This is the episode fans of Roadkill and Mighty Car Mods have been demanding for two years! It’s also a bonus episode of Roadkill powered by Dodge-the 13th installment of the 2016 season! David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan finally got together with Marty and Moog of Mighty Car Mods, Australia’s most popular UA-cam show for gearheads. The four guys came to an agreement: RK would build the most American car possible for the MCM blokes, and then Marty and Moog would assemble an absurd icon of Mighty Modding for the Roadkill boys. Both teams gave all: Roadkill jammed together a 1969 Chevy Impala stuffed with the supercharged, 489ci big-block Chevy that was formerly in the Crusher Camaro; and Mighty Car Mods hacked the Subarute out of a hapless turbo WRX. There’s no way to imagine the fun that explodes across the language barrier when these four get together for some killer burnouts and mad skids!

Finnegan's joke about wearing a Haz-mat suit while driving the Impala was close to the truth. They cleaned out something like twenty pounds of rat turds from under the rear seat long after this Roadkill was made. You imagine the odour inside the Impala.

Glad to see these videos back on UA-cam. Although the impala was total roadkill, I felt the guys could have done much better. The idea was perfect but the execution was poor. I think they felt bad themselves when seeing how much the Ausie guys put in to their car
Putting a new engine and trans in a car is harder than cutting the roof off a Subaru and sticking the turbo out the hood/bonnet
That was kinda the point though, it was supposed to be sketchy and slapdash. The more major issues like not having an alternator was just bad luck and not enough time to get parts.

Glen Melancon my picture is from a decade ago of a stock Saleen mustang. However since you brought it up, how about 500 hp with modified drivetrain and suspension. Much better option. You can't deny the the Aussies put way more effort in and had a much better product in the same time frame. This episode makes me think that roadkill isn't as good as I thought it was

As long as the vehicle was manufactured with no seat belts, then none are needed. As far as the no headlights, that probably depends on how nice the police are. And most cities have noise regulations, so both the subarute and the impala are exceptionally too loud...
Ali D engine modifications are restricted to smog but they pass you if you know the person whos testing. My cars too loud, would never pass smog, so youre not too far off

It probably had a mechanical fuel pump driven off the original engine. In the interests of time and speed they make the parking lights their ignition source.

does anyone realize that mcm had 4 extra specialized guys, a lift, more tool options, and a shop to do build a car in? road kill had like always, a parking lot, 2 people total, and a box of what appeared to be borrowed tools. MCM kept with their typical fashion, and road kill stuck with their halfass roadkill work. each side did their thing as agreed and it was an awesome mash up.

I'd agree, but they do generally at least do a bullshit last minute awesome thrash on the car IN THEIR EMPLOYER'S GARAGE. They could at least have done the same exact thing on those premises lol. In all seriousness I agree that it's typical Roadkill v. typical MCM.

RoadKill - I think you guys represented RoadKill perfectly! The epic-ness of the zip-tied, sketchy, completely inappropriate level of parking lot engineering is what makes watching RoadKill awesome! WHEN (not IF) you go down under, I'd like the challenge to be saving a car from a wrecking yard and making it awesome (or Ma-a-a-a-d!). Probably too much to expect 1970s era cars laying around for cheap in AU, but if you can find an old 1970 Holden Monaro (coupe) or Belmont (ute). It's about as close to American as possible and still be truly Australian. Alternates are the Chrysler Valiant Charger (pre-Mitsubishi) or the Ford Falcon from the same era. (Saving one from a wrecker would also completely play up to the "greener" sensibilities of the blokes from MCM and possibly convert a few JDM guys in the process.)

There's heaps of Falcons over here man. Not so many of the early models that you mean, but we kept making Falcons up until earlier this year...

manual steering + welded rear end isnt gonna turn for shit on the auto course tho
MrFunnyMonkey that would be a mistake. a welded rear end and new tires would make the weakest link in the chain their transmission, which is relatively stock. increase the traction and it'd probably fry the clutch discs.
turbo 400 will last all day, even stock
The stock turbo 400 is RELIABLE at around 450lbft. This big block is making a lot more than that. If the torque converter is a lockup-type, it could very easily lunch the clutches or break the sun gear.
That monster no joke has the best sounding exhaust note ever. I cant wait to build mine in the process of that now.
This episode is seriously the only reason I went out and traded my 83 LTD for a 69 Impala. Mine's even the same rusty blue, but a four door with a 327. Greatest car I've had in a long time.
I sort of half expected (but hoped against) this being kinda awkward and cringey, but holy cow these four guys actually have some chemistry.

the cars to really look at for first time is the rotsun... datsun with a Chevy 3.4 v6 with a turbo from a Ford diesel. nascarlo. and stubby Bob. and anything with the muscle truck

Moods also make all (most atleast) music in their main channel episodes to!
However, they flew from Australia just for this episode, witch mean you probably gonna have the extra energy in their brain to put more effort and will into it. Not a daily RK fan but they sure did a very great job to, i would have wanted abit more scenes from the swap/building sceenes. But that maybe aint their style and then i accept that!
