POLITICIANS?!!! This is what Thomas Sowell has said about them.
“No one will really understand politics until they understand that politicians are not trying to solve our problems. They are trying to solve their own problems - of which getting elected and re-elected are number one and number two. Whatever is number three is far behind.”
“Someone once said that taxes are the price we pay for civilization. That may have been true when he said it, but today taxes are mostly the price we pay so that politicians can play Santa Claus and get reelected.”
“How long do politicians have to keep on promising heaven and delivering hell before people catch on and stop getting swept away by rhetoric?”

I’m a small business owner and I don’t own a yacht…ridiculous statement. I started my business 30 years ago. COVID came, and because I live in California, I nearly lost everything. My souvenir is a $500k loan I didn’t owe before. Usually when you take out a loan you get to buy something. What did I buy? I paid my rent. Being told how to run my business by Alex is insulting. He doesn’t think we need to raise prices when the minimum wage goes up, energy costs spike, and every supply we have to purchase is 30-40%?!? Where does that money come from, bro? Do we go outside and shake the money tree? Dude we all have competitors. We can’t just keep prices high for no reason-our competition would destroy us. How do people not understand this?

@gregorypaul7898 to be honest, globally, corporations are also struggling. You see if you look for news worldwide, more and more corporations go under (closure, bankruptcy). Corporate greed, yes, that's classic.... But only those 1% of-the-population-corporations can afford to think of being greedy & doing price gauging. So those 1% are going to have to pay their fair tax .. stop expecting to get a tax cut. If the 1% work their bum-up to support "that 1 incumbent" who "promises the world" to give them (the 1% of the population) a tax cut, that's the definition of greed.... The one people should fight for to not continue happening.
The ones that need help, the businesses that are struggling to pay workers & stay afloat at the same time (other corporations with many workers who are struggling, also the medium and small businesses), can get tax cut.
These economic problems are global .... It's a give and take, everyone needs to think and work together to keep everything afloat, without losing the job, house, or kids got hungry..... Until the economy situation worldwide recovers.
Open your eyes, people... It requires probably a decade if not more, for the world to gain back considerably acceptable economical stability.
(The bloody wars don't help 😢 Those who started the wars, they are also the definition of greeds & opportunism)

    Unemployment and Wage Growth
Data has shown that unemployment rates tend to fall more under Democratic presidents, and wage growth has often been higher during Democratic administrations. Democrats typically implement policies that support labor rights, minimum wage increases, and stronger safety nets, which can boost employment and raise wages.
Republican administrations generally emphasize policies that favor business interests, including deregulation, which can create growth but may not always result in wage increases or lower unemployment.

The economy is fucked. I don’t care what the politicians say. There are jobs, but they don’t pay. If you’re in your 30’s, you’re not capable of doing what your parents did in the same positions. The wages are only slightly higher than when they were working in their 30’s but everything has sky rocketed and wages don’t match. Homes are extraordinarily expensive, food is extraordinarily expensive, vehicles are ridiculously expensive too. So people have the right to complain because at what point do “personal failings” become the fault of failed policies by our elected leaders (in the case of Kamala, appointed).

I think one of the problems is that democrats try to solve the problem at the end of the line where the problem ends. This does not fix the problem. This just results in more money, looking better in the short run but never fixing it. Republicans tend to look for the root cause and how that filters down to the undesired end result. This can feel more abstract on ground level and the fix is less immediate on ground level but it’s what’s necessary to really fix the issues. Fixing from the bottom looks better because that’s, for example, just giving money to people which they like, but it’s not a mature, effective way to understand it.

    Economic Stimulus and Intervention
Democrats are generally more supportive of economic stimulus measures during downturns, such as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 under President Obama, which helped mitigate the Great Recession’s effects.
Republicans have historically favored less government intervention in the economy, which can sometimes lead to slower responses during recessions, though this depends on specific administrations.

I think the teacher is a hypocrite for accusing and criticizing others for caring about their bottom line, while at the same time being happy that his Union makes sure that his bottom line is good. I think he cares about his bottom line more than he cares about kids. I know that my charter School children's teachers make maybe half of what he makes and they care far more for the children than he does and I can tell that just by listening to him. I can guarantee she wants to shut my kids school down. I can guarantee that he resents my daughter going to a private school on vouchers in Ohio. He cares about his bottom line first and foremost and that's all he cares about and if he can't live within his means that's his fault he is the one that's living on the taxpayers dime.

6:10 I have so many questions about this lady's statements. (1) If this dramatic economic change coincides with a particular party in taking office, should we question that party's policies? (2) If the problem is corporate greed and underpaying employees, doesn't increasing the minimum wage cause inflation? If the labor cost for corporations throughout the supply chain suddenly increases, won't that be passed on the consumer? (3) How can you both be a small business owner whose very aware of the changes in cost of materials and simultaneously say you are underpaid due to corporate greed? Maybe the small business is a side hustle but on the surface this sounds like she's the corporate in her life?

    Fiscal Policy Differences
Democratic administrations often prioritize government spending on infrastructure, education, healthcare, and social services, which can stimulate economic growth by increasing demand.
Republican administrations typically focus on reducing taxes, especially for businesses and higher-income earners, with the idea that this will spur private investment. However, the economic effects of tax cuts are mixed and can vary based on timing, structure, and external economic conditions.

    Economic Cycles and Timing
Economic performance can often be a result of broader cycles and external factors beyond the control of any single administration. Some Democratic presidents, like Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, presided over periods of economic recovery following recessions that began under their Republican predecessors.
Conversely, some Republican presidents, such as George W. Bush, took office during or just before economic downturns, which can skew economic performance statistics.

Some of these people don’t understand that there are 3 kinds of inflation. 1.) wage and price inflation. 2.) monetary inflation. 3.) asset inflation.
The lady in the green dress likely isn’t willing to admit that many decades ago there was LESS GOVERNMENT and our lives were better off. Now there is more government and life is worse off… and she and that teacher both want more government. And when corporations as they maintain incorrectly make too much profit, they don’t see that that in itself is an opportunity for a new competitor to come in and sell for less, taking business away from greedy corporations. So, they don’t want competition. They want government and unions to increase costs, give to themselves and bureaucracy and if there is anything left, redistribute it to social programs

    • @mistareee
      @mistareee 2 місяці тому

Massive profits are an incentive for new companies if there isnt predatory pricing from that big corporation. Because they can just undercut competition and sell at a loss just to eliminate competition.
So there needs to be regulation in order to make sure that doesnt happen or else it will.
Like it did with amazon selling diapers for cheaper than they bought it for, plus free shipping. They can afford to take that loss until their competition died. Which it did. That is absolutely not good for competition.

Less vs more government framework is such a reductive way to view the economy. Allowing corporations to do whatever they like with very little oversight will not lead to trickle down economics.

    • @sandymilne224

@ : to be clear, mor government is such an expansive way to look at crippling an economy. You should research Gammons Theory of Bureaucratic Displacement. That is the end result of creeping government. Nobody is suggesting zero government, but there is no need for government doing what a private citizen could do instead. Tax money is too valuable to those that need it that it’s a travesty when government departments and bureaucrats pocket cushy salaries and million dollar pensions on the backs of hard working Americans

"Why not go get a better job?" Thats such a disingenuous question. Why not go out and get more money to pay your workers what you are worth? Why are we accepting the businesses making these excuses, they are out there living better than everyone else. The business is to serve the people not the other way around.

Anyone who claims to be an activist, influencer or content creator should get an automatic dismissal. They aren't serious people and do not come from a perspective that represents the general public. Notice she said that she believes she's living the American dream, but was the most negative voice on the panel? She had nothing positive to say, yet contributes the least to society among everyone on the panel. She's among an emerging majority of people who are really great at identifying problems, while offering no real viable solutions or a willingness to participate in a solution.
