Interesting mix, looks like it works a treat....can't say I've ever thought of a paste/gel option, just gone the spray or roll on solution, will definitely give it a try. Think its a good idea to wear glasses (an old hat and clothes) when mixing as well. As I said I've never used a acid gel but may be not using the power washer to begin the wash off, a lower presure hose might be safer......less atomisation (therefore more control of wash down) and more dilution potential with higher water volume rather than pressure (old engineering adage = 'the solution to pollution is dilution'......I sort of hate using it, but its sort of true). Talking of pollution it might also be good if you have a 50/50 mix of water and garden lime to spread around to help neutralise the runoff.
Thanks for all the comments, yes on the hose to wash off, my hose has multiple speed so start slow then speed up to full power. Eye protection and old clothes are the way to go 👍
@@BottomUPBoats Hi. Yes this worked really well. I did not add the wallpaper paste i just used it in a bucket with lots of soap. I then applied it with a broom. Lots of wet scrubbing. This seemed a much quicker way of doing it. less than 15 mins to do one side. totaly removed all of the yellow staining so easy.
The video was focused on cleaning not the full process of restoring and protecting the shine. Your comment tells me we need to make a video on the full process. Thanks for sharing and giving us ideas for future updates.
@@BottomUPBoats Hay, yes please. Didn't want to think I could just do the clean and walk away. Just wondered why process you'd carry out following a clean like this?
@@pointbluesailing4730 depending on the age and condition of you boat the results from an acid wash can be amazing. With that said, finishing with a polish results in a greater shine and keeps it shinny for longer as the polish will help stains from getting back into the glass.
In the video you say vertical surfaces. What about the deck? Or is it just too hard to make sure all of the acid is hosed out of any pin holes or cracks?
Depending on the slope of the deck you can go with this option if it NOT flat to avoid it running off. If it is flat you can use the same mix minus the wall paper paste. In both cases wash it down with lots of water post the cleaning process to avoid the acid getting into any unwanted places !

Nice vide just ordered some up and will be trying it in a couple o days. Many thanks
No problem 👍 Would love to hear how you get on. To give you some perspective we used around 2.5 litres of gel to coat the 36 foot yacht in the video.

@@NeilEwins great to here it helped to restore your shine !
No need for car detergent if i only need to remove deck yellowing?
It can work without it, it is the acid which while restore the yellow to white
Nothing mentioned about adding wax afterwards to protect the gel coat?

Well this beats just using a rag and a prayer.
Need to be careful with the oxalic acid, but definitely cuts down on the elbow grease to return your shine.
Well…. You added exactly 50ml😂
Plus or Minus a little :)
