At 18:09 she totally said 'varnish'. Richard knew what he was doing, he felt bad for her and maybe a combination he had a crush on her sister.
Slick dickie dawson they used to call him. He was a good man for helping out his future sister in law. He also knew someday he was going to ask out her sister, Gretchen.
If Dawson hadn't done that, she would have gotten goose eggs on 4 out of the 5 questions and only scoring 19 points on the fifth one. He totally bailed her out. If Gretchen had just answered Football instead of baseball, they would have gotten the 200 points they needed.

I always loved and appreciated Richard for being a loving soul. I die not know of hid love story with his wife Gretchen until today. What a True Love story.
I was part of the backstage crew during this era, and Gretchen always throated Rich really good and deep backstage -- Rich said Gretchen's gag reflex was basically nonexistent, and he said he decided to marry her the second she made his hog completely disappear down her gullet; she would do it regularly and the whole crew had to pretend like nothing was happening while we all could hear the loud, sloppy sounds of a sausage squelching around in her throat as he thrusted as deep as he could push it. He always kept a bib around the crotch area because she would ooze spit, and it would spill out of her mouth, drip over her chin, and then fall onto his pants. She always took it with ease and never complained. They were the cutest couple.

It all started when Richard Dawson had a nervous contestant on his show (who just so happened to be a woman). He gave her a kiss expressing that his mom used to do that to him whenever he was anxious/nervous/ etc. So, his only intentions of a kiss was to help the contestants, like the nervous woman, relax and breathe a little.
Ik it sounds weird, but it’s not like he did it out of their consent for long. The families, specifically the women, would be asked if they wanted to be kissed by Richard or not, and surprisingly, no one really cared about that and allowed him to do so. Of course Nowadays, we’d think it’s creepy, but back then it was just a little friendly gesture of his that almost everyone overlooked and allowed.
- Plus, after he got married to his second wife and they had a daughter together, he promised his daughter that he’d stop kissing other women and only kiss her mother (his wife.)

some fun facts. Bob Johnson died in 2011 a year before Richard Dawson. June Johnson died in 2018, 7 years after Richard. Gretchen Dawson is now 67, she stayed in the Beverly Hills home she shared with Richard for about 4 years after he died, and now lives in Manhattan Beach where she grew up. Richard was 25 years older than her when they started dating in 1981, they did not marry for ten years in 1991, they already had a daughter Shannon Nicole Dawson who was born in 1990. Gretchen has not remarried in the 11 since Richard passed. Gretchen and Heidi who is now 71, are both on Facebook but are not friends on Facebook. Wendy is 78 and lives in a condo in Redondo Beach.

Richard just dripped charm and wit. He was always clever with a joke without slowing down the flow of the show, and always wanted to see the contestants do well. There was an obvious, genuine kindness in his heart, and all you nimrods focus on is the fact that he would give girls a peck on the lips. Nice family. I know Richard Dawson loved his wife, Gretchen and their daughter, Shannon Nicole. Richard Dawson was a great guy. He had sons. I would want to stay out of the the spotlight, for sure. To the family, you had a great man. We loved him so much, too.

Wendy the oldest one is 78 now, Gretchen is 67 and Heidi is 71. It is interesting Heidi Johnson and Gretchen Dawson are both on Facebook and not friends on Facebook. Seems like they became estranged from her, probably a little jealous of her!

Nah, you have to schedule wisdom teeth extraction way in advance, and the dentist doesn't remove them, a specialist does.

You know nothing... dentists pulled them in the 80s... and she did in fact have them removed the next day, Richard discusses it in the video where he discusses meeting her n this show/episode. His wife, I think he would know.

Now he tried to call her to go out with her and she never answered him because she had her wisdom teeth out and she couldn't talk to him ...then they went out on their date actually he cooks for her and he made asparagus and she didn't eat it and she ended up telling him that she didn't like vegetables that started with the letter A such as asparagus
