7.5 looked great but with the whole look 6.5 just brings it altogether. It seems to give you a fresher/brighter look.
That's exactly why I'm torn on this, Cici. It's very flawless from about two feet back, which is really where most people see you from, you know? Not perfect up close. But....who is right up on ya that cares about your makeup? Really, you know? Hmmmm.....

Seriously tho...I like the 6.5 side better. It looked more glowy, lighter? Maybe it's because I watch you on my phone but I can't see yellow. But foundation confuses me more than anything. I looked at this foundation last night and the shade match is BS...matched me to 7.5 and I'm definitely lighter than you with cool, pink undertones. Hahaha Sheila! Thank you. I think the saying is used a lot for job recommendations and such. Like a candidate is "damned with faint praise" meaning, like, the person who wrote the recommendation said, "This is a good candidate. She is never late for work." And it's like....oh dear.....obviously nothing else they could think to say. haha. I felt that way here. Haha.

Hello MJ! I totally admire your strength and, believe it or not, I agree. Once we put on our foundation and head out the door, as long as we feel we look good, won't matter if it's a brand new foundation or not and you've saved money!

I am also always a light medium neutral too. The 7.5 looks the best on you! It's also the one in my cart so this is super helpful! I trying to decide between the lancome and hourglass, maybe do a comparison 🤔 love your reviews!

I love how quick you are with the releases. I just received the Hourglass and Lancome and didn't do great on shade selection and I'm a LIGHT MEDIUM as well. Usually I can go for warm or neutral depending. I got 5.5 ..too light! I never had issues before picking online. Ic tried it anyway and love the finish. I do see a bit of the ambient glow they are referring to with this on you. I do think the 6.5 is brighter but the 7.5 matches better. 🤔
Thank you so much, Lynn! I think it’s getting harder to choose our shades online because things are so nuanced now with so many shades. It kind of used to be that you just took a stab at one and did the best you could but now those little differences in between shades really end up taking their toll. I am so appreciative of your opinion and I’m terribly sorry that you have had such trouble with your shade choices.

Both sides look good. My preference is 6.5 just because it brightens your face. However you can wear 7.5 for summer and 6.5 during the other seasons. 💕

You know what, Persia? I actually think the light weight feel and wearability here would be GREAT for tropical weather. I think it would be in its glory actually! So not all that bad with this one!!!
Hi Rebecca. I liked the 6.5 better. I felt the 7.5 started to go a little orange. The 6.5 side looked cleaner, clearer and brighter to me and cancelled out redness, which I could still see on the 7.5 side. I live in Australia, where we don't see new releases at the same time as the USA. So, by the time these foundations reach our shores, I will be armed with all of these helpful reviews. Hello Sara! Thank you for your lovely comment. You are right. There is some benefit to getting the make up a little bit later. You definitely know what to get and what not to get. I agree with you that the 6.5 cancels out redness more. And I am all about canceling out redness! Ha ha!

I think I know exactly what you mean Rebecca, I think I have the same skin type as yourself some of these foundations listed as natural matte almost seem matte with fine shimmer particles to give a pretty look on perfect skin but on texture there's no hydration to smooth over pores. Thank you for your review both sides look great on camera, we prob can't see the yellow it just brightens lol.

Thanks for your honest review. At 6.5 you can add your bronzer. Then when your skin is lighter it will still work. But oh how I have got the colour match wrong on a certain website

You liked the Lancôme better. I tend to use my Lancôme more than my Hourglass foundations, not sure why. But both have that serum look to them. Yesterday I used the Lisa Eldridge Foundation (that I find very drying) with the Ilia Serum and mixed together they were beautiful. I also like the L’Oreal Serum Foundation, so I’m anxious to try these . . . Although, I could just mix serum into ones I have and they give me the exact same look! Also, vis a vis the Hourglass colors leaning yellow, I always order the pink/cool toned colors, so maybe that would be better.

Yes indedeeee 7.5 is the winner on screen. Looks lovely & natural but I'm not convinced it's worth picking up. Hourglass in general don't do a great foundation & I prefer one that smooths the pores & lines at 55. Lancome foundation might be the one when we get in Aus. As always thanks for the early review. Greatly appreciated. 😘

I prefer the 6.5 shade, like some other commenters said, it looks all out together once you apply the rest of your makeup.
But my preference is always go a tad bit lighter on foundation as you can bronze up and still have that “brightening” effect on certain areas of the face.

I always found Hourglass foundations run yellow. That said the, 7.5 in natural light looked a little dark. The 6.5 is more yellow but I think it’s a better match. Honestly, I’m not fond of either. Boy that was a big help. I will say the 6.5 appears brighter. I agree the Lancome was prettier. If I were to pick, I’d pass Hourglass and go with Lancome. Jan, totally agree. Thought it was just me seeing that. Outside the 7.5 was noticeably too dark. Perhaps this could be camouflaged with a light colored powder blended at the jaw line. I don't think you could get away with a casual makeup look with the 6.5. You would have to do the whole face. The 7.5 could go with a blush, lips and mascara except if you were spending time in natural light you'd have to blend the color more at the jaw/neck.
I think 6.5 looks better and brighter on you. I got 5.5 and the undertone it’s a tad too orange for me, so I will go to the store and check shade 6 or 6.5 and hopefully I will find a better shade match fingers crossed!

I think 6.5 look good on you. What do you think about Lisa Eldridge foundation and this hourglass? both are expensive and I want to buy one. I guess Lisa might be matte and long lasting than hourglass.
I find the LE drying and the bottle clumsy. I think they are similar in formula but I admit that I prefer the HG. ❤️
Well, I definitely prefer the 6.5 on your face... so the side that is nearest the cute little pink typewriter behind you - THAT shade to me looks best; more natural on you to my eyes :)
But I too preferred the Lancome and the Dior powder foundations overall... still, there are BOUND to be even more around the corner, right! 😁

7.5 for sure. I love HG powders because they don’t break me out. I was excited to see this foundation. I looked on the website for the ingredient list. I hate that they don’t publish it, so I emailed customer service. First they emailed back and asked what current foundation shade I wear. I replied that I wasn’t asking for a color match just an ingredient list. I received a second email with a link to their website. I replied that I know they are cruelty free but I needed an ingredient list to check for oils and coconut derivatives. They finally replied and said they would have to check with their product team. I also explained that I didn’t want to waste their product by returning the foundation because it broke me out so I wanted to see the ingredient deck. Still nothing! I’m so glad you reviewed this foundation. I won’t take a chance and order it. I didn’t try the new Lancome foundation because I’ve seen the ingredient deck same with the Dior powder foundation. I was hoping the HG foundation would be a good one to try. I’ll stick with the Lisa Eldridge foundation. It only slightly breaks me out if I wear it several days in a row. The foundation hunt for sensitive skin users is SO frustrating! Also, I’m cool toned, so if HG foundations run yellow that is another strike. Thanks for reviewing this foundation. Love your channel!
Hello Tonya. WHAT? The CS team has to check with product development for allergen info????? That's honestly ridiculous. Yeah and then you said you run cool. I'm like, "No, Tonya, stay away." I think the key is rotation. I break out, too, when I wear something days on end each day!
Check Sephora, they list the ingredients for this product. That's ridiculous Hourglass couldn't provide you this information for their own product.

Please pardon me if I missed this in the video … I did watch it all … if I were to want to get one between the NARS light reflecting foundation (the one that has a lot of skin care in it) or the new Hourglass foundation which would you recommend? I have combo sensitive skin.

Yay! The confetti 🎉! Wow, this is a tough one. I think the 7.5 but I do see how mixing it with the 6.5 would work too. Way too much work. I also think that hourglass pulls yellow but the 6.5 seemed to blend into your skin as well. I was gifted a pr box but I have not tried the foundation yet. I’ll start with the 7.5 as I think we are the same skin color. I am just loving the new Lancôme which I tried for the first time yesterday. It has such a nice finish. I’m using it again today but in the 330 shade. There is just something so nice about this new Lancôme. I almost don’t want to try the hourglass. Keep us posted on your foundation endeavors :)

@@NotFitforPrintBeauty I made sure I’m here to comment. Ok. I finally tried this today. I used the 7.5. I’ll get right to the point. I ended up washing it off after less than 2 hours ! I cannot remember a time that I just washed my face and started over! I’m busy, I have things to do. 🤷🏼♀️. So… I put this on around 7 am. I thought it looked horrible but I figured I give it a try. Maybe let it sink into my skin. I even sprayed it with SK-II after I applied it. It looked soooo make-upy. It was definitely medium coverage and it seemed to just sit on my skin. As if I could see my skin under it but there was a matte cast over it. I also thought it accentuated the pores on my cheeks. Pores I had never even really paid attention too. Anyway , I walked the dogs with a few of my children and then ran 3.5 miles. I came home and my face looked horrible ! It’s only in the low 70’s here today. It’s warm for the beach with just hints of sunshine. Good Lord, it looked like a layer of gross matte makeup resting on dewy skin. It’s so hard for me to explain. I have never had makeup look this bad before. Some may say , Why do you wear makeup while running ? Well, I alway do :) so I know what makeup works and what does not. This is a big No for me. There are so many other foundations to use so why use something that doesn’t work for my face. I work my 24 hr shift tomorrow and I’ll use the Lancôme in 330 this time.

I don't want the foundation but I'll take the hot weather and palm trees. Trade ya? 😂 And oh geeze...if their Neutrals are that yellow I can only imagine their cool shades. I'm still loving Wayne's foundation, Tarte Shape Tape Cloud and Hydroflex, and EL DW Sheer. Those are my top favs with the Danessa Myricks Blur Balm. I really need to use up the 15 foundations I have first lol But I think I'd eventually want to try the Lancome over this one? I'm ready for a good Matte foundation. So many have been glowy which I do love, but I like to have both bc I have both oily and dehydrated skin. Oh, I liked your right side better, agree less yellow

Ahhh I have the same problem choosing the shade on Sephora website, too! I’m light medium warm undertone, so I could choose 6 or 7. But I’m so confused! I can’t really see the different based on the description 🥴 I would probably have to go to the store and try to figure out which shade to get. I kind of like 6.5 on the camera on you. Getting a match in this is hard, I just took a chance based of nothing in aus and ordered after a couple reviews. I think swatch a line of both shades alongside down face and down onto neck, wait until it’s settled after awhile, the shade best suited blended to neck… that’s the one 😘 if none definitely swap when in store ❤️ on camera I like the 6.5 visually as it made you look more bright but I’d still go with the neck blend off camera. X

Foundation foundation foundation 🤣. I’ve been waiting for this. Mix them. That’s what I do. Not because of shades but mostly because of formula. Thicker with thinner etc so don’t waste them or at least I try. ❤️💋

I so appreciate this review! Thank you! There are more than 2 light medium with neutral undertones (at least 3) and it is so, so confusing! Shade 8 is also described as light medium with neutral undertones so that might be a thought if you don’t like either of these or trying shade 7 and meeting in the middle :) Out of these 2, I think 7.5 is better for you. 6.5 looked a tad too light when you were applying it and yes, yellow leaning! Hello Jordan! Oh exactly. They are no help at all with shade choice. I feel like something is still off and I would like to go in store and be matched and I bet they put me in the cool shades to try to get rid of the yellow.

I like the 6.5 on camera and in the warm sun. I agree tho if it's just "fine" it's probably not worth the buy.
It's a toss up, Nikole, because I kept really liking it at a distance but I wasn't in love up close. Almost like I'd choose it if I were having some photos done. But I don't usually have photos done. haha.
Great video Posh. Ok....so, just the foundation on I preferred 7.5, BUT when with other make up the 6.5 looked great!!! Work that out. In my own case, I ordered No 4 & 5. No.5 (light with neutral undertones was very yellow on me) but the No.4 with warm undertones was more neutral than the 5 and it's perfect. This foundation picking malarky online is a nightmare and I thought all the Hourglass models had very olive looking skin anyway! My own wear tests with a half and half face I found they both settled fine and then in the end, both looked fine, said my husband to be....but then what does a man who doesn't wear foundation know!!! Ha ha. Onwards and upwards with the foundation fight. I think both you picked are too dark to be honest, so if you can, get in a store and get matched???? Easier said than done. You continue to be amazingly posh though. Loves ya. xxxx

I like 7.5, but I don't think 6.5 is bad either. It is quite brightening to your under eye area! I think it looks great on you, and I don't notice your pores or imperfections on screen. It's hard to really see that stuff unless you're in person though. I ordered 3N and it's out for delivery today. I'm a cool/neutral, and the cool shades looked orange to me online. I have a lot of redness also, so a neutral sometimes works better. I'm praying it's not yellow like the 6.5 neutral. It's crazy that both of your shades are neutral and have such different undertones.
AGREED Jessica. AND AND AND they are both described simply as light medium neutral. OK, please weigh in if you have time after yours arrives.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty I just got it and tried it. 3N is YELLOW, just like the 6.5N. It's also a bit too light for me because I've gotten some sun recently working outside. I'm gonna try the 4.5 cool, fingers crossed it isn't orange. I'll come back and comment once it gets here. For reference, I'm NW20, 2C3 in Double Wear, #7 in Lisa Eldridge 🙂
6.5 looks better, it looks a bit yellow when you first applied it however it also look brighter.
I noted that too, Amanda. It's not that it oxidizes BUT as it sits, it brightens. Like the opposite of oxidizing, really.

I think the 7.5 matches you better in terms of undertones, agreed the 6.5 looked very yellow. It's so hard to determine when buying online. I had also heard before buying that Hourglass foundation shades tend to run yellow, so I purposefully ordered 3 (fair neutral) because I have warm-to-neutral yellow undertones. It has turned out to be a perfect match, like probably one of my best ever matches, and definitely leaning yellow! I think if I ordered a warm shade it would be way too yellow/golden. Maybe their "cool toned" shades lean more properly neutral?
I am loving it so far though. It feels extremely lightweight and gives a lovely natural glow. I also love that it's unscented as perfumes are a migraine trigger for me. I have normal-to-dry skin and it just makes me look really healthy!
I also ordered 3N and I'm a proper cool/neutral. I have heard they run orangey, and 2.5C definitely looked orange to me. If 3N doesn't work, I'm going to try 4.5C. Fingers crossed- it's out for delivery today🤞

Hello Anne! I really love some of those Tarte complexion products for the kind of tinted moisturizer light coverage look. And not too expensive either. It’s now starting be a tie between 7.5 and 6.5 with this foundation and I’m still not sure if I love it. It’s better with a primer.
6.5 is definitely more yellow and 7.5 melds with your skin color better and I think they both look pretty on you. The 6.5 seems to bring a brightness to your face. There is not a clear choice in my mind based on what I can see on camera. But if this highlights pores you don’t normally have maybe it’s just a no go?

I think the 6.5 brightens your skin but the 7.5 blends better. If you see pores after a few hours, move on! It’s not right for you if it settles in the pores and you have a face of polka dots by lunch time.

Hmmmmmm. Imo, I think the 7.5 matches you better, looks more natural, less yellow, although the 6.5 doesn’t look too yellow on you. I have seen other reviews in this foundation, and this foundation looks to pull yellow. In the dead of winter, the 6.5 would be perfect. And, you can mix them! But, if your wearing sleeveless tops in this hot summer, I think it’s the 7.5 would definitely be better. I’m a light medium too, but my body, try as I do, with extremely high spfs, even just walking out the door, is tanner than my face. I would definitely have to go in store to get match, and try to nab a sample, to make sure it’s not drying or cakey on me. I have dry skin More normal, dry now. Looks great on you though. Oh boy, I have invisible pores, but that new CT foundation brought out my pores somehow. Glad it was samples.
Hello Janice! As much as I love Charlotte Tilbury, and you know I love her, I never am a huge fan of her complexion products. And, hourglass complexion products, as you know, pull yellow. I am much more impressed with things like the new Lancome or even the Nars

I’ll have to see in person. For me, the best undertones and foundation, so far is Chanel. I’m using the Sublimage, the one with the pump. They discontinued their Vitalumiere one, I used to use that, it was also great. I haven’t been able to get a sample of the #1 foundation to see if it would be good for my skin type. On casual days I wear Alastin mineral sunscreen, it’s a great tint! It’s like a really nice tinted moisturizer with body to it. Really impressed with this one. And has spf 36 in it I’ll try the hourglass in store

@@NotFitforPrintBeauty I was able to get a sample of the new Hourglass foundation. Shade 8 is perfect on me, not yellow at all. It’s really nice, but need to try another time or 2, to make sure it’s not too drying. Right now, the Chanel is still my fav., for shades, and texture.
I always find it hard to tell on cameral what the colours are exactly. I didn't see yellow, but perhaps if swatched side by side on your hand I could see the lighter 6.5 being yellow in comparison to 7.5. I might be in the minority but the 6.5 looked brighter and made you look more awake. The 7.5 didn't match your neck, however when bronzed there wasn't much difference between sides. No one would know it was 2 different shades. I don't know if I've been helpful at all. Keep the one YOU like on you best Rebecca. Have a great day.

It’s pretty but jeez, I don’t need another foundation. I’m still on the sideline with Hourglass face products. I love their powder products but not sure about their foundations. The foundation really warms up your skin and I think it looks pretty.
