Thank you for posting this great video. I can relate to it in many ways. When I was about 10 years old, I drove my grandfather’s Super C through our barn hallway, and tore out the ladder to the hay loft with the end of the axle that stuck out past the left rear tire. My grandfather had a Super C with a disk plow identical to this plow. It was designed for the C tractor but was also sold for Super C tractors that were not equipped with the later Fast Hitch system. In Eastern Oklahoma in the 1950s, farmers used disk plows in the dry summers after wheat had been harvested to prepare the land for sowing winter wheat in September and October. The disk plows worked best in soil that had been broken with a moldboard in previous years, and so was looser than ground that had never been plowed before. My grandfather used this rig to build terraces on some crop land to control erosion and improve drainage and water retention, with a neighbor using a surveyor level borrowed from the local Soil Conservation Service to help with layout. Your plow seems to be in excellent condition and is a rare find. I still have my grandfather’s Super C but the disk plow left the place long ago. I’ve looked for years, but have never seen one even approaching the condition of this plow. My grandfather was probably glad to see his go. He said it took him a half day to lift the plow onto the tractor frame by hand and get everything hitched up and adjusted correctly. Unlike the Super C mounted moldboard plow, the disk plow didn’t lift completely off the ground but trailed using that wheel in back. So when you turn at the end of the field, you cannot turn very sharply or the back of the tractor tire will dig into the plow’s main beam. My grandfather said it took nearly 10 acres to turn the thing around. The wheel on the plow is made to turn back and forth and “steer” the rear of the plow. The rod running up to the tricycle front is adjusted to make the rear of the plow follow the tractor by turning the plow wheel when the front tractor wheels turn. That helped tighten the turning circle a little, and when the wheel was straight, helped keep the rear of the plow aligned with the furrows. Best of luck with this.

The rear tires are new but about 10 years old if that makes sense. Lanny now lives 1 hour and 45 mins from here. He will be here a few days. He is gonna try to get new tubes in the rear and put new ones on the front. Our next step is to see if it will run. It ran when it was parked but fuel lines and such are rotten.

Lanny now lives about an hour and half away but we are talking about maybe me getting the tires up in shape and one weekend he and I get it running again. In the meantime he is setting up an appointment with the resto guy.
Have a tractor and plow just like bough in 1950 model 21 plow have the original manual to go with it. My father bough new in 1951. The rod attached to the. Front of tractor steers the back wheel of the plow to keep it in line wjth the tractor
Geez this was hard to watch !! This is a steerable mid mount plow, turn the steering wheel to turn plow wheel. I noticed it didn't have a drawbar , may have dropped off fast hitch to mount plow, ?? My dad had a C with plow and mounted cultivator and carry all , so i know about them
C is what I need to finish my collection but like all my other m h a b batteries are expensive I’m going to have to set up a go fund me page just to put gas in them lol
That long rod that hooks to the front wheel bolster actually steers the back wheel on the plow. Dad had one for his H that was 3 bottom that steered like that.

One of my landlords has 2 Super C’s. I know one is fast hitch and I think both are. He has all kinds of attachments for it. One of the tractors has a loader.
It’s going to l👀k great restored ! Russ is this a C or super C . I’m thinking C do to plow connection which I found also interesting as well . In my 60 years I can’t recall seeing a hook up that way ( plow that is ) . Thanks for sharing cousin Russ , enjoyed watching!

This Farmall C was made before the quick hitches came out on these tractors , that is why you see it mounted under the tractor that way .
I know where 2 Super C’s are with the fast hitch and attachments.

It is totaled. The right side front axle broke and everything is twisted on the inside. We’ve been parting it out.

The exhaust is covered and was covered in the building. We uncovered it for transport. The tractor is now covered with tarp.
I bet there aren't too many non fast hitch two pan plows for a super c around anymore. It would make a dandy for gardens and food plots.
