Why do I fish? Well, after several years of not fishing due to laziness I discovered this guy named John on UA-cam that enjoyed fishing so much he inspired me to get back to the water.
I kind of have the same story. I basically got busy and lazy and stopped fishing. I saw CFA videos and Ty Pig Patrol on UA-cam and started again. Now I have a 11yr old fishing buddy (my daughter).
Catching big fish is nice, but when that is the only thing you care about you really miss out. I fish because it’s one of the few things I do where I can forget about work and all the other stresses of life. I enjoy all types of fishing. Saltwater, freshwater, fly fishing, live bait fishing, big fish, little fish it doesn’t matter. No matter what it’s relaxing. I never have a bad day fishing. Love your videos! Thanks for posting!!
Love these videos man, I really respect the fact that you stand up for what you believe in as a Christian. You have inspired me to fish more this year, I have tripled the amount of fish I have caught the year by following you and paying attention to where you are successful. If your ever in Texas I would love an opportunity to fish with you.. Keep the awesome videos going and God bless.
One of my favorite fishing channels. Keep on brother. I fish to forget this crazy ass world we are witnessing. To me it's a chance to behold the lord's creation and give thanks. It truly re centers my soul.
Why I go fishing...thanks for asking. I love to fish, watching the line go out when you get a fish is SOOOOO exciting!!! Also watching the bobber bob up and down gives me such a thrill!!! AND Watching your videos, makes me want to go every day. Wal Mart is very happy you film your videos also, every week when I go shopping I now go to the fishing department and get new lures and other items. Again thank you for your videos. And what you said...It's not the size of the fish, it's just catching fish that's so fun.
You know how , sometimes, you can't turn off all those thoughts about all the stuff you've gotta do or places you gotta go? All that goes away while I'm fishing. Peace and quiet and time to enjoy some beautiful places. Such a blessing!
When I was a teenager growing up in northeast Arkansas the drainage ditches that were cut about one mile apart and running north and south around the small town of Caraway were loaded and I mean loaded with bream, goggle eye (war mouth), catfish, bass, crappie, and sun fish. The farmers and the Corp of Engineers drained all of the water now and the ditches that used to run with clear running water 4 to 8 feet deep now are bone dry. I grew up having this kind of fun....great memories.
@@charlespettit2869 Trent Lamb here... my dad was the Agri teacher at Caraway and Riverside for years and years. I graduated from Riverside in 86. I grew up fishing, and what you do reminds me of what I did as a kid. There was not a creek in Mobile, Alabama that we didn’t explore . Now, I’m 68 and don’t do as much fishing as I would like, but I still love all types of fishing and spearfishing in the Gulf. I love to eat fish as well. We were poor growing up, and so we ate everything we caught. I’ll never forget cane-pole fishing on the bank of a river next to a sweet old Black lady. She caught a tiny little sunfish and threw it in her bucket. I was about 8 or 9 and asked her why she was keeping that little fish, and she replied, “Honey, it’s bigger than a bean, ain’t it?” That was 60 years ago, and I still remember it, and still quote her. I hope she’s in heaven and we can meet again someday. Fishing, diving and the water have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.
I started fishing when I was 5, my Grandfather got me started. I’m 65 now and I’m still fishing. The biggest reason is that it’s relaxing and I love to be outdoors. Once I started following you, I started scoping out all the small creeks in my area. Most are fruitless, but nature can be enjoyed even when you don’t catch any fish. I always tell my wife: “It’s not just about catching fish.” I can assure you that the creeks here in NJ are nothing like what you have in TN! God bless, John, and keep up the great videos!
I thank God he is the way the truth and the life I thank him for his mercy and grace for the joy that was before him he endured the cross for all of us so we could make it to heaven God bless you and your ministry
I love nature, and it reminds me that life is so much more than all the crap and garbage going on in this world ran by lunatics. That is why I love it, I just don't do it enough. You have inspired me with your work, please don't stop.
Please don't stop making videos Brother! I find you honest modest relatable informed and Christan! Really enjoy watching and learning. Had not fished in over 20 years. Got me off the bench Thanks Again!! God Bless!!!
I go fishing to get away from everyday stress and to clear my head. I just started creek fishing this year. I haven't done that since the 80's. There's serenity for me when it comes to fishing.
I fish to get away from the world, to concentrate on one thing only. It clears my mind. There are very few people I enjoy fishing with, but the ones I do fish with are all about fishing that day. Love your videos, they are a break for me without even getting a hook wet. You are a fisherman and a fisher of men! Please keep it up as long as you enjoy it; you bring peace to this crazy world.
You're living my dream, don't stop !!! It's been fun watching your videos. With 66K subscribers, you're doing something right for many people. Thank you.
I just recently got back into fishing. Used to go a lot when I was in my teen, with my dad camping. Now I’m 52 and just had a real craving to get to fishing. I love the challenge of finding what bait will work, what kind of fish I’ll catch. Love the feeling of a fish on the line, the “ fight” of the fish!
Bob Gibbs also commented correctly. When I started watching you fish and the enjoyment you get out of it, the relaxation of being outside. Just really beckoned to me.🙌🏼🙌🏼
Whether it's out ripping giant smallies in nearly untouched rivers or tossing micro lures for beautiful sunfish, the videos are great. I'm glad you enjoy what you do so that we can enjoy what you do. Edit: The reasons I fish: I'm not sure why I love fishing so much. Ever since I was a little kid I have loved animals and catching things and for as long as I can remember I've enjoyed fishing. I'd ride my bike to the lake when I was young and try to get there before the sun rose. As an adult it's multiple things: I enjoy the thrill of always trying to improve and consistently catch more and bigger fish. I love exploring new areas and learning new techniques. I enjoy loading my videos to UA-cam even. But I think primarily it's that even when I'm feeling that pressure you were talking about, I'm still that little kid getting away from it all, forgetting the worries of the world and being an adult, getting out in nature and just being at peace with myself doing one of the things I've loved my whole life.
That’s the reason your show is so special to me John! It’s not big fish! It’s out there fishing for what bites and catching something different from time to time! Like a 2lb. Bass from a small creek! And FAITH IN THE LORD!
Why do I like to fish? I just always have. When I was real young, my grandpa taught me to fish in one of his farm ponds with a cane pole. Within seconds, I caught a small bluegill and I was the one who was hooked! A few years later, while fishing on the Gasconade River in Mo., a man taught me to use a spin caster. He also taught me one of the most important things that I've learned about fishing. He said that, "You should expect to catch a fish on every cast." Well, I still expect it and that still keeps it exciting to me! Even more than fifty years later! Thanks for your cool videos! I really like your scriptures at the end! May God always be with you and your family! Bill
I fish to relax, get outdoors and away from my job as an IT Administrator. I just disconnect, turn my phone off, and listen to nature. I know you all are going to say that i work too hard. I enjoy watching these videos for the tips and gear that you use. Great Job!
I fish for the following reasons: My dad is elderly but we still go fishing and bond. I love fish, I enjoy each specie. I'm competitive, fishing is like basketball. Everytime out its different. you have good days and not as productive days. But you try to get better each time out! Everyday I look forward to your videos, please keep up the good work!
Having fun fishing is the key, no sense in doing something if you’re not going to enjoy it and I completely agree that the Bible is true . I thank you for sharing your testimony John !
I love fishing for the relaxation and the anticipation of catching a fish. I love watching your videos because you fish creeks and rivers. In Hawaii we typically fish from shore. I also enjoy the scriptures at the end.
I love to fish because I grew up doing it and my best childhood memories are fishing. I can relax get out in nature. It clears my mind from the real world and puts a huge smile on my face when I think back to my grandma and grandpa taking me fishing and investing so much time in me to make me a better person. Lots of life lessons learned on a river bank for me.
Ah a fellow lover of the hidden gem. The trout magnet. I love those little things, honestly there so easy and fun to fish with if your in the right place. Great video man, keep it up!
I love fishing for the same reason I love hunting... its like a treasure hunt. I have a vivid imagination and I love to envision that big bass or big buck lurking around the next bend or hiding behind that stump and when I connect on that bass or buck, its an incredible experience. However, i love the peacefulness of the outdoors and I am in constant awe of the beauty of Gods wonderful creation. Another great video John!
I love fishing because my dad got me started when I was like 5 yrs old (1964) that is the earliest I remember. Cane pole and bobber we caught a ton of blue gill by this drain pipe ( I can still picture it). I was hooked (ha! Ha). He took me a lot growing up in Missouri. We bonded so much fishing and hunting. I ve taught my kids and grandchildren. It s truly a gift from God. I like your videos because I see you and it s exactly what I ve done in many ways but on a smaller scale. I like your stand for Christ. Keep doing what you're doing.
The main reason I love fishing is mainly because you don't always no what you're gonna catch. You could hook into a little green sunfish or a 1 pound largie.
"Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after." Henry David Thoreau When I read this quote the first time I realized how true it really is. I think most of us just like to be out in nature enjoying everything it offers.
I grew up fishing with my dad and I have always taken my own girls, nieces and nephews fishing and I plan on taking my grandkids one day. I go by myself sometimes, and I love catching fish, but it's more about the relationships and memories for me. Btw, Romans 8:28 (that was at the end of the video today) is one of my favorite scriptures. I've been through a lot, personally and physically, in the last 10 years, but this verse keeps me going. Be blessed!
Catching the really nice looking fish in the creeks, in so great. John you have the greatest fishing videos and I enjoy your fishing adventures . Thank you for most wonderful videos. 😊
I go fishing to social distance myself from everyday issues. I can go out in our beautiful countryside and find a place to just sit and wait for fish to bite. I don't have to catch giant fish, I have gone fishing many times and have been skunked. I just love being in the outdoors and enjoy the beauty of our world. It doesn't get any better than that. Fish on!
I go to church to learn, for fellowship and to join in worship. I fish because that's when I get closest to God.....fishing and nature all by myself. I love your channel and the message you share. Thank you!
I love spots like that . Most people pass right by and never even think about fishing . I'm so glad they do , I'm not selfish but so many folks just keep everything they catch . Don't take long to fish it out , catch and release please , especially in ponds and creeks . Another great video !
Thank you John for the words you spoke at the end of this video. I always remember that God's in control. Another great video with no high expectations just catching some fish. May God continue to bless you and your channel.
I have been fishing from 3 years old, from the time my grandfather taught me, I have always loved it, and I am more relaxed and at peace with nature 🎏😀😃
I spent years and years fishing and catching lots and lots of fish. I haven't caught a single fish this year....and I've been a bunch of times. So I guess I'm done and I live vicariously through your fishing expeditions. I also like that you give Credit to God...where it is always due. So I like supporting your channel and your dream.
Fishing is my therapy- fishing and playing drums are the only two things I do that I can focus solely on. My brain jumps around a lot, and it’s nice to shut it off and focus.
You continue to bless me with your faith and I love your videos. I fished a lot when l was young. I lost my brother in January then my son in February this year. I started back fishing to clear my thoughts and spend some quiet time with the Lord and his creation.
Fishing to me is one the most awarding thing you can do for yourself and others. It is one of the true things that brings all kinds of people together regardless of age or color. It also allows for you tell those stories of the one that got away or you should of seen the size of that one!
I fish creeks to get out and see nature were its quiet with just me and the fish I've been fishing my whole life and it is the one thing I love to do. Keep fishing you can't get tired of it when you are having fun and you have amazing creeks to fish in!!
I like fishing because it refreshes my mind, it's relaxing and enjoyable, and I do it for fun, which is catch and release... nice video sir... Good bless you
I fish because their is nothing better than being out in nature its the most peaceful thing on earth to me ..and the adrenaline rush of catching a fish one after another. im addicted to fishing. God bless you john you have the best job ever
You don't have to explain why you like to fish, it's what it means to you that's important. Its fun to watch your excitement & it brings back memories. I use to live on the Weeki Wachee River, go to the bait store @ 7 am, come home, walk 10 feet out my door to the dock & fish on! There was alot of mangrove snapper & largemouth bass. It was 2 canals from the Gulf so it was freshwater. It was a perfect way to start the day.
I'm new to your videos and your faith is a big reason I follow you Thanks to you I went fishing for the first time in 5 years When I was young I would fish small creeks but would use live bait with no luck Now my plans are to go get the baits you use and try my luck THANK YOU
Another great video. I grew up in Missouri with my dad taking me wade fishing a lot, to be honest that is probably my favorite way to fish. I haven't found many wading spots around here(Northwest GA like we had back home, you are helping me to find a few spots so kudos to you, thanks.
I like to fish to unwind and relax from the everyday stresses that life throws at me. It's great to get out and interact with other fisherman too, esp during this pandemic.
Ever since I started fishing in my late teen years, I knew it was one of the greatest activities I could pursue. I have always enjoyed the encounters with wild things, whether it be fishing for catfish or bass, or hunting for rabbits or deer. It's not the kill I enjoy.....it's the encounter. The encounter with a nice channel cat is way more exciting than filleting it, even though it's part of it if you want to eat it. Interesting video that really makes you wonder.
Great videos brother great attitude I'm glad I found you on here I have seven kids and started having siezures 10 years ago so I dont get out much anymore so it's nice to have relaxing videos like this thank you for doing what you do the way you do it👍
I like going fishing because, well it's a sport second to none.... Also because i feel alive when I'm out there exploring and catching fish and trying new things. Being in nature and engaging with it through fishing and camping is just a way I like to spend time.
I agree with Bob. John you and others inspired me to pick the rod and reel back up and head to the waters. I also have set goals for myself to catch every fresh water citation fish in Virginia. There’s like 29 different citations to earn. Could take a lifetime to accomplish, but I’m enjoying the adventure. Oh, I did manage to catch my first citation fish. A black crappie at 18” and 2.7 pounds. Thanks for the vids John.
I love fishing bcuz it helped me create many everlasting moments with my kids and even though there older it's cool for them reminiscing about those times
Awesome Testimony! You are doing more than supplying entertaining videos, you are witnessing for the Lord; that my brother is a far better vocation than "Heating & Air Conditioning", albeit you can serve the Lord no matter what you do. God Bless and keep "Creek Fishing" and being a "Fisher of Men".
Amen. Thank you for your testimony. My daughter and I really enjoy your channel. I think I will be making a trip up to VA in the near future to take my daughter wading for the first time. She really wants to catch a small mouth bass. We caught large mouth, spotted, and striped bass but not small mouth bass yet.
My reasons for fishing in my younger years were that my grandfather got me into lt. He was a very grumpy man who mostly yelled and wanted to be left alone but he wanted a fishing partner and we were best friends when we went fishing. I'm from Kansas and so was he so back there back then we did a lot of catfishing in the rivers. Just fishing on bottom with Chicken livers. He was an engineer for Union Pacific and they would park the trains over rivers and fish from the bridges sometimes. He drove the trains. My last fishing trip with him was one month before he died and I had to jump into a lake to wrestle in a 30 pound carp. He was so excited and it was a great memory. I've had LUPUS and Sjogrens for a few years and I'm too sick to do much fishing any more and if I do, it's in colder weather. I lived in Maine for a few years and fell in love with trout fishing. As a teenager once we moved to Kentucky i fell in love with Creek fishing due to a creek in our back yard. I'd put a bit of bacon on the hook and catch small fish all day long. And huge turtles. I watch your channel because you creek fish but quite frankly your great at mixing things up, your probably just the best all around fisherman of all the channels I've seen and it's just the way you present. It just clicks well for me. The only other semi fishing channel I watch as much as yours is Cole and Jay and they are about 50% fishing and 50% Herpetology. I hope you don't quit making videos. You are the best out there and your base is going to keep growing. And the more it grows the more money you will make. Cole and Jay have bought a nice house and property on a lake they are making so much. Your on your way. As I have said before, since I can't do what your doing anymore, watching your channel is the next best thing. I enjoy it.
I know this is an older video, but....I fish for the beauty all around. Catching and interacting with different species of fish, but also all the critters, birds, the water and the land all around. I can look and see the Lord's hand, and His blessing on me. I video it because I want everyone else to get out and enjoy what He has made, and see His hand at work as well. BTW, I'm the guy that recently emailed you about the Vengeance rod. Thank you for taking the time to reply to me. It is much appreciated, Brother.
Man, why do I like fishing. I could probably make a 10 min video talking about why haha. But the short version, its a blast, being a Christian myself being out in his creation makes me feel closer to Him, I like creating memories with my family with a hobby we can enjoy together. We will go with those three for now. Love you vids and love your testimony!
I just like being outdoors and enjoying nature. I also do some small game hunting when its to cold to fish for the same reason. I enjoy your channel and keep up the faith.
John what a blessing it is to my life to be able to see the beauty that God has created for us to enjoy. Also seeing God in nature and how all life depends on another. I enjoy fishing for the aforementioned reasons, but also the relaxing atmosphere and able to meet others and have a platform to share about Gods love for us and sending his only son to be a sacrifice and atonement for our sin. I enjoy seeing God in nature and the challenge of catching a good fish,it's relaxing and uplifting
Amen Brotha! Great minds think alike! My favorite type of fishing is targeting waters that most overlook and targeting Multi-species! This is why I subscribed :)

But I think primarily it's that even when I'm feeling that pressure you were talking about, I'm still that little kid getting away from it all, forgetting the worries of the world and being an adult, getting out in nature and just being at peace with myself doing one of the things I've loved my whole life.
thanks for the comments
That’s the reason your show is so special to me John! It’s not big fish! It’s out there fishing for what bites and catching something different from time to time! Like a 2lb. Bass from a small creek! And FAITH IN THE LORD!
species jackpot! i wish i had a spot like that when i was trapping for my aquarium. small water fishing is the best.
He said that, "You should expect to catch a fish on every cast."
Well, I still expect it and that still keeps it exciting to me! Even more than fifty years later!
Thanks for your cool videos!
I really like your scriptures at the end!
May God always be with you and your family! Bill
I find it calming to listen to the sounds of moving water, catching fish is just a bonus
Thank you for the word John . I watch you for your testimony first , and your fishing second . Stay strong in the Lord !!
I fish to relax, get outdoors and away from my job as an IT Administrator. I just disconnect, turn my phone off, and listen to nature. I know you all are going to say that i work too hard. I enjoy watching these videos for the tips and gear that you use. Great Job!
I fish because it's relaxing and a great way to decompress from the everyday stresses.
I fish for the following reasons:
My dad is elderly but we still go fishing and bond.
Me and my boyfriend have watching you since you had 5 followers
WOW, Thats dedication
@@CreekFishingAdventures You are amazing youruber
For me, it is the thrill of the catch, that life tugging back. I don't really care to keep them. Stay as you are John.
I love fishing, it's a part of my soul. I like to build fishing lures, and tie flies, and I am very often testing out and trying new things I make.
The raw beauty of nature, and the feeling of a big fish on the line!
I really appreciate watching the fishing vids you make. It brings a smile to my face.
I love the sound of a fish slapping the water when it's thrown back!
Don't stop buddy really enjoy watching and the scriptures at the end
The main reason I love fishing is mainly because you don't always no what you're gonna catch. You could hook into a little green sunfish or a 1 pound largie.
Yup, a dude caught a Sturgeon in my neck of the woods an a small river the other day.
"Many men go fishing all of their
lives without knowing that it
is not fish they are after."
Henry David Thoreau
When I read this quote the first time I realized how true it really is.
Be blessed!
I am 67 and have been omg since I was 4. I love fishing because it gets me out in nature where I feel closest to God.
Thank you!
Appreciate you! Much love from Ky.
Much appreciated
I love it when you get excited when you catch something, you make my day thank you
You continue to bless me with your faith and I love your videos.
Good bless you
Fishing is being in the wilderness and you get to see the spendorous of the nature.... Plus it allows one to be at peace with all!!!!!
I'm new to your videos and your faith is a big reason I follow you
Thanks to you I went fishing for the first time in 5 years
When I was young I would fish small creeks but would use live bait with no luck
Now my plans are to go get the baits you use and try my luck
THANK YOU
Another great video.
Fishing for me is my Zen , I find myself in deep thought when I'm on the water . Plus it's just plain fun , always a good time !
Creek fishing is just relaxing to watch.
I really like the peaceful times that I can get in the woods and rivers.
Enjoy it because its relaxing and good to get out of the house love bass,bluegill/warmouth and catching catfish
Amen brother. Thanks for sharing your adventures and your faith. And thanks for keeping it simple
I enjoy it.
Enjoyed your fishing video.Keep making them.
You inspire me to go back fishing!....bought a light gear I'm going to try creek fishing! Thanks for your videos!
Just make sure when you fish, you take a video and post it right away, everyday lol. 'Love your channel. Keep fishing!
Keep doing what you do..... We appreciate all you do.
I have only caught one of these in my life here in Wisconsin. Absolutely beautiful fish.
Another great video john!👍👍 fishing for me so relaxing and being near the water and hearing the water in the creek running recharges my batteries!!
I also have read a lot of books that have a lot of information on fishing over the years. The learning part of fishing never stops.
Love this kinda video. Any fish bite makes me a happy 10 year old kid again.
I Love what you do! So keep doing what you are doing! You are an inspiration!!
Great video buddy. I love the small creek fishing as well.
Amen Brotha! Great minds think alike! My favorite type of fishing is targeting waters that most overlook and targeting Multi-species! This is why I subscribed :)
I’ve never really gotten into fishing, but I enjoy watching you having fun fishing. Bible verses and the end made for a quick subscribe.
Love to watch your videos, I love to take my brother fishing, he had a bad stroke 2 years ago and getting around better now, You dont know what u miss till it's almost gone forever. Wishing u good fishing this year, Peace from N.C.
