Yeah, I found that out after making the video. I didn't know of the color before making the video so my reaction is pretty genuine. Crazy how you can expect one thing but get something totally different.

The color is called Nightmare Blue from MF. The one on the left was before widening the tip of the colorant jar.. So you were getting the purple color but not much of the blue pigment. The one on the right has equal parts purple dye and blue pigment because the tip was widened so more pigment can pass through it.

Weird, he had just stocked up on a bunch of it about 6 months back. I’ll try and check with Jeff. Did you use the recipe in the video? I know if you add too much it goes straight purple. You gotta stay around 20 drops per cup to keep the pink shift in there.

I tried exactly 15 drops and exactly 20 drops and both just ended up a grape purple

Well that’s a bummer. Was the bottle shaken up good? You should reach out to MF and see about getting it replaced or a refund. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yep I actually set two metal mixing balls in it and use a bottle mixer similar to what they use in labs to shake blood and stuff together. Works wonders on these bottles of colorant.

That’s the best part of making your own baits! You can adjust it to whatever color you like best!! 🙌🏼

It’s one of the small ones. The VMC Moon eye jigs are what Epic recommends, I don’t fish the 1.2 myself but it’s going to require a panfish hook. 🪝 it’s a tiny bait!

They are open in a limited capacity as far as I know. It’s been a little bit since I’ve heard from them. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hi there! No I don't have a video like that posted but that's exactly the type of content I plan on bringing to the channel. To be honest I've gotten a little bored doing color recipe's and mold reviews all the time. I want to start adding content like this into the channel more. It's a great idea for a video and I may use it for a video in the future!

Thank You! I worked with a graphic designer, he is the same one that has done all of my graphics and then sent them off to print at a bag manufacturer. I like to control the art myself instead of have a factory do it. My suggestion is to reach out to a supplier that you like for costs, etc. and ask them for an art template. Then you can take that template and either do the graphics yourself or work with an artist on Fiverr or another similar platform to get some cool art done. Then go back to the manufacturer with the completed art file and get the bags printed. It's a little more leg work, but the bags turn out so much better that way in my opinion.

Jason from Epic Bait Molds recommends the VMC Moon Eye Jigs. Size of jig will depend on the size of the crappie slayer you are using. 🙌🏼

I suggest the 1/16 or 1/32. You can go up to an 1/8 but you need to find it on the smaller hook size.

That is awesome to hear! Yeah the flat stir sticks really do make a big difference. It is just a nicer experience overall in my opinion.

Hi there! The tails are to be used to place in the mold and then inject the body of the bait over the tail. This allows you to have a different color tail then the rest of the body. Unfortunately out in the wild, when a fish bites off the tail, there is no way to re-attach it. Things like "Mend-It" can help with things like tearing on a larger swimbait, but for the most part, if they bite off the tail, that bait is done.

What do you mean by UV? Can you be a bit more specific?

@@baitchuckin a lot of fluorescent colors liked chartreuse reflect uv light. Basically if you shined a black light on them they glow the color that they are. Bass can see uv.

@@baitchuckin you have dead on colors. Do you have any of the Neo colors? Shine a black light on the bottle tips. You will see what I mean

Ahh ok yes now I understand what you mean, UV Reactive. To be honest I don't know if any of them are UV reactive or not. I'll have to bust out the black light and check.

I'll try but Olive Oil is a single color, so I think it's a standalone pigment. I don't believe it's a mixture of anything.

Yes that's correct. The revised version does not have the Firetail Red in it which is why you need to add in a few drops separately if you are trying to re-create the original recipe.
