Felix's projects are the highest form of praise. Taking an idea and making it better. Sharing it is just gravy for us.
Thank you very much!
Love this idea!!! I just bought enough supplies on Amazon to make 5 or 6 of these, and I’ll be giving them away as Fathers Day, birthday, and Christmas presents this year. Thanks so much for the video!
I love how you think out of the box for new ideas!
Thanks a lot Jim!
You my friend are the Victorinox Beast!!!!! This company should hire someone like you for the creativity. The Victorinox Beast Cronicles. Thank you Felix.
Awesome Felix¡
Thanks.
I am designing a similar one, but with a thinner middle pipe, only the edges thicker.
Most interesting way to sharpen knives I have seen in a long time. I like the idea and design. Thank you for sharing it.
Thanks a lot my friend!
I made the same thing a couple of years ago. At 4:43, what I did was insert - what I call the barrel - into my drill press and hold some fine sandpaper against the barrel to smooth down the sides.
You've got a great idea Mr. Immler. Thanks for sharing.
Love that little saw! ❤❤❤
Haa ha ha, danke Ulf!
Great DIY Video as always. Very inspiring! The people at HORL should also make a smaller version optimized for SAKs and sell it together with you as „Felix Immler Edition“ 😊
Thanks for this compliment! :-D
Felix, you are wonderful. Well done. Respect.
You're a true Macgyver of the Swiss army knife an everything else. Have a nice day!!! ✌️❤️😎
Thanks a lot dear Joe!
@@FelixImmler You're welcome. Love your videos!!! So gotta get me a Ranger or Huntsman model soon!!!
@@FelixImmler an your book too!!!
This is exactly what I’m looking for Felix. Cheers!
Super!!!
You never cease to amaze me Felix. Thank you once again for your wonderful ideas.
Using your system, I will use 800 and 1200 grit sandpaper to maybe get a sharper edge.
Keep those videos coming, I learned so much from you.👍👍
Your comment makes me happy! Thank you very much!
The roll sharpener was great but what really made me go "Whoa!" was the tiny 'bushcraft' BuckHackSaw. I must make one of those. Thanks Felix 🖖
Greetings from South Africa. Love your videos!
Wowww, thank you so much!!
Wow, so cool! What a nice solution to an everyday problem! Very attractive sharpener!
I'd really like to know more about the saw!
Haa ha haa thank you! ua-cam.com/video/pCB4-ZtC33I/v-deo.html
Herzlichen Dank!!
Vielen Dank Peter!!!
greatest tips there, Felix. I've learnt LOTS from you, so many thanks for this nifty tuitional video! Wendi 🌻
Hey Felix who cares if a video is later than expected. It’s always enjoyable to watch yours and I learn a lot. Vielen dank mate
Thank you so much!!!
A lot of work to make a knife sharpener, but very interesting from an engineering standpoint . Thanks Felix for another very interesting and useful video.
Thank you so much for this compliment!
This was fantastic, Felix! Have a great Sunday!
You sir never cease to amaze. This looks perfect. What a simple solution for swiss army knives, and how easy to customize with an even finer grit head!
hello Tim . Thank you so much for this wonderful compliment!
How clever you are! I love it! And you took the time to make it look attractive. I have Swiss Army knives from the 1960's and 1990s and they have never been sharpened. When I get time, I will try to make one. I have most of the tools you used, though not all.
Brilliant DIY project 🏆 Greetings from Norway
Thanks my friend!!
Thanks for the video. I think I will try making this, since I don't want to pay such a ridiculous price for a rolling sharpener. One change I might suggest to make this build more economical is to simply apply some tape to the center wood instead of spending all that time sanding and applying a finish to the wood.
Time is money. For the amount of time it takes to do that, especially if you don't have a belt sander, a strip of a suitable type of tape would be far cheaper. As in, for most people, if they spent that same amount of time at their jobs, they'd probably earn way, way more than the few cent cost of the tape spent.
Thanks a lot for your idea!
More genius. That was amazing to watch! I’ve never heard of such a sharpener. Double learning for me!
Felix, du bist mein Held! Klasse Video, danke dir!
Excellent idea and it worked very well, my friend! Thanks so much for showing this inexpensive way to make your own!
this is really awesome. thanks a lost for not only showing how to build such a tool, but also for testing it.
Great job Felix!!! Love it!!
Thanks a lot!
loved the little handsaw. It looked like it was made by you too

Woww incredible work. Thank for video
Thanks a lot!
Very imaginative and effective. Sadly, I cannot make one for myself. I lobe Swiss Army knives!
AWESOME, as usual. Thanks for sharing Your cool ideas! Greetings from France ^_^
Thanks for the great idea 👍❤️🇺🇸
You always surprise me with your tricks, but today was a master class. Today you have become a genius. My congratulations
Tolle Idee!
Micron Paste super Ergebnisse erzielt.
I have a Parkside (Lidl) disk sander too, I've been using it for over 4 years now. It's been a great buy for me.
Another winning video! Thanks.
Danke Kurt!
Another really clever idea, Felix! Thanks for showing this!
Thanks a lot Bill.
Very Useful Project and Cheap. Thank You For Making This Video
Thanks a lot for watching!
Very cool. I really like how you incorporated the angle guides for stropping, bravo 👏
Thank you very much!!
Fantastic video as ever Felix. You truly are the King of the SAK world!!!
Thank you so much!
Very inspirational. Thank you for this one Felix. This one is giving me some ideas.
Super... that makes me happy.
I was looking at those rull grinders but always thought they were priced steeply for my requirements. Great video as always !
Wow!!! Really interesting video here 😎👍
Nice touch with the cutting edge detail, you see the remarkable difference
Well done Felix
Thanks a lot dear Steve!
Nice sharpener and nice DIY build! In general, any guide that maintains consistent angle and eliminates the human “wobble factor” is good. This sharpener looks very handy and easy for anyone to use.👍
I've learned more from this channel than most people did in school!I really do appreciate all of your hard work and knowledge, maybe one day victory Knox knives will give you a special job teaching all the wonderful things that can be done with their knives!
Thank you very much!!
This is totally new to me. I like the idea of always having the right cut angle. I use a bucher rod but I'm never quit sure if my angle is ok. Thanks Felix for another very interesting video and take care.
This is brilliant!
Thanks a lot Dominic. can you send me a pm with your 3d printing idea?
What a great idea Felix
Thanks a lot Michael.
Wow! Liebä Gruäss us Züri!
Danke mein lieber Freund!
Great little project Felix.
Thanks Felix’s 👍 I like it
Hello Tony!! Thanks a lot my friend!
Most of the labor and equipment used in this video is to make a rectangular piece of wood into a smooth cylinder shape. Most people do not have all of that equipment. It would be better to just make out of a wooden closet rod used for hanging coats. These are available at Home Depot or other hardware stores with a 1-inch diameter (25mm). I might try this. Thanks you for making so many great videos Felix.
Go your own way... there is nothing wrong!
He used a hole saw…. Not much more simple than that…. The rest is just finicky lol
Cool tool! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks a lot for watching!
Great idea! going to make one on my lathe. Love that bow saw as well.
The one at 5:30 (or thereabouts)? Yeah, that rocks!
Extremely clever you are. Thank you!
Very cool. Thanks!
Thanks a lot!
I wish I had a mind for creative things like this. Your mind is so fascinating, Felix! Great work as always - thanks for sharing.
Thank you Felix, very good
Thanks a lot!
Another genius idea!
I'm lucky enough to have a friend who sharpens blades, but this was still a great video! My friend also have a bottle of whisky for me, I need to dull some knives so I have to visit him :-D
What an amazing video - thanks Felix - Thumbs Up!
Thank you very much!!
Very nice! As always, an excellent video. Thank you!
That was really interesting. Thanks!
THIS is a BRILLIANT idea! I love it very much when you show us how to make our own tools with our own two hands! I have no words to fit my excitement... I need to get into my workshop right now! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for this, Felix! 😊
Oh, your link to the bearing pulley - it seems that it is not for the product, but for the order status - so it shows nothing... when you have the time, might you fix that? Thank you in advance! 🙂
just use a saw or flat file they cost $3 and do a great job
@@jernone3849 A great job as a bearing pulley?? lol
Absolutely brilliant!
Great video, awesome content.
Thanks Felix!
Thanks a lot!
This is a very interesting project. Never thought this was possible. I started collecting kitchen knives and was forced to learn how to sharpen them. Rechecked my victorinox and resharpen them. I use a 600 grit DMT plate and I find that I only need 1 pass to create a burr. Just honed them on a padreno rod then strop them on my belt 😂. Learning about steel and rockwell scale I learned that pocket knives are softer especially compared to japanese steel . Good thing I only collect them so need not sharpen them regularly. I started with German Knives and they serve me well. Rocking a wusthof classic and zwilling pro knives now. Back home in my country I saw a group selling used or previously owned japanese knives that are very very affordable so planning to add them soon as well on my future collection. Nonetheless victorinox swiss knives were my first collections together with Leatherman , sperdco and few opinels. The SAKs abd the PM2 are a breeze to resharpen. By the way, I was lured to knive collection turned hobby because of someone named Felix.😅
It's absolutely brilliant work 👏
Effective AND beautiful...brilliant! 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Danke für das interessante Video! Das Parkside Schleifgerät war auch nicht schlecht😏

Interesting I've never seen a hand held roller grinder for sharpening a knife . Great Job as usual.
I must admit I had envisioned a different type of Grinder , similar to what one would use to grind up some herbs

I love the video. Thank you... I went to aliexpress and the bearing pulley isn't listed or it wants me to sign in... what were the specs on that pulley so I can find a match. I really want to build this. Thanks.
Here you find all dates... ua-cam.com/video/NcgNDdB44EY/v-deo.html
