I'm just starting to listen to Bishop Barron. I didn't listen much for a long time because just appearance wise he reminded me of some of the well known protestant preachers that cause harm. I did eventually listen, and then listened again, and again. I'm drawn now. I'm listening....
Same here. We both share same feelings about him. I see changes on him, being more Catholic. He let go some smooth talking, I like it! Have you listened to Fathe John Ricardo? From the order ; Fathers of Mercy, most of them are solid teachers on the faith. Not smooth talking, as Father Corapi used to say.
Protestant..."to protest'...follow Christianity all the way back to Jesus. One Holy, Catholic (which means UNIVERSAL) and Apostolic Church (based on the Apostles)...So glad you listened again, and again...I am with you
First, I would say that I find it so refreshing to have open intellectual respectful debate. I love Ben’s questions and I love the thoughtfulness of Bishop Barron’s responses. I love being Catholic.!!!!
Love being catholic? Try Hinduism many, many more gods and many are females As your intellectual heretic, wolf in sheep clothing said there are many ways to get to Heaven So the Christ crucifier Shapiro gets to go to Heaven.
I want to say it!!! oooo!!! Whaaat is a Youth? Impetuous fire! What issa maid? Icen’desire. The world meows! Ben’s sister kow tows! And my weiner isn’t sorry nurny nur.
We have a lot of rules in the Catholic church much like the Jewish faith. But the heart and soul of Catholicism Is not so much rules. It’s the human heart. We attend mass, we know Jesus is there. He told us at the last supper. Love is why we go. Love is God. For he so loved the world, he gave his only son. Pharisees had rules but they didn’t love. Without we are empty vessels.
“Had”? They doubled down since Jesus time and went even more off the rails. They don’t even believe in the Old Testament as history or real people anymore . Synagog of satan.. I pray Ben finds Jesus Christ he could get so many saved
@@johnduffy6546 Kind of! Jesus didn't mess around with words not to offend the Pharisees! But he's getting there. My favorite Priest is Father Corapi, but the evildoers found a way to shut him up. Father Isaac Relyea is another great man, speaks as Saint Paul did. Smooth talk got our churches empty and millions of souls to hell!
I think the point of the Vatican 2 was to say that God can do whatever he wants to do as an exception. Like taking Paul’s free will and converting him on the spot. In theory someone who was never presented with the truth could still be performing the best to their knowledge of the truth that God has imprinted on their hearts and God could show them mercy having not known Jesus Christ. Many interpret the point in the Vatican 2 to directly saying that it was meant to say Protestants can also go to heaven rather than an “only us” mindset from yesteryear. The way the priest said it though, or the if this is truly the way the Vatican 2 wanted it to be said is borderline if not blasphemous. Bed Shapiro has been present with our lord and saviour and has denied him in favor of his Jewish supremacy religion of works and hating our Lord. Ben has no chance of heaven.
Here is a simple but accurate way of looking at it. We are the children of God. His love for us is infinite. He does not look for ways to send us to hell. If we end up in hell it is by our choice, not His. We don’t have to understand why He will bring us to Heaven, just be thankful that He does.
Interior conversion is one thing, public is another. I have to wonder what he would knowingly loose by converting and whether he is able to love God enough to do so. I know Protestants in my extended family who value their friends and self opinions so much they will not threaten it for anything ... including going to the Apostolic Church Fathers and other early documents to clarify truth. I'd like to see Ben have the courage to make the move ... we will see; to do so he would need special grace from God ... and perhaps God needs him to function in a different way.
@@michaelpcooksey5096 there has been researched that about 1 in 5 parishioners don't believe in a god. It is a bit better with priests and Bishops 1 in 10. Very few believe in a personal god. I wouldn't be so worried about some random podcaster; when it is you own family that you may ponder.

What he said about directly or indirectly being saved by Jesus Christ is nothing new. I think Catholics have woken up and are studying the Catholic faith and the beauty of the Church that was founded by Our Lord. It’s beautiful, true and very difficult to dispute. ❤
Agreed. I think the knee jerk reaction against Barron comes from a lack of education on the matter and an unhealthy elitism that is part of human nature unfortunately

@host: To the last comment you made at the end of the video: Let me put it this way: I must admit and recognize that I am a sinner and therefore I'm going to hell, and just as a person drowing in the raging river, I need someone to SAVE me. Jesus is the ONE. By his passion, death and ressurection, he has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life. (this is in the prayer after praying the rosary). He SAVED my life. He is my SAVIOR. Just as the relationship between someone that was stuck in a burning car after rolling it over and that guy that pulled him out and saved him so is my relationship with my Lord and Savior. Even more so. When one realizes this, there begins the RELATIONSHIP. Salvation is through this relationship. A real relationship in mind, body and soul, not just by name. My life must testify to this relationship through acts and the total belief in the heart. And never be shy professing your faith in the Almighty, that is never let go an opportunity to stand for the truth even at the cost of losing family and friends. Standing on the side of truth is standing on the side of Christ. HE is the TRUTH.
The narrator seems to throw away Ben's question: Am I saved? Bishop Barron is so great in his words and the teaching of the Magestarium, that he affirms Ben's salvation, not the same way Barron follows, but saved nonetheless. These two are both very smart, but both true believers of their path to salvation. I had the privilege of receiving my masters in front of Bishop Barron and although he didn't notice my passing comment was: Thank you, your excellency. (he explained how our hearts are restless)
The thing Ben is forgetting is that Abrahams faith was seen as righteousness, then he made his journey into the world. Faith is what started the chosen people, good works is what came from it. You are saved by faith through grace in order to do good works. Works isn't the progenitor to salvation, faith is.
When Bishop Barron said "privileged" route, I took it to mean a great honour. What I mean is that to have the gift of faith and profess Christ, especially in times like these, is a great honour and privilege. And we want others who don't share that to join in that privilege. He could have meant it the other way or both ways though. I appreciate that you noticed the caveat he gave in either case. Some accuse the Church of changing her teaching. It is rather that she has redirected the focus on how to properly teach in these modern times. Why? Because you speak differently to a religious society than an atheistic one. It makes complete sense that a different approach is required. I think Bishop Barron balances this well. He has made mistakes as we all have, but he is very humble and edifying.
what is the churches view on people who have died and have seen deceased relatives and being drawn towards a blinding light and then finding themselves back in their bodies and others who have died and said they weren't aware of anything at all before being resuscitated? are we allowed a glimpse of the after life to allay our fear of dying and the unknown? or are these things nothing more than chemical signals as the brain slowly shuts down?
NDEs…Near Death Experiences…are still being investigated, by secular scientists, Vatican scientists, philosophers, physicists and theologians. It’s interesting that the majority of YT videos on NDEs focus on the white light and heaven. But there are a few people who have made videos speaking of their OWN NDEs, which they describe as TERRIFYING…and their descriptions bear out many of the traditional understandings of Hell. Demons, misery…and they ALL mention that the greatest terror is awareness that those in Hell…including them at the time of the NDE…are fully aware that He’ll is ETERNAL. When they come out of the NDE….They change their lives, outlook and actions….completely…and include faith in Jesus in their lives.
Belief and faith is not something you can just declare. It’s internal and will have no bearing on someone going to heaven/hell. It’s something that someone must feel and you can only feel it if it’s been given or presented to you. It’s a gift that not everyone has or ever will receive. Someone’s eternal soul (if there is one) will not be based on faith or belief alone.
Explicit rejection of faith, belief or the possibility of the reality of the Divine DOES have consequences. Here, in this life, it narrows the one closed to it. There IS a hereafter. It is eternal. If you are a miserable bastard here on earth, you will not find yourself in heaven. Based at the very least, o what heaven is. And what it is not.

It doesn’t matter what Vatican 2 said. All that matters is what Christ and the Bible says, which is that the ONLY way to heaven is through Jesus. It’s not the privileged way. It’s the only way, because without Jesus atoning for your sins, you are dead in your sins, no matter how many good works you do on earth. John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”. 2 Timothy 4:3-4 "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables". Matthew 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’”
You: ....the ONLY way to heaven is through Jesus. It’s not the privileged way. It’s the only way, Me: Bishop Baron did not say that there was another way besides Jesus. I think he implied that there were multiple way to Jesus, and not all of them as direct as we might expect.
As a Lutheran Bishop Barron, I can’t agree with an atheist being saved. An atheist doesn’t believe in any kind of deity. But then again, Lutheran don’t believe in good works as a means to salvation. Good works flows naturally as a Christian, because of our faith in Christ, we are changed mentally emotionally and spiritually and because of that change we do good works out of our love for Christ. We are saved by the grace of God.✝️
I don't think by employing the term "privileged route" that the Bishop was undermining the faith, but that all are saved through Christ either directed ( "privileged route") or indirectly. He never implies that there is any salvation outside of Christ.
I disagree. Read the Scripture. Salvation is through Christ, and Christ alone. There is no such thing as a "privileged route" existing alongside an in-direct route of love and conscience. Rome is wrong. Bishop Barron is wrong. The Bishop is leading people astray. And I say that as someone who truly appreciates the Bishop's scholarly crudentials. I love listening to him talk about Aquinas and the medieval theologians, many of whom added tremendous value to our understanding of the Christian faith. However, Rome is wrong about salvation. The entire Roman system is wrong.
As someone who is not a Catholic. I am concerned about his wording of the "privileged route" and "pluralism" in the same clip. However to give benefit of the doubt, could he be meaning the understanding of those who die before hearing of Christ and, similar to the Protestant understanding, that they will be judged according to their level of understanding?
I find Bishop Barron is ambiguous here when he says Jesus is the preferred way to Heaven. As a catholic, we believe Jesus is the only way to the Father. As every catholic enters heaven only through Jesus and the grace of God, I expect Jesus can exercise His authority as well, to grant grace to non Catholics to enter the eternal kingdom. In any event John 15:6 "No one gets to the Father except through Me". "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life"
I’m really liking Bishop Barons videos and his explanations & presentations. We need so many more Bishops speaking out - yet they have not done so. Why
Of course. If a good Jew dies he will also go through Jesus before he is accepted into heaven, because Jesus is the road and gate of heaven. God is love and whoever dwell in love in love dwell in God. Please don't make Jesus a cruel and unjust person who simply condemn people to hell. Only Jesus can judge not you or anyone, not even priests or pastors. That's the reason there will be a judgement day. Jesus is a good judge. Don't twist scripture according to your protestant view.
Luke 12:42-48 has three afterlife path. One is purgatory, with two possibilities for it. For the person that knew better and for the ignorant. James 2:13. God prefers mercy to judgment and out if this we see God would create purgatory.
Mr. Shapiro it is very evident in scripture that good works doesn’t earn your way to heaven. By the grace of God go each and everyone of us. Your faith in Christ is necessary, sir. Christ is the bridge so to speak for God’s human creation to have a relationship with him that we lost when we fell from him in the garden of Eden There are many. It will say, Lord, I did all these good deeds, and God’s response will be. I never knew you.✝️
Actually, Christ will rebuke those who say "Lord, Lord," but really didn't live a life of love. The works is the love that naturally follows from faith. But faith alone, an intellectual ascent, doesn't save. I can believe in dieting yet never shed a pound because dieting and exercise is too difficult. Look at the last paragraph of St. Matthew where Christ clearly states what Matthew alluded to earlier. You don't simply wish good upon others without doing anything. Christ uses the metaphor of the sheep and the goats being placed apart by WHAT they did while alive.
I’ve been tossing the idea of choosing Catholicism over Protestantism for a while now but if Catholics are telling Jews that they might be saved by following their laws and being a good person and then being saved indirectly by Christ, it just feels so wrong in my heart and although the heart is deceitful among all things, im not so sure that feeling is wrong. Jesus made it very clear that he didn’t come to condemn, but to save. He is the only way to be saved. You have to follow him. He also said that himself. It doesn’t matter what good deeds you do. Your good deeds are filthy rags to God. Your greatest deed doesn’t erase even your smallest sin. Only the blood of Christ can wash it away and you have to believe in his name as the Messiah. The law is worthless now as the Bible says “For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation" which was directed at converted Jews still trying to follow the law in place of the sacrifice of Jesus. If you reject him and try to depend on yourself for salvation, you’re going to fail every single time as “we all fall short of the glory of God”
A Christian Rabbi (Jew that believes in Jesus) once said Judaism is the only religion that can’t be practiced as its scriptures require. Jesus replaced the Temple.

Only thing I saw confusing about Bishop Harris's reply is although Vatican II did discuss it, it was not something that came directly out of Vatican II as something "new". It's been around as long as the Church. If not, Dante's Divine Comedy, which predates the Reformation would have been declared heretical centuries ago. Dante had placed all sorts of non Christian characters in Purgatory and Heaven Yet no one seemed bothered by that for 700 years.

Only God Himself knows heart with all it's secrets so yes, all people can be saved. Now, "can be saved" doesn't mean they will, it depends on many factors, but it depends on Gods will the most. How Isn't it obvious to many Catholics? Poor catechesis.

Saying you can be saved by following your conscious on a huge platform seems like something he’s going to have to answer to God for. It’s going to give a lot of people a false sense of security
Var 2 was not valid on so many levels. I believe what Jesus said. "I am the Way the Truth and the Life." I understand what Bishop Baron is saying, but I don't believe it. Jesus went inot Hades to save the prophets and the good pagans and bring them to Heaven. He did it. nobody else.
Shapiro asks, ‘How does Catholicism make room for other religions?’ and ‘Is the rise of Protestantism seen as a bad thing?’ I suspect the educated Shapiro already knows the answers and not wanting to alienate non-Catholics, the good bishop doesn't give the hardline answers we Catholics are taught: that we don’t “make room” (make allowances) for other religions as if they are equal -- we believe Catholicism is the only truth faith founded by Our Lord Jesus Christ and everyone else is outside of it, missing out on the special graces/sacraments gifted to us by our creator. The Church considers the "Reformation" a wrongful, terrible tragedy because God wants us unified in one body. (You will not find the term, Roman Catholic, written on any Vatican document, only, the Church or Catholic Church. The term, “Roman” was given to us by non-Catholics and many of us have obviously accepted the tag.)
This is very wrong and does not line up with the scriptures... Christ was clear many times that he was the only way, and he didn't mean you automatically get this grace by following your consciousness and doing good deeds. He made it abundantly clear when he was talking to Nicodemus. "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already" You must believe Jesus is the messiah who came to die on the cross, and that only through him we can be forgotten and be saved" Rejecting Christ and his death on the cross is Rejecting the Grace of god. So to those that say Jesus is just a regular prophet and nothing more (Muslims) they don't get saved, to those who think the messiah still hasn't come (basically saying Jesus isn't the messiah) they are also not saved, and to those who think Jesus is only "one" of the ways to heaven you are also gravely mistaken. It's simple.... one "tiny" sin and you are disqualified from being in the Prescence of god, therefore one must do the impossible so that when god looks at you he sees Christ's perfection, just like when he looked at Christ in the cross he saw every sin from every person who lived and will live on this earth, so he who knew no sin was charged for the sins of humanity. It's the doctrine of substitution, a beautiful gift from God.
The scriptures you referenced do not contradict what he said. He still said it’s Christ that does the saving. Somebody on a remote island who was never introduced to the gospel isn’t automatically condemned because they didn’t believe something they never heard about. God is not limited by our opinions of his Word. This is another reason why personal interpretation doesn’t work, you miss so much truth.
@@marisa13980 I just hope he always emphasizes that we don’t know if they can be saved, that the Church prays for them to be saved (if that is God’s will). For hundreds of years it was never believed what " Vatican 2 " teaches. The opposite was. while God's grace can work outside the sacraments n extraordinary cases, the normal means of salvation is through the visible Catholic Church and its sacraments, especially baptism. This modern theology is just that an idea , While we do not deny that God can save those outside the visible bounds of the Church in exceptional circumstances we emphasize that this is a rare occurrence and should not undermine the Church's teaching on the necessity of baptism and the Catholic faith for salvation.
I’ve come to find out that most religions who do not believe that Jesus is the Son of God, have no idea why the Incarnation needed to happen in the first place, so maybe if we start there and explain to them from the garden of Eden, and the disobedience of Adam and Eve and how the gates of heaven were shut, they might understand the Christian viewpoint and belief in why the Second Person of the Holy Trinity needed to take on human flesh and die for our sins, to re-open the gates of heaven. Just a thought!😌
That’s crazy.. no way the Roman church teaches that. If you are a religious Jew like Ben is and flat out reject Christ there is no grey area . You are damned if you don’t repent

@@Nalisox76 yes and follow his teachings through his church established here on earth by him. Sadly we have well over 45000 denominations who have rejected his church and his apostolic teachings! God bless!!
It actually has to do with knowledge. Knowledge has alot to do with salvation. So for those who have knowledge and reject Jesus well then woe to them. ... Maybe? I am not the judge but hear me out. The answer becomes a little more involved because there are so many varying degrees of rejection. For instance, you could be like Peter rejecting Jesus because you're scared for your life and there is Jesus ready to forgive you. Or you could be like Judas Iscariot collecting his money for the death of our Lord. Now that is some serious rejection and do we know if Jesus would have forgiven him had he went to Jesus and confessed? Judas ran the other way. Jesus even forgave the man hanging next to Jesus on the Crucifix. The man confessed that he was supposed to be there to suffer for his crimes but he also confessed that Jesus was suffering for crime that Jesus did not committ. My point is he expressed the knowledge of Jesus. The criminal, even on the cross, recognized Christ and Jesus told that man that he would be in Heaven with him! Imagine that! So you see Jesus really does forgive those who claim not to know our Lord. And Jesus really loves those who have knowledge of Him and those who claim to not have knowledge of Him. What Jesus really warns us against is having knowledge of Him and yet choosing to walk away from Him.
@@GodLovesYou5635 Exactly. That knowledge that he gave to all of us will be found in the Catholic faith. With that knowledge and faith, it’s useless it you don’t incorporate the corporal works of mercy. Read the founding Apostolic fathers of the church and learn new knowledge my brother in Christ!

Sadly, many religions, including Judaism in its various forms, reject Jesus. Is it Vatican 2 or what Jesus tells us in the Gospels? Many traditional Catholics reject Vatican 2, and they will also point to what Jesus said about himself. No other but JESUS! *just two examples there are many others...
I think Bishop Barron is in grave error by implying Vatican II teaches the salvation of non-Christians although technically possible is at all probable It’s dangerously presumptuous at best, these are simply questions we can’t ever 100% know, but to tell people they can get to heaven “if they follow their conscience” is a great way to possibly send a lot of people to hell The only guaranteed route of salvation is through the Church, the farther from her you go the shakier your ground gets
The Bishop is wrong about this. If you are presented the teachings of the Catholic faith and you reject it, you are rejecting Christ. If you never hear of the teachings of the Catholic Church, then yes, you can be saved by following natural law, but to say that Catholicism is the “privileged” way and anyone can just get to Heaven is wrong.

We have a lot of rules in the Catholic church much like the Jewish faith. But the heart and soul of Catholicism Is not so much rules. It’s the human heart. We attend mass, we know Jesus is there.

Excellent questions by Ben. Absolutely loved this segment.
Here is a simple but accurate way of looking at it. We are the children of God. His love for us is infinite. He does not look for ways to send us to hell. If we end up in hell it is by our choice, not His. We don’t have to understand why He will bring us to Heaven, just be thankful that He does.
You don’t have to plunge yourself into hell you can also inch your way in

Bishop Barron is what our culture needs, just as Bishop Sheen was what the culture of his time needed.
Love is the cross. The cross is love. Love is an act of the will.

So, that's Ben Shapiro. I could only give him 40 secs. Barron's good.
Boy, people really can’t say “uninterested” or “uninteresting.” It’s astounding.
Ben as an Orthodox Jew should speak with an Orthodox Priest .
I don't think by employing the term "privileged route" that the Bishop was undermining the faith, but that all are saved through Christ either directed ( "privileged route") or indirectly. He never implies that there is any salvation outside of Christ.
Exactly.
This priest is teaching straight up antichrist false doctrine
@@LzCoda Well the Catholic Church is the Church established by Jesus Christ here on earth, so if you disagree, take it up with Him.
Why
No, if more bishops speak out, more people will be deceived into thinking they are going to heaven. This is evil.
Priveledge way. NO he is the way.
I never knew you.✝️
Did you not hear Bishop Barrons explanation. Your bringing in your own bias of your limited understanding
@@elizabethnunley1160 in the scriptures it says God gives and god takes away ... So doesn't really matter what you do as you may be dammed anyway.

Ben cannot possibly be keeping all those commandments. The majority require a specific temple. He is left with like 10-20 he can actually follow.

@daddydaycareah3994 of course, if they heard of Jesus and they don't want to follow his teachings, and they willing ignore it. Then that's when salvation becomes questionable. Because it could be seen as ignoring the holy spirit.
As Catholic Bishop Robert is long winded yet so vague in the effort to not afend.
How does ben explain Isaiah 53 ? why jews omit their very own prophet words willingly knowing that it actually happens already .Hardened heart and willful blindness and lies coming from their own leader that hide that passage to the jews .Go read it , read Isaiah 53 and be honest you know deep down who it is about.
Good point.
Bishop baron should be the pope period..
Our current pope also believes, that jews are saved because of their special DNA. It's however not Catholic
We along with the Bishop should tread carefully and errre on the side of mercy and grace in regards to God relationship with the Jews. God made many promises to them and his plans and purposes for them are not completely made clear for us….
We know as gentiles Gods plans for us and also for the Jews but the apostle paul made it clear that their is blindness in part towards the Jews is to make room for us and that God uses that to spur them on towards him… it tells us to be humble … i say preach the gospel and the love of Christ to all and leave it in his hands..
Only God Himself knows heart with all it's secrets so yes, all people can be saved. Now, "can be saved" doesn't mean they will, it depends on many factors, but it depends on Gods will the most. How Isn't it obvious to many Catholics? Poor catechesis.
Amazing talk from Bishop Barron. He nails what it's all about.
To rhe uploader, try to work on not using eords like "interesting" when you talk about videos. And don't talk for the dake of talking.

Keep in mind that Bishop Barron is saying "Can" be saved, not IS saved. He's offering grace to Ben Shapiro.
@@marisa13980 I just hope he always emphasizes that we don’t know if they can be saved, that the Church prays for them to be saved (if that is God’s will). A lot of Catholics these days seem to be way too cavalier about the notion that it doesn’t really matter as long as someone’s a “good person”. And they think everybody but serial killers qualify as “good people”.

You are a child of darkness. You speak devil talk.
Barron is a wolf in sheep clothing, a heretic, apostate. Barron is anathema. He too is a child of darkness. He too speaks devil talk
Never say never
I mean everyone CAN be saved, even a Jew. But they’d have to accept Jesus Christ as their savior to do so. So I’m not sure if thats the point he was making or he was saying there was another way.
I will not debate religion...politics yes.
I wish Ben would’ve asked him the question that came out of the pope’s mouth saying that there’s many ways to heaven and many religions. He sounded like a complete New Age heretic
Catholicism is both Faith and works (acts) . Jews are saved so long they follow the old covenant as Paul said it himself.
Too much talk by the moderator! I wanted to listen to Bishop Barron and Ben Shapiro, not endless verbiage by the moderator.
Baron is embracing works not faith in Christ. Christianity 101. So sad to see this world-pleasing approach. Totally condemning of Vatican II.
Who agrees that an atheist or anyone with Goodwill can be saved without accepting Jesus?
Let's just say that no one can be saved who rejects Jesus.
There are many Christian Jews. You will find that they will point to what Jesus said and not to what Bishop Barron gets from Vatican 2 (as much as the very nice Bishop has the best of intentions) . *As many know, Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but through me. "
*Jesus said John 12:48 "There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; the very words I have spoken will condemn them at the last day."
God also suggested ripping out the unborn from their mother's (Hosea 13:16)
But who the fuck cares.
Good works Mr. Shapiro won’t get you into heaven; it’s the Grace of God and faith in Christ✝️
I think Bishop Barron is in grave error by implying Vatican II teaches the salvation of non-Christians although technically possible is at all probable
It’s dangerously presumptuous at best, these are simply questions we can’t ever 100% know, but to tell people they can get to heaven “if they follow their conscience” is a great way to possibly send a lot of people to hell
The only guaranteed route of salvation is through the Church, the farther from her you go the shakier your ground gets
He was speaking of possibilities and not of guarantees.
Can we use çatholic with capital C?
Every time I hear the teachings of Vatican 2 I wonder why I’m Catholic.
What was in error with Vatican 2?
The Bishop is wrong about this. If you are presented the teachings of the Catholic faith and you reject it, you are rejecting Christ.
If you never hear of the teachings of the Catholic Church, then yes, you can be saved by following natural law, but to say that Catholicism is the “privileged” way and anyone can just get to Heaven is wrong.
