  • A customer asked me if I could fix the handle of a knife that belonged to her father. He was a Chef and came to the USA from Columbia. (Timeline and links for items used are below the description of the video.) His Granddaughter just became a Chef in a Michelin Rated Restaurant in Nevada and wanted to have his knives. This was the only one that was broken but she did not want a new handle replacement but wanted to keep as much or the original handle as possible.

I would love to have seen a complete handle replacement on those molded handles. The knob at the end of the tang makes it more difficult to slip on a new handle.

great video, I really like the silicon wrap working as a mold. One bit of advice on mixing colors, you can add the compliment to your base to darken the mix. I thought you did a great job on your color match, but adding a very small touch of yellow (compliment) to the purple base would have darken the mix.

I am definitely no expert on mixing colors thanks for the tip 95% of the time my handle repairs are just black plastic so that doesn't take much color matching.
