Opportunity to make something original that you guys truly enjoy...it's happening to every show or channel. I am from a country that's actually impossible to watch despite UA-cam. You guys have to keep going please
Hey Dave, We appreciate the kind words. You've well and truly earned your stripes in your career. It's great to see the audience following you wherever you end up and working with you guys remains as one of the highlights for us. We're still making videos for one reason and one reason only: we REALLY enjoy it! Hanging out with your mates, spannering on cars and having adventures is the dream. I know it's the same for you and while we all often have to navigate the realities of corporates and incomes and paying for all of it, I think you're bang on with this whole video and it speaks volumes about your character and skill.
You guys are keeping the car culture alive! In Australia and for the Roadkill etc family here in the states, it's always been about the cool things you can do with cars, and doing it with your friends and family, I can't say thanks enough!
My Dad passed from cancer back in July. We spent some long days in the hospital watching whole seasons at a time. Roadkill and all the spinoff shows are forever goated in my book. Thank you for all the years of entertainment and inspiration. Also, my dad got a huge kick out of the stubby bob episodes!
I see your dad was a man of taste lol stubby bob was some of my favorite episodes also! I'm sorry for your loss, I bet money he enjoyed those binge seasons more than you know and it meant a lot to him you being there in the hospital I guarantee you. What don't kill you makes you stronger so be sure to be there as much as you can for your kids and be the best that you can be. Loss of a loved one sucks big time but u come out of it stronger and with more appreciation for relationships u still have!!! God will never give you more than you can handle.
So it’s the end of an era. But wow! What an accomplishment! We have an opening for a Driver at my Off-Road games in March. If you bring Dulcich, we’ve got an opening for him too. If anybody would like to see Freiberger and Dulcich Drive jalopy Jeeps up a trail That they have no business being on, leave a comment.
David, My name is Mark and I am just a nobody. I have been watching you for what seems like forever, I would say like 13 years. You are family to me. The last few years I have been dealing with cancer. You and Mike have gotten me through some pretty tough times. I would watch episodes while doing my chemo treatments and laugh at your antics. Your shows seemed to make it bearable. I just wanted to say thank you for all the good times.
You don't need MotorTrend. You are bigger than they are at this point. Concentrate on UA-cam and do your own thing. We don't care about production quality as much as content quality.
@@GregHuston You don't think they could have opted out of lucrative contracts years ago to do UA-cam on their own dime? Obviously Finnegan has had a channel for years and Freiburger as well. Company funded everything and only had to work a week a month since Mike moved vs grinding for content to make a UA-cam video weekly or biweekly like everyone else does. I'm sure Freiburger was content to keep the steady paycheck over the risk until now
I just want to say thank you to you and Finnegan. I'm a 50 yo female with 3 now adult daughters. We all started watching Roadkill years ago. Watching you guys and similar shows inspired our daughters to learn about cars. I was never more proud than when our girls announced they wanted tools for holiday gifts and then went on to learn to maintain their vehicles and use those tools. All of that was inspired by the entertainment and antics of Roadkill. I still find myself pausing and asking my husband what something means, learning more about how things work than I'd have learned otherwise. So thank you for the entertainment and the education and for inspiring my girls to take care of their cars themselves, thus not having to be at the mercy of others. It's a special kind of freedom when you know how to fix your own car. Best of luck in what you're doing. Whoever you guys end up, we will be following.
“Don’t get it right, just get it running” is a quote that I live by to this day. Freiburger and Finnigan is the greatest duo to ever grace UA-cam in my opinion.
Same thing with the new “Big Time” channel with two of the Donut guys striking out on their own thing. People don’t care about the platform, they care about the personalities and the content.
Got a little choked up at 23 minutes. One of my best friends introduced me to your channel 10 years ago. I have loved every second. It was the rest from a weary job, mental relaxation from daily life struggle and humor when I needed it most. Thank you so much for your years of dedication and generosity and sharing your experiences and wealth of knowledge. Forever grateful.
It’s all on Disney +. MTODwas a waste of money, 80% of it was European racing series nobody watched. There were like 5 good shows, meaning 5 episodes a month for $15, $3 per show. No thanks.
@@91CTD as bad as discovery is about actually telling us when seasons come out, i bet they milk it hard to release the stuff they have left so people stay subscribed, i canceled mine earlier this year, just wait a few months, pay for a month and watch whatever new has come out in that time
You guys should migrate out of California and fire up in Tennessee! Much love you guys. I'm not a Mopar guy but I have a new appreciation for them thanks to you and Dulcich. I appreciate your candor sir
The Powerblock back in the day had to be the starters of automotive TV in Tennessee. They still make new shows as Powernation now and most of the former hosts have youtubes as well
I was 13 when I discovered roadkill. I’m 23 now. When I was 17 me and my father would watch every episode over and over and learn from u guys. It inspired us to restore my dad’s 1966 Buick wildcat. Long story short. My father has passed. And that wildcat sits in my garage. And not a day goes by that i don’t thank roadkill for inspiring us to rebuild that car.
I feel I speak for thousands of people when I say, thank you. From the bottom of my heart for 13 years of amazing automotive based entertainment. RK, RKG, engine masters etc gave a gateway so to speak into the car world for so many people. I look forward to seeing more of your as well as the other hosts content here on UA-cam. Keep rocking on!
I was gonna say “someone watches peg” but I didn’t see that it was the the legend himself. I knew you were big into the USA stuff but didn’t realize you watched this stuff. On a different foot, your content is really minty and you inspired me to get my 83’ idi and 97’ 7.3
I've watched you guys since episode 1 went live. I lived in a ran down duplex with my then girlfriend. Now I've been an RN for a long time, married, 7 year old daughter who I had a blast restoring my 1972 nova with. thanks guys.
I'm 60 years old and don't have anybody in my life that can relate to my love for cars and motorcycles and all things mechanical. you're like an extended family and friend . many people have mentioned Mental Health and I would say I'm in that category also. it's important for you to know that you have helped people more than you could ever imagine. it's not just car stuff it's the camaraderie that you experience while you're working with your friends that's the secret sauce that makes everything you do different from the rest. I've had many chapters in my life closed and the new ones always open up and I'm sure the new chapters in your life that will open up will be fantastic and will be sitting here waiting to watch them on UA-cam
Freiburger, Finnegan, and Brule, made me who I am today. I discovered Roadkill when I was 12 years old. I am 24 now and my entirely life has been positively affected with knowledge and vicariously adorned “experience” in the car world. These shows gave me a tremendous boost in understanding everything from engine tech to suspension, troubleshooting and hotrod tricks. I’m so lucky to have been around for this journey. ❤
The one thing, and the BEST thing, that set RoadKill apart was that you could EASILY tell that Freiburger and Finnegan and Dulcich were all REAL FRIENDS. None of that phony "wrench throwing" and bleeping every other word just to have some phony "drama" for the cameras.... Even as a DIE HARD Mopar guy, I cannot stomach the likes of Graveyard Carz and their sponsor-name-dropping every other sentence, and cussing & bleeping every OTHER sentence... My wife and I LOVED the show and will continue to follow along on UA-cam or wherever you're sending video content from.
I am a 47 year old man and I am just sitting here crying. Your shows helped me realize there was so much more I could still do with my life after I lost my right leg 4 years ago.
In my opinion Dave, when they cancelled Dirt Everyday, that was the beginning of the end. I hope all of you guys continue on UA-cam. I would love for you guys to continue doing shows like Dirt Everyday, Roadkill, Roadkill Garage etc. I'm sure everyone agrees.
Absolutely my favorite show as well. I really hope this can be a rebirth of roadkill with freiburger and steve. Ive been watching since the very beginning and this hurts to hear.
My son and I stopped by Dulcichs' house on the way to Famoso a couple of years ago. We were in my '66 Carryall (Dad bought it new) that we just thrashed on for the trip from Pacifica. It was a thrill just to see the "magic place" seen so many times on the show. Roadkill road trip with my son to a drag race (March Meet) . Thanks for the inspiration guys.
Rarely looked more forward to when the episodes of Roadkill came out… Those amazing projects and giving life back to lost treasures… Being a 50 year old singel father of 2 lovely kids and real estate agent in Norway, watching your shows for years, it gave me hour upon hour of truly needed mental GOLD. Helping coping in life in general. We all have uphill strugles in our lives, no matter what you do, so thank you so much for many years of smiles, laughter and epic epsisodes.. means a lot that you all gave so much of your own lives to entertain us all. You gave me a more adventures look on life motor/car wise and made me buy my first 67 mustang and 76 Trans am. Memories for life and owe it all to you…
Roadkill inspired me to finally swap my V6 truck to a small block. I rode my motorcycle about two hours away, bought a donor truck, loaded the bike in the bed, and drove it all home. I literally would not have done it without inspiration from Roadkill. Thank you
Thats badass I want something with two wheels lol. You ever back up the truck to a small hill and just drive it in lol? That’s how we loaded my buddies busa in his dads gmt800 🤣🤣
Roadkill is an overwhelming hit. While businesses have their own metrics, its Freiburger and Finnegan that made Roadkill what it is. They are the true value of the beast
Greetings from Namibia. I have 2 classic trucks. One is named Dulchich and the other Freiburger. Thanks for 13 years of the best shows known to mankind.
David: you, Dulcich, Finnegan, Péwé, Chapelle, Fred, Brulé, Lucky, Tony, Alex, and the others who joined you along the way are the real deal. The last 13 years have been a blast with you all, and the return to UA-cam will surely be just as fun. Thank you for all you've done for our community: you brought car content back to its roots and brought the voice of true fans to light. You gave us what we wanted. Real, raw, down-to-earth fun driven by two things: our love of cars and our love of the people we've met because of them. Again, thank you.
I'm an old guy that has watched you from the start. Thank you for giving us "permission" to drive cars that aren't perfect. You have brought so many cars out of storage. Cars with histories and that have been used and loved. That is what hot rodding is about. You and all the other host's have inspired so many to live their dreams. Thank you again. Good luck and godspeed. I will be watching.
This right here is what got me out of a rut and got me on my passion. The “permission” to actually be apart of the car community as a whole with something that you love and just got running instead of getting perfect is what got me where I am. I swapped a 6.9 idi and zf5 into a 75 highboy and although it was never perfect it was still amazing and got me hooked on “hot rodding”.
Same here. Hot rodding is in my blood. But back in the day, people didn't give much respect to hot-rodded beater cars. We were the red-headed stepchildren of the car community. When Roadkill hit the scene, that all changed. And I am so thankful!
I'm not ready for this man. This sucks so bad. I'm sorry for all of you great creators. Dammit. These shows got me through some really bad times. Y'all feel like family I never got to meet. I'm still staying tuned to D/F, VGG, Finnegan's garage, Dirt Head Dave on the UA-cam's. Y'all are my heroes. I'll watch the remaining episodes to be sure.
I found Roadkill about 3 episodes in....I watched you guys every chance I could. Fast forward to 2017. My wife left me. I lost my house. I had to sell my 46 CJ-2A and my daily driver Corvair. My dog died. I was homeless, broke, and alone. Roadkill was my distraction. Thank you Mr. Freiburger.
Man that's a rough story. Don't give in to the black dog, keep that chin up. If you survived all of that, my friend, you're unstoppable. Stay minty as mate. Kudos and much respect from across the pond. 👌
With every end is a new beginning - here's hoping this is a fresh start for a new chapter, you know there's millions of us supporting whatever you do next!
You and your cronies have given me so many great laughs and carried me through my recovery from my cycle tangling with 96 yr old driving without insurance his new Tundra. Thanks for all the good times and look forward to anything and everything coming from you dragslicks!
Hi my name is Mike. I have been my mothers stay at home caregiver for the last 6 years. Since her passing 2 months ago I have been lost and spinning out of control. You`re shows have been the only thing that has worked to take my mind away from the grieving. If only for a short time I can pretend all is right and forget the tragedy. Thank you for what you and friends have done for me, I cant thank you enough. God bless.
Mike, I went through the same thing. Took care of my Mom for 8 years. Her death tore my life to shreds. I was lost for years after. Too many years. What I have learned is this... Love her, carry her memory in your heart, say hello when she appears in your dreams, but know that it would never be her desire for her son to be harmed by the gift of care he had given her. You did the right thing. Sometimes doing the right thing comes at a high cost. The best way now to honor and love your Mom is put yourself back together and gather a good life to yourself. You deserve it and you've earned it and she would want it for you. Knowing and accepting that is the first step towards getting there. God bless and guide your healing.
Roadkill literally is one of the main reasons that I even got into older cars whatsoever, my first car being a Ford Cortina that i still own (Never ending project). I really hope you realise the HUGE influence you've had on the "new" generation of car guys and we thank all of you for it, looking forward to see what the future holds!
@coltonnorris9865 its very much a base model, 1963 Consul Cortina but its rather heavily modified😅 Inline 5 Turbo engine, BMW trans, rollcage, volvo front and rear axles etc😉
I drove a Green 2 door 73 Cortina when I was stationed in Germany from 90-92, it was a "Battalion car", I bought it from someone in the battalion who bought it from someone in the battalion who bought it from someone in the Battalion and so on, I sold it to another soldier in the battalion when I left. Good car to start with.
I was diagnosed in 2017 with cancer, Roadkill was my entertainment. The only thing I could get was youtube and roadkill was the greatest. I appreciate the "break for my brain" I was in and out of the hospital for 6 months and watched every episode. Thank you for all the fun times.
“Don’t make it perfect just get it running” this quote from Freiburger really inspired me to do what I’m doing with my project, which is converting a 2 wheel drive 78 Chevy suburban to a 4x4 78 Chevy suburban. I’ve always worked on old square bodies and never finished them because I was always striving for perfection. I have learned so much from roadkill garage with David and Steve that I never would’ve learned otherwise, also engine masters has taught me a lot also and I’m very grateful for what you guys have put together and done for the past 13 years. You all are a group of awesome guys, from our family to y’all’s sending love and support.
At the 22 min mark you mention something I'd like to thank you for. I was 25 when you were at Car Craft and your work there was as much validation for regular guys as it was inspiration. My friends and I all had some sort of half done hoopties and Hot Rod was nothing but pro street, $100k rides that none of us would ever build because at that time you could buy a house for that. We needed houses. You came along and the attitude changed from admiring the unobtainable to enjoying the imperfect ride you have because it's still cooler than a civic. Articles with builds from normal people, testing parts that were a good bang for the buck, etc. It put the fun back in to the habit. Thanks for that.
Dave, Mike, you guys helped pull me through a tough time in my life by bringing so much joy and laughter watching yall. "Dont get it right, get it running" has become my mantra when I swapped my C10 and whenever I run into tough problems in life. I cant wait to see what the future holds. Always gonna support you guys
David, it’s not often that we get answers about cancellations of our favorite shows. And certainly not a look back and explanations. Your history lessons, road trips, and content like this is what will keep me watching. Thank you.
We hear the genuine emotion in your voice, Dave. You worked so hard to make these shows be as great as they are. And, you worked with a lot of great partners along the way. Mike, Steve, Tony, Fred, Dave, Lucky, Alex, and the list goes on...
Thank you Freiburger. I can honestly say that I have watched at least one of the different Motor Trend shows or hosts every single day over the last 10 years. It has meant so much to me to know that when I am having a bad day, I could tune into one the shows and my day would get better. Continued success, and growth into the future. I will be watching your show faithfully, and appreciatively! God's blessings sir!
@@TheDavidFreiburger Maybe not every day, but my girlfriend could attest that nearly everyday MTOD has been running in our house either while I actively watch, or as background noise since I subscribed back around episode 30 or so. I'm sure I'm not the only one who uses these shows to help motivate myself to get out in the shop and work on my projects. Loved meeting you and the others who were in Tucson for the Duct Tap Drags in September!
I have zero interest in cars these days, my idea of hell is having to work on a car again (used to have to, rather than want to), but somehow the whole authenticity of what you (all of you) have created is so indescribably wonderful! Just want to say thank you.
I'm in New Zealand and watched every one of those Roadkill episodes on UA-cam. The Lowrider Monte Carlo episode was hilarious. There were so many great characters in the Motortrend shows, and I still follow a lot of them. Your recent UA-cam content has been great. Love the road trips and seeing small town America.
We need Fred Williams to pop up here on UA-cam with the DED series. Dirthead Dave is everywhere plus his channel.. Fantastic concepts. Meeting Mike and David at Baker's of Milford Sunday car cruise was a fantastic day for us. Bonus was meeting Reilly Stevens doing camera stuff. The car community is all about the love and driving these cars and trucks.
Watching you guys on all your shows were a great escape from the troubles of the world. Just a good half hour or hour out of our lives where we could just enjoy watching you guys have a good time and even learn a thing or two. Thank all of you for all of the years of fun television. I love watching videos on UA-cam so I will be looking for you there. God bless all of you.
I'm sad to hear that the show died, I've been watching for at least 10+ years. But I already follow everyone on YT and social media so I know the content will continue. Thank you to the whole crew and production team for 13 years!
David and Mike, I never thought I’d say this in public but when I lost my father I was 50 years old. He was my best friend. We rebuilt and restored cars together. Watching you two together being buddies, experiencing breakdowns, blowups, and triumphs while never losing your sense of humor kept me sane and managed to put a smile on my face helping me get through the toughest period of my life. After spending so much time watching y’all during that period, it almost feels like you two are long lost family. Thank you for every minute of the ride. I doubt you realize how important your lives can be to others. You helped me get back to living. As Mike said, this isn’t goodbye, it’s see you later. Whatever you guys do going forward, I’ll be there to watch it. Thank you. 🙏
Mr. Homeless Dave, your dedication to the craft of hot rodding is unparalleled. From print magazine to streaming footage of you doing astoundingly cool, yet home grown and sketchy stuff with old cars has been absolutely amazing. When I was younger I always wanted shows like Roadkill/ Roadkill Garage/ Hot Rod Garage etc. etc. But as an adult I kept rewatching your videos and eventually followed my passion of cars. I have since worked for private car collections that showed at Concorse level events, vintage Trans Am racing teams, started my own company working on classic cars and have ended up in a very cool place in the Monterey California car industry. And since I dedicated myself to my automotive journey I did it in a 1967 Ford F100 FE 390. Without the thousands of hours of knowledge I would have never been able to do any of that. Thank you for all the HotRod content, but I will always continue to watch whatever you have to teach us. Thank you again.
Roadkill got me inspired as a teenager over a decade ago to not be afraid of getting into the car hobby and I don’t know how to correctly write how much the show has meant to me since then but I’m so appreciative of you and everyone else and I’ll be keeping up with what all of you do in the future
Over the last 10 years ive brought a rusty GS400, a 67 camaro sight unseen while i was deployed in iraq (shiped it to my parents house), and a 300k mile landcruiser on a whim. Im now 27 livin the dream and i owe all the inspiration to you and the roadkill universe, Thanks David.
Man started watching Roadkill with my dad, and now i watch it with my kids. I'm so bummed that it's done. But stoked that you and Finnegan have your own channels.
They should hook up with Sick the Mag.& Get a couple of Killer sponsors(Summit,O'Rielly's,etc. They could still start up another cable show, but try to keep out all the Drama(Street Outlaws,etc.).The Home Grown shows are where it's at & can be achieved!!!!.They don't really have to worry about an Audience because they had it Then,Now,& Always will.I just hope they can pull things together & have the Ultimate Gear Head Channel and that is run by people in T-shirts & Not Suits!!!!.
Roadkill Garage was the best automotive show ever created. You and Steve have a brotherly connection and an uncanny ability to communicate that rivals telepathy. The two of you are phenomenal writers and your combined abilities as word-smiths made every show an absolute delight. I need more of the Freiburger/ Dulcich magic in my life so please do more collaboration with him in the future. You guys are treasured legends. Thank you for everything.
You have been an absolute wealth of knowledge and experience that all who've watched have benefited from. Entertainment and information is a fine balance and you've done an amazing job of it. Thanks and I'll definitely continue to watch everything that comes along. Best of luck!
Thank you David, Mike, Tony, Lucky, Alex, Steve and everyone in front of and behind the camera who brought so much entertainment, information and enthusiasm. It was a hell of a great time. Long may you run.
It was the first time I ever participated in a Go Fund Me. When I saw Steve selling off his possessions and home so he could pay for this medical bills, I just couldn't stand by and not participate in that fan funded initiative. One guy who without a doubt deserved the help.
Dave, I don’t know if you read all these comments, but I can honestly say that roadkill, engine masters and roadkill garage has been an unbelievable inspiration and source of learning for me and my mopar family. From the bottom of my heart to you, Dulcich and Mike, thank you. My dad, brother and I have Mopar Wednesday in my shop every week. Brought my brothers ‘72 duster, 360, 4 speed out of a turkey barn and fixed everything on that car…. Finished my 91 Dakota, 340 (the 418 stroker that engine masters built 4:10 (full trickflow setup)..11:15 @ 120mph. I could go on and on…thank you for the laughs, the information, and for giving us mopar guys some attention. Forever indebted. Chris Appleton from Ontario Canada
Get a hot rod ! It's never too late. If you've been watching, these guys show you it's about the journey, learning and fun without the cubic dollars. Hell if that doesn't fit try models. Great fun and you can build any cool thing you want.
From New Years Eve to the end of March, I was with my son in a children’s hospital 5 hours from home. While my wife worked on her laptop, I held my 4 month old son keeping him comfortable while he was hooked to all sorts of tubes and wires. After dozens of tests, we finally discovered he is one of five children known in the world with an unknown, unnamed genetic disorder. He is on a feeding tube and may never walk or talk. You guys helped me get through that incredibly difficult time. We’d watch those early episodes over and over. And continue to watch them and everything you’ve done since to this day. I can’t thank you enough for being on our screens. We hope to hang out with you guys at one of your events someday.
I stumbled upon the rat rod jeep episode about a month after it came out and have been watching ever since. Thank you for the years of great content. Looking forward to what you, Finnegan, and the rest of your squad have in store for us!
David & everyone at MT, Roadkill and all the shows have changed my life. Recovering from an enormous injury, I found RK and started on my journey to be a car guy. I've since rebuilt engines, resurrected scrapyard cars, driven on Bonneville Salt, and inspired my kids with my passion for adventure and repair. Alex and Roadkill inspired my daughter tp start her own channel ("Rainbow Wheels") and I am grateful for that above all else. I never thought a TV show could change my life, but here we are. Thanks for everything. Im excited to see more of you all.
Thank you for everything. At 56 yrs old, i noticed i had lost the passion for alot of things that made me me. I have passion for spending time with my soon to be 81 yr old father who is like a young man working on his 67 442. Thank you again.
You guys are legends. Have inspired millions, have given back so much for being genuine and sharing your lives with us. We are forever grateful for what you have given to us and inspired multi generations. There is more we just know it but know this. What you have given to this world is imesurable in how we can return it to you. Thank-you!!!❤
David, you can start or do anything you desire, truly. Your gearhead fillowing will have your back wothout a doubt. This will be your "first, best day at work ever", your own. No fear, just pick something to do and lets us know, we got you Brother. God Bless at God's Speed Clint
Mr. Freiburger it's US out here in the starter fluid that owe you, Mike, Steve and the rest the big thank you. You are edu-tainers. We learn, we are entertained, we are motivated, we feel like we not alone with our wrenching hobbies, our love of old rusty metal. To the behind the scenes team thank you for being willing to be servant leaders. its' beyond rare and it's what kept us coming back vs. the over produced nonsense that normally gets shoved in our face. You rock man thank you and we really hope to see you again!
I was a late comer to your shows. I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer a year ago and I do nothing now but watch videos and tv. Yours became my favorite and I’m really going to miss them. Thanks for everything, you guys have been a blessing!
I knew it. Sad really. Roadkill introduced me to the world of automotive youtube. I love your channel and you don't need MT. You are unshackled and free to make the content that you and the rest of us want to see. I for one will support you fully.
The two of you got me through chemo watching all the misadventures of automotive shenanigans. You influenced me to build a coyote swapped whipple charged six speed 1966 ford galaxie. Signed up for my third drag and drive in a year. Just drove it from Northern Illinois to vegas and back...5200 miles of amazing memories for me and the wife...and 7.50 8th mile 6 tracks...sick 66.. while doing it.thank you david Mike and Steve for countless inspiration
Thank you so much. Back in 2015 I became a single dad and work had and has me living in the desert in Dubai. My 1986 F150 sat for years and reaching for perfection resulted only is stress and time wasted. So I took your words to heart and worked with my little boy to get it good enough. It’s still going years later, we’ve broken down numerous times and laugh about it all the time. So many memories for me with my boy through a sad stage in our life. So thank you. I’m sure you’ll do amazing things in the future and I’ll be watching.
With heavy heart and hat off I say thank you. I have watched since the beginning and never once strayed away. So Thank you all again because it's been one HELL of a ride. So glasses 🥂 up for David and Mike and all involved. Because we all will be forever, ROADKILL.
I just want to thank you for igniting the love of automobiles in a high school screw up back in the late 90's. I have vivid memories of getting in trouble for reading car craft, hot rod, 4wheel and off road, etc in class. You truly were a role model, and still are. It always come down to the fact that the greatest thing about this hobby is the people you meet along the way, and you helped me realize that. And now, I'm a 46 year old professional mechanic, who hopes to build custom hot rods, heavily inspired by those same magazines that had teachers saying I'd never amount to anything. Thank you for over 30 years of inspiration, can't wait to see what the future holds.
I watch your video, I am 68, old school mechanic. I watch all your Roadkill reruns, with my 17 month old grandson. Playing with cars, tractors. Passing it down, keep it up, God's Blessings to the whole team.
I watched the first episode of Roadkill when it launched on UA-cam. After that I jumped on eBay, bought a car for 80€, did a roadtrip with a guy I knew from school and we ended up becoming really good friends. Thank you for the inspiration!
I started watching roadkill when I was 12. Little 12 year old me, 13 years ago, found the first season of roadkill when it was the only season of roadkill. The donor truck that was too clean to cut up, when trying to big block swap general mayhem, was the truck that got me into tin grill dodges. I’ll be 26 years old next year, and will forever be working on cars that are older than I am, putting parts on that are way too nice for them. Through roadkill I’ve met friends that I will have for years to come, and made memories I’ll have forever. And for that, I thank you.
You are the audience they had. By switching to MT they ruined RoadKill for a lot of kids and adults. Hopefully they can get back to the original style of RK.
@ “they” didnt do anything. The company did. I’m sure they meaning David and Mike will still be doing things in the car content world, and I hope they make their own version of roadkill. But I also understand if they take this as a sign to pursue different things
Thanks for giving the "best hot rod channel on UA-cam. MCM (Mighty Car mods) a shout out at the 13:30 mark. I've watched those guys for ever and admire the fact they NEVER sold themselves out to any big corporation.....
Im grateful that I can still see you guys on the old interweb. David, I am liking your gratitude, and you're not bitter about this. Thank you for your shows, and everyone who made it possible
I am just in awe at the level of support in this comment section, not only for Freiburger and the MT hosts, but for fellow viewers. Roadkill has brought together such an amazing community.
I have no reason to watch motortrend or discovery anymore, knowing they canceled all the shows I watch. Thanks for saving me from having to pay a $10 a month membership fee. I'll be watching YOUR channel from this point forward. I will always be a fan.
Classy move thanking the huge number of people behind the scenes who made all these shows a success. They are just as impacted by this and deserve recognition for all the years of hard work. Thank you (and all the other hosts) for years of great entertainment. I look forward to all the great youtube content yet to come. Best regards.
All of you guys are great together and that was the reason I started watching Road Kill. I was just fun to see it didn't need to be perfect to have fun. Then to see things breaking that's real life. You showed don't fret fix it. Thanks again and I will do my best to keep up with your utube.
Thank you David! You helped get so many more people into classics! And inspired people to just drive their junk, instead of waiting for it it be “perfect”
My son and I watched your early roadkill shows together. We met Finnegan and Lucky in NC. I thanked Finnegan for teaching my boy to swear. He sheepishly said "we really didn't think anyone was watching back then". Thank you all for the shows. Great stuff.
David I hear in your voice the hurt , chin up you and the boys still have US , hoping the best and I can't wait for your next project , I think I can speak for all of us WE LOVE YOU GUYS
Mr Frieburger I been here since the beginning n just wanted to say THANK YOU. Thanks for sharing your adventures n knowledge with us. I will continue to follow you on UA-cam.
Man I just came her to say thank you. I’m 26, and I’ve been watching since I was a freshman in high school. Roadkill was a huge influence in my life. In September my dad and I went on our first drag and drive, and you can trace my interest in that all the way back to the drag week roadkill episode back in like 2013. I’ve had my car (74 Dart Sport) since about that same time, and the car is probably responsible for my career as an engineer, and my career is responsible for the life I’m able to live. Obviously that doesn’t all come back to just one show on UA-cam, but it 100% was a part of it. That show is a part of the person I am today. So thank you David. It’s been a pleasure to watch the show, and it’s been a pleasure to meet you a few times over the years. Thank you for everything.
This is not the end. This is see ya later. We got this, dude. :)
Many chapters in life. Just need the courage to turn the page.
Best comment ever
Opportunity to make something original that you guys truly enjoy...it's happening to every show or channel. I am from a country that's actually impossible to watch despite UA-cam.
You guys have to keep going please
Yell yea!
Given your fame I don't think you are going to have a problem starting something similar. Immediate sucess.
Why did MCM and Roadkill not do another collaboration? First one seemed to do so well.
Well said!
You guys are keeping the car culture alive! In Australia and for the Roadkill etc family here in the states, it's always been about the cool things you can do with cars, and doing it with your friends and family, I can't say thanks enough!
Hello from one of your 43 vieewers
😅 “spannering” is a great word!
As far as I'm concerned anything you two do is Roadkill and this won't be the end! Honored to be a small part of this story.
don't worry, your fans will follow you and the boys into the fires of HELL! 1 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS AND BEYOND!
Always loved your content with Road Kill and particularly Finnegan, we won't ever forget you bench pressing the trans into Blasphemi.
@StayTunedTA, really enjoying Stay Tuned, great team you have there and great content you are creating. Keep on keeping on man!
Thank you for everything you did, and continue to do.
You all are what made the new generation of popular car shows. Keep it coming.

David,
My name is Mark and I am just a nobody.
Thanks very much for telling us, and best wishes for 100%
Mark, I wish you a full recovery. We love ya buddy.
Mark, Lifelong car guy here, also a survivor of cancer 4X. Keep fighting and keep your faith. Prayers to you and family.
You're never a nobody my friend, you are extremely important to those around you, and were all brothers and sisters. Best of luck to you!
Mark, nobody is a nobody don't ever let yourself feel that way. Good luck to you on your journey.
You don't need MotorTrend. You are bigger than they are at this point. Concentrate on UA-cam and do your own thing. We don't care about production quality as much as content quality.
They should've stayed on UA-cam to begin with maybe we'd still have roadkill on
@@justinhagadus1980 did you even listen to Dave? It wasn't his choice.
@@GregHustondon’t believe too much of it🤷♂️
This!
PLEASE PLEASE keep doing RKG with Dulcich on You Tube. Best thing you’ll ever do/best chemistry.
100 % agreed.
They can’t legally call it RKG but can rebrand it as a different show on UA-cam
@@cs5250 They can copyright the initials RK ?
Totally agree
Dulcheck has a dyno now, you know. ;-)
“Don’t get it right, just get it running” is a quote that I live by to this day. Freiburger and Finnigan is the greatest duo to ever grace UA-cam in my opinion.
All the roadkill-isms like that one have legitimately changed the approach to cars and car enthusiasts as a whole. Straight up legendary shit.
That’s how I roll with my cars
I think it pays to remember this. Sometimes I want to get my car 'perfect' but the fact it's running and going well is more than good enough.
Say it ain't so
Truth. That quote has saved my ass a few times out on the trail with my old Jeeps.
When Top Gear ended, the Grand Tour started, and it was the greatest. You guys got this, the fans never left.
Well said!
With grand tour coming to an end there is a hole to fill
Agree with the above. Fans of Roadkill will just change the channel and follow the folks that we enjoy watching.
Same thing with the new “Big Time” channel with two of the Donut guys striking out on their own thing. People don’t care about the platform, they care about the personalities and the content.
a Roadkill/Grand Tour crossover would be epic..
i bet Hammond would totally be up for it, at the very least.
Looks like I can cancel my motortrend app subscription...
100% discovery doesn’t have fuck all else
Still need it to watch season 3 of roadworthy rescues in 2 weeks and watch the rest of roadkill
I've been watching Roadkill on Max
It’s all on Disney +. MTODwas a waste of money, 80% of it was European racing series nobody watched. There were like 5 good shows, meaning 5 episodes a month for $15, $3 per show. No thanks.
@@91CTD as bad as discovery is about actually telling us when seasons come out, i bet they milk it hard to release the stuff they have left so people stay subscribed, i canceled mine earlier this year, just wait a few months, pay for a month and watch whatever new has come out in that time
We’d love to watch some more of you and Dulcich and this channel.

And not a day goes by that i don’t thank roadkill for inspiring us to rebuild that car.

it's important for you to know that you have helped people more than you could ever imagine.
it's not just car stuff it's the camaraderie that you experience while you're working with your friends that's the secret sauce that makes everything you do different from the rest. ❤
That is awesome💯
It's great to hear these guys continue to inspire young people to engage in this hobby.
Thank you for making my childhood. You and Finnegan were the reason I gained a passion for cars. Excited for what’s next.
That’s just the best, thanks for posting
We appreciate it, thank you
I am a 47 year old man and I am just sitting here crying. Your shows helped me realize there was so much more I could still do with my life after I lost my right leg 4 years ago.

Roadkill inspired me to finally swap my V6 truck to a small block. I rode my motorcycle about two hours away, bought a donor truck, loaded the bike in the bed, and drove it all home. I literally would not have done it without inspiration from Roadkill.

100% this. Showing how much fun could be had with some rusty shit boxes will be a lasting legacy of roadkill

What trim level!? Love cortina’s

Thank you. 🙏
Thanks for sharing!
Man, thanks very much
Homeless Dave? Thats from NasCarlo episode! One of the most epicest videos... or was the Rotsun on the autocross epicest.... Nevermind!
Lexus GS400?! I need to see this!! I own both a 300k mile Land Cruiser, and a Lexus GS430. And a 353k mile Lexus ES. Lol
@805NAVE buick gs400 lol
Man started watching Roadkill with my dad, and now i watch it with my kids. I'm so bummed that it's done. But stoked that you and Finnegan have your own channels.
Same here.
Ditto!!!
Thank you, David. Thank you for Stubby Bob, Mazdarati, Disgustang, Draguar and all the others. Thank you for bringing us something real.
""Cancelled! What do you mean we're cancelled?""

😉
Love a Junkyard ✌️🧡
Right? Poor Steve. That guy's been kicked around like a hacky sack.
It was the first time I ever participated in a Go Fund Me. When I saw Steve selling off his possessions and home so he could pay for this medical bills, I just couldn't stand by and not participate in that fan funded initiative. One guy who without a doubt deserved the help.
Literally all that was missing from this video TBH!
@@mindelomanMe too!
I’m turning 60 next year and I loved roadkill. Vicarious pleasure. Thanks guys🎉
Get a hot rod ! It's never too late. If you've been watching, these guys show you it's about
the journey, learning and fun without the cubic dollars.
Thanks for giving us the best 13 years
I stumbled upon the rat rod jeep episode about a month after it came out and have been watching ever since. Thank you for the years of great content. Looking forward to what you, Finnegan, and the rest of your squad have in store for us!
David & everyone at MT,
Roadkill and all the shows have changed my life.
Please keep that Roadkill spirit alive. Please keep living the American dream besides your friends that also became OUR friends.
God Bless at God's Speed
Clint
Freiburger, Dulcich, and Finnegan....you guys are legends!!!! thank you for all the awesomeness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey it’s the best off road channel on UA-cam hahahaha
Thank you Mr. Freiburger. For all of your content ❤
Mr Frieburger
I been here since the beginning n just wanted to say THANK YOU.
