That's awesome. Something about a family tractor makes it special. Bet your uncle was there the whole time with you smiling. Way to make him proud. Don't worry it will play just fine with your Masseys.
Ya I've been there and done that with tractors while living up in MN. You should of painted the steger rims silver and the center planitarties limegreen green. Keep on with the great details..when's the big international 4x4 comin in to be painted and bought up
Great video JT. I love seeing the old tractors being brought back to life, no matter what kind they are. Looking forward to your next video. Stay safe.
12 minutes in and I am too excited about commenting and reading other replies so hope I am not too off base. What you have there for ignition is actually a magneto! The internal coil has been bypassed and it is now functionally a conventional distributor. The ihc circle logo you see is likely original or 1st tuneup in the 50s as the tractor man HiH logo was released post ww2, before 1950. Mags are cool but suck to tune up, the points are only accessible with surgical disassembly. The model of mag is H4. Mags in the tractor world also only run at full advance above starting rpms. Plenty of Delco and IH distributors out there to convert to for your convenience. Also FYI the fast hitch for a super c will bolt up (probably 200 and 230 too). Alas, One of the leveling components won't be quite right but our C (drum brakes) had a fast hitch since it came to our farm in the 50s/60s and it worked fine. Warning, if you get stuck, don't pull from the front bolster--our C died when the 100 horse tractor pulled it out of the mud, engine block ears sheared right off. The "12 ton" loaded silage box behind the C didn't help either 😊
Thank you for the info! I’m not a fan of the mag either, but I figure until it goes kaput I’ll leave it alone for now 😉. I figured the logo on the rotor had to be old, quite interesting to know that it could be an original! Thank you for commenting!
JT we farmed for 40 years with Farmall, Massey and JD... cut tobacco stalks with a '46 B Farmall at the ripe old age of 6! ...I'm 67 and a member of IHCC collectors chapter #37 in NC. You have a family heirloom there! I have four old Farmalls from '49-'57 and find great joy in keeping them going! GOOD JOB! as usual!
I have a c and it by far is my favorite little tractor to drive. Good luck with your C it will purr and tick like a clock when you get her done. Tim from Oklahoma
Nice job getting it back running! I was really surprised to hear that there was no rust in that tank. Even more so after seeing the rust on those valves. A little more tinkering and you will have a nice tractor for the yard. I have several old ones here also that haven't run in many years. Watching your video makes me want to put aside everything and drag them into the shop, get them running.
Been binge watching your channel as i recover from major spinal surgery here in the Regina General Hospital . Get a kick out of how Fluffy "Helps you" , LOL . Awesome job JT ! Thanks for keeping my spirits up as i recover , much appreciated !
Wow! I am humbled that I can help you to get through this situation! I sure hope you are better soon, and fluffy and I will keep new and exciting things coming!
Tractors Back Then were made so you can work on them so simple but yet they got the job done nowadays you have to have a college education to start one I work for a John Deere dealership and the way things are made nowadays this is a throwaway world that is unfortunate that's why I love the older machines I love the passion you have for these older tractors and forgive me for the talk and text
Cool old tractor I run seafoam in my fuel it helps keep thong clean 1st tank of the year and last when I put fresh oil in my equipment after it sat a why I put marvel mystery oil in with regular oil it helps alot even if you have a little lifter tick it cleans and oils it right up
As I mentioned earlier this morning, at my other job at the golf course, we have a Farmall B tractor sitting outside in a nice little area, it does run, but the battery is out of it and the tires are flat so no one tries to steal it.
Father in-law had a super c like that that back in the 80 s ran good we would start it with the hand crank did you take a loader off it or cultivators doesn't matter good video for me and good memories for us both thanks south east Tennessee is watching
If you could fix the old carb I would those amazon carbs are junk my neabor had one his johndeer and it shrugged like crazy it ended up being the main jet was 5 sizes to small I either fix the old carbs or look for a used one
Is that ideal? Nope, neither is the guy shooting the video. She’s got spark, she’ll bark. Lol! 😷😂 Did you ever do a compression test on each cylinder? That’s one of the first things I do when I buy used equipment, if they haven’t done so already.
Wow JT that brought back some memories. I remember an old International parked up behind some hay in the barn at home in the 60s, that my Grandad bought during ww2. It was the second one he ordered to come from the US, the first didn’t make of the ship as it got bomb by the Germans in Liverpool Docks. Really enjoyed the Vid can’t wait for the next. Thanks 🇺🇸🇬🇧👍
That's awesome. Something about a family tractor makes it special. Bet your uncle was there the whole time with you smiling. Way to make him proud. Don't worry it will play just fine with your Masseys.
Agreed! There’s a few other previous family owned tractors I’d love to add to my collection

I know they were red although like you painted them but it was too much red back in the day
A Diamond in the rough - glad you got it going !!!!!
That's awesome. It went pretty easy for you. I was hoping for the best but prepared for you to do a lot more work.
I was too 😉
I know it's a little late but JT is the world's best backwards driver
Great video JT. I love seeing the old tractors being brought back to life, no matter what kind they are. Looking forward to your next video. Stay safe.
Thanks 👍
Very nice! I love the Super C’s. Got two of them myself. Can’t wait to see you fox it up! Nice to have family tractors!
The se
c or super c is a very capable little tractor.
I have a 1951 wide front end myself myself.

Farmall C brings back good memories. Good work.
I enjoyed the video. Nice work on the tractor!🙂

Glad to hear that it came back home. Thanks for sharing

I've got a super a and a 140. I enjoy playing with them.
Very good Video

In stead of ether, give it a snort of brake clean always works for me
Great video as always.

I appreciate it! The talk to text doesn’t bother me 😉
Beauty. Not too bad getting started at all!
You ate a smart man.
You Know what You ar doing.
Love youre content keep it going.
Thank you!
Great job she's back where she belongs on the farm an not parted out or scraped uncle smiling buddy
Great man ! Always good to have them run .
They built equipment back then so you could fix it yourself with a pair of pliers and a crescent wrench 🔧 great job JT
Thanks!

That is quite the accomplishment, getting the C running after it set so long. 😊
Thanks! It took a little extra work but was worth it
She lives another day. Bless her little heart ❤️.
Good job young man.
There ya go using that damned claw hammer again. Sorry, just had to say that. I do love watching you bring these oldies back to life.
Thank you!
I agree on the 12V upgrade.
As I mentioned earlier this morning, at my other job at the golf course, we have a Farmall B tractor sitting outside in a nice little area, it does run, but the battery is out of it and the tires are flat so no one tries to steal it.
Right on!
Ah, spring!:) When a man's thoughts turn to tractors!!:)
That will make a nice hay raking / wagon pulling tractor.
I was considering running it on a auger if it’s got enough 😉
Old tractors amaze me.
Great work JT!
i got farmall c last spring happy to see others with them
Right on!
Great to see run,
Nice work JT , Very satisfying getting an old girl going again especially a 1948 model 😉 farmall that is 🤣🤣
I enjoy doing old revivals 😉
Kung Fuberator 😂😂 Love it. Keep it up JT, from the U.K.
The black pipe threaded into into the header is classic farmer move lol
I don’t think I’ve ever seen one without that 😉
Your uncles would be proud!
Father in-law had a super c like that that back in the 80 s ran good we would start it with the hand crank did you take a loader off it or cultivators doesn't matter good video for me and good memories for us both thanks south east Tennessee is watching
I think that had cultivators on it back in the day if I’m not mistaken
Ok just noticed looked like something was removed from the front of the tractor but that could have been years ago thanks for the reply
Great job on the C! Liquid Wrench for the win on the valves.
That stuff is amazing!
I would to because 6volt battery are hard to come by
That farmall sounded just like that big truck , you might could pull him 😂
Nice tractor to start up.
Thanks 👍
“Kung-fuburetor” -JT 😂
It looks good
Damn, I thought it was the 4th of July with all that spark. Lol
Right!
Progress👌
Kung-fu-buretor 😂 I’m using that one 😂.
Enjoy your videos, did you edit out checking coolant level
I popped the cap in the pole barn before I brought it back 😉. Was surprised to see it at the top
Hell, she will be ready for next spring. Hook a 3 bottom plow to her and put her to work. Lol
Right on!
Best MF channel on the tube
If that’s all original that’s in awesome shape especially the paint
I don’t think the paint is original, there’s evidence that it’s been “touched up” 😉
If you could fix the old carb I would those amazon carbs are junk my neabor had one his johndeer and it shrugged like crazy it ended up being the main jet was 5 sizes to small I either fix the old carbs or look for a used one
You could try to take old jets and put in new carb if they are the same threads that would prob fix your running problems
Our 1155 when cold has ok steering and flow to raise implements. But when I warms up you loss flow unless you really get the rpm’s up. Any advice
Is that ideal? Nope, neither is the guy shooting the video. She’s got spark, she’ll bark. Lol! 😷😂
Did you ever do a compression test on each cylinder? That’s one of the first things I do when I buy used equipment, if they haven’t done so already.
I do, I think I did on this one but may not have got it on the video. That is a good way to pinpoint my trouble cylinders lol
Another great video. What’s older, the 1948 tractor or the ancient hammer? 😂
It’s a toss up 😆
My first thought…. Did you look up into that intake to make sure there were no nests in there??
I did
Wow JT that brought back some memories. I remember an old International parked up behind some hay in the barn at home in the 60s, that my Grandad bought during ww2. 👍
So , where did you learn to work on all this equipment?
Self taught. Been tinkering since I was i. Grade school lol
@jtsbarnngrill6873 nice!! Yeah, I tell people I'm you tube certified. Lol
👍🏻🇨🇦
Nice videos, do you have a email address so I can ask some advice on my 1155s?
Sure. Jtsbarnngrill@gmail.com. Should be on my home page
One thing or well 2 things I can't stand wasps and yellow jackets
Me either! Got enough of them lol
So much for the rule about never ever start a tractor on the ground.
I was standing on the hitch behind it.
That thing desperately needs a muffler!
buy a mike so you can be heard.
