@@WKogut Denmark free kick wasn't a free kick, their player were stood to close to the English wall which is against the rules in football go and check. England had a clear penalty denied prior, if you re watch the replay of the foul on sterling you would see that it was a penalty all day long. When you think about all the teams weve had for the last 55 years since that final, it's actually mad that we havent won once since then.

It's been a huge outlet for the last 18 months of emotions, people old and young and who wouldn't usually care that much (although we rarely need an excuse for a piss up) need something positive to unite us. Lots of held down emotions will be flying about tonight both positive and negative, you will see grown men cry over a game, they will tell you it's the match why they cry but it will be much more than that.

It's totally the norm for our blokes to behave like this with football. They take it very seriously. This though is like all their dreams coming true. It's way off the scale we are all bursting with pride for our team.

For your sake as it's your first match I hope it's an exciting one, but tbh I'd take a boring win right now.
Win or lose, the team has made us so proud, but I really hope they can cross that final line. The group of players we have now is so talented and actually likeable. They're also quite young so this isn't their last chance, but it'd be so good to see them get some major silverware.
They're also going to be donating any winnings to the NHS, so that's an extra incentive after the trials of the past year or so.

It must have been hellishly early when you did that podcast. I've just watched it (UK) and it's only 12.47pm. Couldn't you sleep? Kick-off is 8pm UK time this evening, I presume that will be about 2pm your time. I'm not a football fanatic but I do like to watch the important matches like the FA cup final etc., I sincerely hope we win tonight, but I'm not totally sure we will because apparently we haven't beaten Italy in a long time, and they are a very strong team. This team that Gareth Southgate has got together is also a strong team .... and we still have most of them, I think only one is out of the team with a foot injury, so ....... I think we have a good chance. I'll be watching ... can't wait.
