Quickly becoming the best bait making channel but I think the triple color is more for catching fishermen dual color will just as many fish. Keep up great work can’t wait for next video
Thanks for the kind words!!! Yeah that’s why I tried to show the pattern in a variety of ways, the triple injector is by no means necessary to get a good looking bait. The dual laminate looked perfectly fine. 👍🏼
Great demos...too much info!!! Couple things regarding the disco flake that may help someone. I haven't been using it long. You turned me onto it a couple weeks ago. I have an 1100 watt micro. I would bring the plastic up to temp let it cool to 310. Then mix in the flake and inject. As long as I kept it in a 2 cup pyrex on the reheat, it was fine. Short shots of heat and not letting it get above 310. I shot a couple hundred grubs, was down to the end with no loss of color. transferred to a 1 cup. Even with low temps and 15 second reheat cycles it turned green instantly. Believe the 1 cup concentrates the heat. Give it a try. That disco flake is awesome. Nothing looks quite like it. Look forward to future videos...thanks again!
Thank You!!! Ohh that's a great tip on the 2 cup pyrex. I'll give that a shot. You might be onto something, because I agree with you, it takes longer in my 2 cup to heat just 2 cup of plastic. So I wonder if the thicker glass is causing for a slower heat-up therefore protecting the purple of the flake. We must test this further!!!!!!!
A dual walk in the park vs triple... dude, you ain't lie'in! Who knew adding just one more color could cause so much trouble! I think two microwaves is the ticket... shoot, 3 if you have the wiring to handle it! I've also heard (but have yet to try) that the defrost mode is the ticket to keeping stuff warm juuuuuust right, once its at the temp you want. Need to try that soon. Awesome stuff man! That mega grub was off the hook! #thisistheway
This colorway would be sweet in some more saltwater lures!! Reminds me of an anchovy/herring! I know the lingcods/stripers/halibuts would kill that color! Awesome video 👍
Long ago many lure makers decided to make pretty lures to attract fishermen with no regard to weather or not it will catch fish. Remember new and improved? Remember the flying lure, helicopter lure. How did they stand the test of time. That is why I do not sell lures, I just make lures that catch fish. I understand color is seasonal and regional. Fish like perfect imperfections not healthy bait.
Oh yeah, there are lots of colors out there for the fisherman. Gotta collect'em all right? LOL This one turned out pretty good. I think it has a solid chance at catching some bass.
I very much enjoy the channel and your enthusiasm. Question about the giant grub, how does the tail work? If you are pre-pouring the darksaber tail and then adding it to the skim coated body, wouldn't you need to either have one half of the mold milled deeper to make up for the adding the tail and keeping it centered? Or is the plastic thin enough that it really doesn't matter?
Thanks for the kind words!! As for the tails in the mold, you are correct, the mold is designed to be recessed to accept the tail. The last inch of the body of the grub molds around the inserted tail to form a solid bond. This way you can shoot the mold all by itself, or you can use the separate tail mold like I did.
I was considering for a long time whether to order EBM 12" epic grub, and today I ordered it, thinking about the giant northern pikes and catfish I plan to catch with these twisters this year, we'll see XD
Awesome! You’re going to love it! Make sure to give that code enough time to cool down, it’s thick so it’s going to take a few minutes to fully cure enough for de-mold. 👍🏼
No. I used Worm Blend for the skin pour and the tail, and saltwater blend for the body injection. So it has a soft outer skin and a really flappy tail, but a super solid core for strength.
I shit the center core at about 340 F as to not burn the sparkle flake. Yes you are correct, I baked the entire mold at 350 for about 15 minutes on the hit plate before De-Molding. 👍🏼
I don’t know. It was a no-name brand purchase off Amazon. Just search “scientific heating plate” and there are lots of options. I went that route for the flat aluminum surface vs. the presto griddles that a lot of people use.
Which Baggies? The Clear baggies, or the bags for my company, 8bit Baits? The clear bags you can order from Lureworks directly. So I grab some of the various sizes when I order color and glitter from them. For my custom bags, I had those printed up custom to my specification. Downside to a custom bag is you have to order them in batches of several thousand at a time, and all of a single size.
I have no idea yet. I'm open to suggestions. I definitely think I could nab something on it trolling it behind the boat out in the Delta. It would definitely make for a fun video!
Yeah that's what I'm thinking! A Delta Striper definitely has to grab this thing right? OK 12/0 sounds like a good place to start. If not a Jig Head, maybe a 12/0 Beast Hook?? I need to pick some up anyways for the Epic Boss Mold, so I'll try that on the Mega Grub.
In the description for all of the videos I have a link to my Amazon Store and I usually list out all of the equipment I use. But I made it easier for you and included a link directly to the hot plate here for you. Cheers and Tight Lines! amzn.to/41iZ1PW
Triple lammy for the win!!! Lookin mighty sweet!
Thank You! I appreciate the kind words!
WHAT BEAUTIES😂😊🎉 I have to save this video, just put meds in my eye.
Awesome!! I hope you come back and watch the rest!! Cheers!
love the color
Thank You!!

Thanks Brother!!!! Be safe out there on the road!!
Super cool color!!!
I think so too! Thank You!!

Right? No kidding that Triple Injector is a monster!!! This is the way. /nods helmet
That was a cool color match man 🤙
Another great video
Thanks 👍 This one was a lot of fun!!! I need some practice on my hand pouring though to get as good as you. I'll get there, practice practice!
@@baitchuckin ah shucks man I just get lucky! But I appreciate the kind words my friend 🤙
One can also use tig wire and make virtually any worm mold a core shot mold very reasonably
Ohh that's a cool idea!! I might have to try that!!
Don't forget Travis has even more colors coming out also
So many colors from everyone, I can’t keep up 😂
This colorway would be sweet in some more saltwater lures!! Reminds me of an anchovy/herring! I know the lingcods/stripers/halibuts would kill that color! Awesome video 👍
Thanks for watching! If you make some baits for saltwater fishing in this color, let me know how they work!!!
@@baitchuckin Will do!!! :)
I’ve got a core shot ned worm I’m gonna try this with.
Awesome!! You should give it a shot! It's a fun one to do and a killer effect in a core shot mold!!

Awesome video.
What about doing a video on making the shelf.
I might do that also! Not sure if everyone wants to watch a woodworking video or not though? 🤷🏻♂️
That mega grub is Goliath grouper bait! 😂👍🏼
Yeah it’s definitely meant for Saltwater fishing.

You look pretty handy with the wood work. You should build an “oven rack” where you can slide in the cookie sheets and vertically stack them inside.
I've been cooking up some plans for a rolling cart to house all the trays. I like the idea!!
This is the way. I have spoken.
This is the way.
What size injector do you need to fill that 12” Grub. The Musky Guys would love that here in 🇨🇦
I did it just fine with an 8 oz. injector.
Great idea. Who doesn't like Star Wars!! Quick question. What are you using to heat your molds?
One more question. Did you use the saltwater blend for the skin pour on the grub?
I am using an industrial hot plate off of Amazon.
No. I used Worm Blend for the skin pour and the tail, and saltwater blend for the body injection. So it has a soft outer skin and a really flappy tail, but a super solid core for strength.
What temp did you shoot the core of the mega grub at? And did you have to heat the mold to bond the skin pour to the core
I shit the center core at about 340 F as to not burn the sparkle flake. Yes you are correct, I baked the entire mold at 350 for about 15 minutes on the hit plate before De-Molding. 👍🏼
Who makes the heating plate you use for your open pour molds?
I don’t know. It was a no-name brand purchase off Amazon. Just search “scientific heating plate” and there are lots of options. I went that route for the flat aluminum surface vs. the presto griddles that a lot of people use.

What hook you running on the mega grub?rigging video?
I have no idea yet. I'm open to suggestions. I definitely think I could nab something on it trolling it behind the boat out in the Delta. It would definitely make for a fun video!
Most of what I have seen is 12\0 giant lingcod jig heads. Maybe a little much for trolling lol big ol delta striper would definitely eat it.
Sell those giant grubs up in Minnesota Wisconsin. Ontario Canada 🇨🇦. Muskie country. Nobody I’ve seen makes nothing that cool up here
Yeah I've had a few folks hit me up to use these for Muskie!
How do I make an order 🤔🤔
Unfortunately I don't sell my baits for custom orders, but I do drop some baits on the 8bit Baits website from time to time.
Where can I purchase a hot plate like yours ?
In the description for all of the videos I have a link to my Amazon Store and I usually list out all of the equipment I use. But I made it easier for you and included a link directly to the hot plate here for you. Cheers and Tight Lines!

ned core mold
Yeah this can work with any core mold.
Bait Chuckin Say man Love your shows But they too long You need to do this in 2 parts Just a suggestion
Yeah these older videos were a bit long. I've tried to keep things a bit shorter with the newer stuff.
You good now don't get me wrong I dig your show dig
Need to keep an eye out for a aluminum bakers rack that holds 36-72 pans
Good Call!!! Now to search marketplace.....
