Killer man! The info at the front end was super valuable and the drop of black to see the change... dynamite idea! Its a pleasure seeing this series come to life, fantastic job man!
Thank You Sir!!!! I had some big shoes to fill!! I'm glad you approve!! Lots more to come in this series!! These color companies are gonna keep us busy for a minute!!! Cheers Brother!!!
@@baitchuckin I don’t know about all that big shoe stuff, LOL! You are correct though, plenty of pigments to keep us both busy for a long time! That’s a real good problem to have 👍👍
I have been around on UA-cam long enough to see people go from mild success to absolute legend status. Demo ranch, lunkers, Milikan, LFG. It finally feels great to see someone in the early stages and to know that I got in early on your UA-cam stardom. Sorta like buying apple stock early on. You are doing a fantastic job bud, please keep it up!
Wow, thank you! Those are some big channels to compare to! I hope I make it up there someday!! I think things will pick up once I can start filming some of the fishing on the Delta to mix in as well. I don't want it to be purely bait making, we gotta fish too ya know?!?!?
Having a series like this is a great idea! It will help guide us new bait makers tremendously! Will you do something like this with the different types of plastisols? I’m curious to know what all the different plastics do and get to know the characteristics of each. It would be cool to have a reference video to have an idea of how they will work in the water!
Liked seeing all the colors in one video. Liked blue craw the best would like to see it with a burnt orange laminate. Keep the videos coming great channel
Michael, wow great content. I subscribed as soon as you started talking and I saw how organized your things are! Was reading some comments, hard to believe you just started your channel. Your commentary, knowledge, and on camera presence feels like you have been filming for years. Very good job! Keep up the good work my man!
Thank you for the kind words! 🙏🏼 While I’m relatively new to soft injection bait making, I have fished for a bit and I’ve done youtube channels / projects in the past. Glad to be bringing my skill set to the fishing community now. I’m having a blast doing something I love for once! 🤙🏼 lots more to come. 👍🏼
Really enjoyed the video sir !! It was very helpful, I have all of these colors but haven"t tried them all yet but looking forward to trying them now. Thanks for sharing !!
Great info and nice samples. I'm familiar with the blue craw and kiwis they are great. First time I've seen the synth oil and metal mist. Personally I thought the oil shade was weak but I may look into the metal. Thanks for doing that, it helped me a lot.
I lucked out because they don't even have the Pink Lemonade on their site for the time being. I've found it to be interesting, for sure a pink lemonade, but I added a translucent Fluorescent yellow, and really brought out the yellow a bit more with just a single drop in a 1 cup. Even added a Translucent Fluorescent Green and that looks really neat, actually turned the Pink, more to a Tangerine but with a morph color of a green that was see through. Really neat stuff and really good video !
It's still on the site, they just re-classified it as a Paragon effect color now, so it's found in the section with all their pearls. Thank You for the kind words on the video! Lots more to come!!
@@baitchuckin Ahhh gotchya :D glad tbh too, just a great colour to change up and make unique ... and Can't wait dude !! got a great team, and tbh I'm a sucker for underwater footage that you guys do too !! even a running hose can simulate movement rather well in a tub too for spinner/trailer action ;)
I just ordered these was wondering on the blue craw if you added one drop of green pumpkin brown to it would it make the brown pop out a little more? Going to have to try this on my flukes and craws I make!! Great video and I appreciate all the info you gave on these!! My first time ordering anything from dead on plastic's!! I use a lot m-f and lureworks and do-it colors!! Asquaredcustombaits!!
Hey Michael, another great one. Can you do a video on plastic injection temps for different molds and laminations? It would be good to see how temp affects the mold denting and laminating.
I can certainly do a video on this topic, however please note I am still a little new myself and still learning. I should also point out that every mold will behave differently. Just because you can shoot one mold at a certain temperature, doesn't mean you can shoot all molds at that temperature. Each mold is uniquely different. It's a great topic for a video, but still variable. I'll cover it in the future.
Subscribed just after the start of this video and I came from SDG's channel. I'm new to the bait making world and what would happen if you added a drop of white to any of these? Just curious if it would wash out/dull the effects? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
Hi, thanks for the new subscription!! Adding white to these would definitely give them a more milky opaque look to them. Typically black is best for bringing out a color shift. White brings out more of a pearl effect.
The Metal Mist is a Slate to Purple morph. Slate can also be a gray and I think that’s what they were going for with this color. I had to thought it was going to be blue to purple, but every time I shoot this color it always comes out with the purple to Gray for me. Kinda makes sense when you think about the color of metal.
I'm starting to believe I got a bad batch of the blue craw. No matter what I do, it comes out straight brown, shake and mix the crap out of it still just brown. I have a Kiwis, and it performs awesome, next DO order I'm going to pick up another bottle of blue craw to see.
@Jim Tandlmayer I have, but either way there is little to no blue color in the bottle, 2 drops 30 drops it don't matter its just brown, the kiwis I have performed amazing and looks great.
Sorry to hear that. It can happen, depending on how the bottles were poured. I've noticed, no matter the company, there are some variances to all the colors. No two batches are identical, so you can re-order a color and it can be slightly off. Have you tried contacting Dead On? Perhaps they will replace it for you rather than having to purchase a new bottle?
Oh wow, that's a very loaded question. It really depends on the bait I'm making. Worms I typically use Soft or Worm Blend. Swimbaits under 5: I use Medium or Swimbait blend. Swimbaits above 5" and for Craws or Tubes or flipping baits, I'll use Firm or Craw / Tube blend. for the occasional extra large bait I'll bump up to Saltwater blend.
I know there have been Motor Oil comparisons done before. You seem to have the big colors all on hand, any chance of a MF vs LW vs DoP vs Do-It vs LC episode?
Yes I can certainly do my take on it, and I also have the original MF from long ago to compare to as well. If you're interested, Adam at SDG did a version of this video as well. Here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/lX85Ada6AZM/v-deo.html

Oh yeah!! I have lots of fun ideas planned. Every time I go to the store with my wife now I'm browsing the aisles trying to see what I can dissolve into plastisol!! LOL
I think in the long run, yes, but there are some upfront costs involved. Chris Jones has some great videos on what's needed to get started and the costs involved. His channel is @worldsworstfishing I recommend checking some of those videos out. But those are all one time costs. After that, you have the materials and the molds. Your only recurring costs would be plastisol, color pigments, and glitter.

The Pink Lemonade with the black almost creates a copper/new penny vibe
Yes, it's pretty cool, I quite enjoy it, I will play with it some more in the future.
Also metal mist with a little black with black blue and purple glitter?
