@@benlyons5884 Thanks for the kind words mate! Loads have changed since this video, if you have instagram, you can have a look at our current progress @eroztour otherwise there should be an update video coming out sometime in the next few months!
I have this but I use cam buckle straps instead. Then you can adjust the tension for weight. As after a while oki straps start to lose their tension and will start to sag, or can carry less and less weight - even just carrying pillows of jumpers etc.
It is one of the best things we have done to date, keeps them out the way, clean and makes more room in the cab. As for weight, she is heavy but that doesn't bother us too much as we still get some good fuel eco
Thanks mate! the tyre size here is 305/75/16 from memory. I have since upgraded to 315/70/16. I will have a updated video out sometime over the next few months so be sure to stay tuned!
Very nice 80 and great set up. I had to subscribe to follow her around. A couple of notes for you. Most people don't realise that a backwards facing snorkel is reducing the potential air flow into the turbo. As the fast flow air goes past the out it creates a negative pressure which tries to sucks air out of the turbo when the turbo is trying to suck air in. Diesels need lots of air and why we have turbos. The faster you go the worse it is. I believe your jb turbo is a CT26 copy. A Toyota CT26 has large Toyota brand on it not jb. The high flow part is the internal chambers have been opened out to make them larger and smoothed for free flowing. I like your neat rear wall set up. Also like your water drum set up. I made something similar but in the wagon of my 80. Your 12v looks the part as well. When you started her up there was some noise like exhaust banging that could be due to sad engine mounts?? Very good set up all round and a great camp spot
thanks for the support mate! I appreciate the heads up about the snorkel, running low boost the ram affect for cooling is not as inportant. We have been running the jbturbo kit for quite some time now, the copy seems to be coping with everything we have thrown at it so has been good! We appreciate the kind words, the rattle was the exhaust slightly hitting a cross memeber
Beautiful car mate, at 18:43 was that in Jurien Bay North Head a few weeks ago? Me and my partner was going to camp in that spot then we left to get our swag as we were looking for somewhere less windy then I remember you guys rocked up 😓😂😂😂 So had to find another spot hahahaha m! But we found the perfect place not far from ya
Epic set up mate! Tidy work and love the organisation. Do you know if Bushwacker make a small drop down room for the big 270 awning? That bloody train at the end 😂
@@eroz493 More like those drop down rooms like what connect to the kings awnings :) i want the bushwacker as-long as i can attach a room to get away from the bugs! Keen to see this rig in the flesh!
Great video, you have gone to great lerngths to create the best truck for you and your needs. I bet it's a bit of a weapon out on the tracks. Hopefully I can get my 80 to that level soon. Subbed!
Love your work, I also have a 1hz 80 series. How do you rate the turbo kit? I’m so hesitant to do it but would love the extra power as mine is severely lacking. Cheers
Hey mate, I appreciate it! Turbo kit is a good starter kit, it’s done me well and is more then enough to get up and overtake. I suggest getting your 80 compression tested first, along with getting the big end bearings checked (sump has to come off for oil return if your bung is welded anyway) and a few other checks. I’m a diesel mechanic so happy to run you through if you want to message our Instagram - 4x4au 👍🏻
hey mate, they aren't emu wings. A very good friend of mine Nathan knocked these up for me, been absolutely fantastic. Check out The Cruiser Company, they do 80 ones and are the most reasonably priced
we don't run one on ours, however an aftermarket intercooler is always a great option for any 4wd. There aren't any cons to running one and will definitely help your temps stay on the cooler side. We didn't fit one at the time due to not having the time to fit being our only vehicle to drive, we run low boost (12psi) and don't see our EGT's over 350 degrees, an intercooler will be on the list when we turn the boost up
@@eroz493 cool. I guess you have to be more careful with the 1HZ. I do like your setup. Overland Bound did a video on my rig and I thought I was done. Still modifying it. 😀ua-cam.com/video/KVhfG-yXYR4/v-deo.html

Nice. I bought my dad's last year and she's been in the family 28 years. She has been loved like yours. Thanks for the tips. Ill carry on watching.

Who would be keen on an update video? quite a few things have changed!
