting behind me.
In the dead of winter I'll pull barely cool, and the rest of the year I'm pretty much spot on neutral, though unless I'm wearing self tanner I usually prefer the look of a slightly cool undertone on me.
Great review....just found your site!....Please review the new CHANEL LES BEIGES Water-Fresh Tint Foundation. I've heard it's wonderful and fine for dry skin.
Yes!!! I’ve been wondering about that one too!! It’s beautiful…. I’ve not seen a negative review yet!! 💋
Jealous! Now you can binge watch all the previous videos 😉I never buy a new foundation before checking Shelly’s excel sheet first!
I'm 40 with dry skin, and your reviews help me narrow down foundation choices. Thanks.

It's coming up next! =D Spoiler alert, it's good :) lol
Your makeup looks great! I can't wait for the Jones Road one. Will you be reviewing the Westman Atelier Dewy Foundation Drops?
The Jones Road just got here, w00t! I've got the WA on my list to buy as well :)

As your shade twin, but slightly older and crustier skin match, I appreciate your analytical skills the most. Your rating system rocks.

Loving the new dr jart bb cream and summer fridays skin tint as well as the elf liquid filter

Did it give you polka dot pores on your nose? It looks like a perfect match otherwise. Loved seeing Ziva creeping in the background 😍
It didn't really settle into pores, but was annoying in its line settling the firsts half hour or so.
