Happy Thanksgiving. Right out the gate that heritage is gorgeous. The Deluxe is nice too. That KM is also a beauty. I remember when you had Robert Baker on . I started watching both of you about the same time. The 25/50 is cool and awesome neck. The case strap was hanging out on the 25/50 when you closed it. The Standard 82 is really nice also. Don't know I'll ever afford one but got to love the Artisan. Glad you were able to get the Yeti back.

I'm not a collector, so I've never understood having a guitar that you don't play. I've owned some really nice pieces in my life and enjoyed playing every one of them, including gigging. I was taught that it's a tool. I'm also a carpenter, so I have high end tools. I have them because they make job easier and better. I've always viewed guitars the same way I

Same. Im just a mediocre player but I buy guitars both because I like the way they look and I want to play them. I also dont like reviewers that look at stuff through an electron microscope and freak out over every tiny little thing. Some stuff shouldnt pass QC but some of the stuff you cant even see without zooming in 200x and complain is just dumb IMO.

Agreed. It's also my birthday guitar, so I would LOVE for Trog to keep that in his collection and one day museum. The thought my Bday guitar in his guitar museum puts a smile on my face.

What makes Robert Baker's KM so special is the way the pick guard, poker chip, pickup rings, and pickup bobbins all have the exact same matching shade of cream. You can't beat that.

That is one rare rosewood norlin era les Paul trog! Wow ! She's beautiful! The brown finish against the gold hardware always looks so rich! I wonder how many of those were produced in that norlin run? You always hear how quality dropped for gibson during the norlin era, but I've owned many norlin solid body's and they have been exceptional quality, great playing beautiful instruments! So much for the naysayers! Thanks Trog for the excellent show and your expertise for all Paul freaks out there!

Yes, it can be overwhelming. Often it requires counseling.. Stick with your 2 Strats before you get GAS and ruin your life!
That rosewood LP is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen.
12:45 i remember this guitar!!!! that color, so nice, but also the strap button being mashed in. that yellow top guitar is amazing, too. i hope you kept it!! a lot of those little things can be buffed out and fixed. gorgeous top. would love to see a collection of these with different grain patterns. all sitting next to each other. I thought I was gonna have to put washers under a truss rod nut on my strat. But I removed the nut and put copper anti-seize, the stuff you put on sparkplug threads, and it adjust great!

The fact that we are often here at the same time (speaking about all of us) is pretty amazing. My Son jokes that he might get me one of the FFND T-Shirts for Christmas!
The latches on that Gen 3 case are actually a very easy fix. I definitely would recommend doing that rather than ripping the logo off and selling the case for "whatever you can get".
I also love that smokey wood color on all of those. I would love to have one, but I already know that I can't afford one. I'll just admire from a distance.

That 1980 (my birth year, but I can’t afford vintage right now) Artisan looks like it was a boxy guitar with Les Paul wings glued on to it, such an odd 3 piece top.

How do you make a living selling way overpriced guitars? If you have a UA-cam channel people way over pay? What's the deal?
People that don't see them as overpriced and want a hands on inspection and verification of what they are getting are buying them up. He's gotta make a dime and Gibsons don't depreciate in the long haul.

could probably 3D print latch parts easily
You shouldn’t worry about truss rods so much, it’s a problem eventually for sure, a big repair, but as a collection piece I wouldn’t worry about it. I am a professional repair guy just for clarification.
Sometimes even when there's a bunch of thread showing there's still a lot of adjustability both ways too.
It's more so an issue of future saleability. Maxed and Limited Truss rods are very hard to sell online without a HUGE discount. I won't sell my personal collection stuff, but someone might have to some day and I want that process to be as simple and easy for them as possible with "no-excuses" examples

Dude local here had a Standard 83 for sale when I was looking for a Les Paul, but I had no idea wtf it was and couldn't for the life of me find out anything about them so left it.
Almost my birthday guitar! Need to be the 145 day of 1985...
You do know that Brazilian rosewood was not to be sold because of becoming an extinct spicy. Guitar makers stopped making them and followed the Citi treaty and guitar makers stopped after 1970 like the Martin guitars to Guild or Gretch or Laravee stopped. You could be allowed to buy from park services or museum curators and if you travel with a guitar built using that rosewood could not leave with that kind of wood. So one of my LPs will have a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and will stay with me. That will stay with me.
They still make them. Gibson released the Slash Brazilian Dream within the last few years. You can still buy and sell Brazilian rosewood as long as it has proper documentation. And they recently lifted the ban on traveling with guitars made with Brazilian rosewood. But yeah, it is a protected species. As it should be. China uses a LOT of it for furniture. To the point of endangering it. But really, there are so many species of rosewood, it’s hard to tell the difference between some. But most all are protected now.

The first LP and amber one are beyond beautiful I'll never understand oh there's scratches being near 50 myself it adds character to the instrument. Why does Trogly not have a sold listings on his website like he complains about on other website? That way when I sell a kidney and might be able to afford one of these I might get an idea how much it cost
