With Christ present in the Eucharist I was able to get out of many sins. Porn addicton ..heroin addiction...cocaine addiction. and a gambling addiction
I am now retired, and one day the priest at my church called for teachers at our Sunday School and I volunteered ❤ no looking back I have never been more happier than to be with these kids teaching them to love Jesus!!
I love ❤️ the video remember the most important part of preaching is loading ourselves with the seeds so we can plant - our job as sewers is to know God with the scriptures and when we go out there they need Gods word the Word that is Alive and Tran’s passes the heart ❤️ of any human - like with the Protestant - just a simple “ you are Peter and upon this rock I will build my church ⛪️ “ one ☝️ no many etc just these words will not let them sleep 😴 in peace and ultimately the word will not return without giving its fruits like the passage of Isaiah As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
God Bless you Bishop I have been taking care of my Father for almost 3 years and every bone in my body is aching my entire body hurts for the intense care he requires 17:19 Thanks to your homily I can view my suffering and his in a different way
Good morning Bishop Baron.. I've just followed your channel for just a couple of days and I found it worthwhile listening your words. I'm a parishioner here in the Philippines.. I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon good morning Bishop
An amazing mesage of hope! An answer to fear. A call for courage. And, as Bishop Barron proves, we cannot get there individually. The love of Christ connects, it doesn't separate. Thanks for sharing this most essential sermon!!
POPE BENEDICT XVI: “If in my life I fail completely to heed others, solely out of a desire to be ‘devout’ and to perform my ‘religious duties’, then my relationship with God will also grow arid. It becomes merely ‘proper’, but loveless. Only my readiness to encounter my neighbor and to show him love makes me sensitive to God as well. Only if I serve my neighbor can my eyes be opened to what God does for me and how much he loves me.”
"How much time do we spend with sinners?"...Everyday...for everywhere I go, there I am. Jesus said, "Why do you call me good? No one is good but my Father in heaven." The only perfection I can reach is to give myself over to his love more and more deeply, as I am, and let him love me, knowing it is this love that breaks my heart into whole...my heart now his heart to live through, that now truly knows, "in and of myself, I can do nothing."
How do you know you're a child of God ? It happens at your conversion to Christ Jesus. When the grace of God touches your heart and your soul, you know you're a child of God
When God fills you with His Holy Spirit, you speak in tongues. That is what scripture teaches, that is what happened to the Apostles and that is what happened on the day of Pentecost. Even more importantly, that same experience is happening today all over the world. Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever!
God is everywhere. Romans 2:11 'For God does not show favoritism' 'Matthew 23:10 'And do not call anyone on earth your father, for you have one Father, who is in Heaven.' Matthew 23:10 'And don't let anyone call you, 'Teacher,' for you have only one teacher, the Messiah.'
POPE BENEDICT XVI: “God wants your friendship. And once you enter into friendship with God, everything in your life begins to change. As you come to know him better, you will find you want to reflect something of his infinite goodness in your own life. You become attracted to the practice of virtue. You begin to see greed and selfishness and all the other sins for what they really are, destructive and dangerous tendencies that cause deep suffering and do greater damage, and you want to avoid falling into that trap yourselves. You begin to feel compassion for people in difficulties and you are eager to do something to help them. You want to come to the aid of the poor and the hungry, you want to comfort the sorrowful, you want to be kind and generous. And once these things begin to matter to you, you are well on the way to becoming saints”
@@gladystinah5928 hi I'm not sure why you said wow but usually put things into "bullets" to remember. For me it makes it easier to do. I was summarizing his video the way I understood it 💕 So basically I do understand redemptive suffering and practice it all day. The healing is when I help my daughter and also I pray to help ppl heal. The preaching part is a challenge for me because I am so shy..I need to brainstorm on that one. And finally the befriending of sinners. That one is one that I must contemplate on for a while. Usually I pray for sinners..including myself...but now I think God wants me to do a bit more by speaking to them and reaching out..not easy for me due to severe shyness. It was an excellent video. It was powerful actually .🌹
Well, good advice: "Don't privatize your religion." But what is neglected by the Bishop (and not only him) is how? People need advice and guidance to do this. And the Catholic Church has the tools for "going forth and teaching all nations" in the form of its many apostolic Catholic Action groups. One is the Legion of Mary, which since 1921, has been a leader in Catholic Christian evangelization efforts.
My plumber came today and SOMEHOW we got on the subject of Jesus - and he's been a Baptist for 65 years. He talked about him being a Baptist longer than the leaky pipe repairs were. I never had a chance to speak about me being a cradle Catholic. He didn't care. He didn't want to know anything. I let him babble in my disdain.....
@spinstercatlady No disdain here. The Bishop spoke about letting your Catholic views be known to other people - my comment was that I couldn't get a word in edgewise to the Baptist plumber.
@oneitalia2312 yes, I'm sure that was frustrating 😑 Baptists are known for being long winded 🤣 As a former Baptist, I can remember times when our pastor would get excited during his sermon and sometimes would preach for almost 2 hours!
Given that the Unique ACT of Jesus in instituting the Eucharist is so, so important, why did John leave this incident of extraordinary importance, out of his gospel? This is a great mystery to me. Given that it is not possible to dialogue with Bishop Barron, perhaps the anchor of this channel will bring this to his attention and I will get an email - thank you v much
I don't know U but the 2nd coming of Christ; after all these years of suffering on earth, I think is our judgement day when we see Christ himself doing justice on our soul. Now; if am wrong, which is to me:Who knows!? bc Jewish people keep awaiting, which to me Christ already came to Us, I think, that is the coming of Christ: Once we died. I have never studied the bible and every time I try to read Apocalipsis part, it's hard to interpreted it.
The layman first has to protect his family and himself from the sinners. The call of sinners to repentance ( I don't think I heard this word) weighs primarily on the shoulders of the successors of the Apostles. Of course, lay- people strong in their faith and convictions can contribute in the ways Bishop Barron mentions, for all the good reasons he presents. However, they will need the support and encouragement of their spiritual leaders. All too often, the Bishops' silence on serious issues that beg to be addressed is deafening.
I don´t get this thing about suffering. Okay, I understand that as a Christian there are times when I have to endure persecution. Which means that people attack me one way or the other because i belong to Christ. I get this. That is part of the package if you want to follow Christ. They do to us as they did to him, But I don´t get how other reasons to suffer are any good. Like being sick or having an accident or being the victim of evil people not because of my faith but because of other reasons. I don´t want to suffer from these things! Please explain to me why i should love being in pain and desperation? I cannot remember any scripture that reports Jesus being sick and loving it.
The earliest of humans did not understand illness, death and hunger. They explained it by spirits and gods. Then they developed rituals to appease the spirits/gods. Guess what, rituals/laws dont work. The book of Job tries to make sense of this. Jesus suffered a bad afternoon. Humans suffer decades chronic pain and illness. This is a blood cult, reject it and their stupid book.
@tjseaney_ What does that mean? Jesus suffered because he was rejected. As I already said: This i understand. But it does not comprise suffering that is not caused by resistance against Christ and his mission.
It’s the lense in which you view both as they occur, am I helping to the glory of God? Am I suffering to the glory of God? Are my thoughts when I suffer “God is sanctifying me through this” and thus produce growth? Or Are your thoughts something like “WHY GOD WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME WHY ME?” We can have assurance Christ is in us when we view our lives through lens #1
